Tom Steyer Debate Answers

Opening Statement
Thank you CNN and Anderson for hosting this debate, I'm excited to debate yet again. The past few months have made something very very clear. Americans are looking for change, and they're looking for a winning coalition against Mike Pence and his presidential catastrophe. This catastrophe is wrecking hurt on every American. Hard working miners and factory workers see their pay stubs stagnant as CEOs make millions, farmers can't pay their bills or put food on the table because of this administration's insane trade policy, storms and floods wreck Iowa, Nebraska, while Mike Pence parrots the denial and lies demanded by his mega donors. Mike Pence insists that we need tax breaks for the super rich to boost our economy. I say no, Americans say no. My campaign is a broad coalition of Americans from all corners of the country that rejects the Trump/Pence disaster and wants a progressive, populist agenda. If elected, I'll fight for the people like Mike Pence never can or will.

Personal Question
Well Anderson I reject that completely. Time and time again Mike Pence shows he is terrified of our campaign. Every tweet he dispenses out mentions me or one of his stupid nicknames for me, and every time I’m in the news because of the comprehensive and extensive policy proposals I’m making, he tweets some all caps nonsense about sending me to jail. He’s afraid of our campaign and me, and he’s afraid of the coalition I’m putting together. My campaign’s coalition is broad, very broad, that’s why Congressman Moulton and Senator Booker endorsed me, because my campaign is a winning coalition. From farmers in Iowa to small business owners in New Hampshire and South Carolina all the way to entrepreneurs in California and coal miners, yes coal miners in Kentucky and West Virginia. This campaign is about working people and families, and this campaign will beat Mike Pence. And let’s make something else clear, Mike Pence’s attacks on me, on Stacey, and on our party, and his tax shams serve to mask the truth, Mike Pence is not a populist, Mike Pence is not a man of the people. He’s just like Trump before him, pretending to care for working people, while at the same time accepting hundreds of thousands in campaign cash from industries that rip off working people and then trying to give them a tax break. I will beat Mike Pence because I’m running on a real populist platform, a progressive platform, and I will beat him badly.

Closing Statement
This election is extremely important, we must beat Mike Pence. Or else we face 4 more years, perhaps more of our democracy being undermined, basic decency cast aside, and the working people of this country being abused and discarded. If elected I'll bring back decency, stability, and patriotism, and a government that is off and by the people, and that serves the people. We will take our democracy, and protect the constitution. Enough of a government that serves the super rich and big corporations, I will as President have only one special interest, and that is the American people. It's time for the people's government, and the people's house! Thank you and God Bless America!

Mike Pence @presidentpence

Let's make something clear, ok? My tax plan doesn't give a PENNY to the rich. Period. The Dem Koch is a liar and a fraud who should never be believed by working Americans!

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin

Carlson: Good evening. I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin. And this is your election update.

Carlson: This week marked by the dropout of Senator Amy Klobuchar, who endorsed her colleague Kirsten Gillibrand, potentially cutting into Tom Steyer's momentum, particularly in the state of Nevada.

Levin: Many other news stories, as well, which you can check up on at foxnews.com.

Carlson: And we have breaking news tonight as Quinnipiac and Reuters have released a jointly performed general election poll just six weeks before the Iowa caucuses. And what a tale it tells.

Abrams vs. Pence
Stacey Abrams - 48%
Mike Pence - 47%

Baldwin vs. Pence
Mike Pence - 50%
Tammy Baldwin - 46%

Bullock vs. Pence
Steve Bullock - 48%
Mike Pence - 46%

Gillibrand vs. Pence
Mike Pence - 49%
Kirsten Gillibrand - 47%

Steyer vs. Pence
Mike Pence - 50%
Tom Steyer - 46%

Levin: One of the big surprises here being that two of the main frontrunners, Tom Steyer and Kirsten Gillibrand, seem to struggle against the President. When asked to explain the differences, Reuters produced a survey specifically for those who said they would vote for a given Democrat in one scenario and the President in another.
Generally, the most common reason cited was Bullock's seeming willingness to work across the aisle, while many voters who chose not to support Steyer complained of his continued insistence that the Pence tax legislation was a handout to the rich, despite the President's repeated insistence (as verified by Politifact) that there were no active tax breaks for the wealthy. Baldwin, on the other hand, was identified as "too far left" by more than 50% of voters who said they would vote for Bullock but not for her.

Ms. Abrams, meanwhile, largely benefited from the support of moderate members of minority groups, who often would vote for Pence if the nominee were anyone else. One man, who agreed to be interviewed by Fox News and fits into this category, stated "it's time for us to have a President that I can show to my daughter and say 'That can be you,' and she'll believe me."

Carlson: Emotional stuff, that, but will it pay off when the primaries begin? Regardless, that will be all for tonight. Tune in next time when we bring you the latest election news. Until then, I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin.

Both: And this has been your Election Update.

Jordan's debate answers :

Look, I'm not running against President Pence, nor against anyone on this stage. I'm not running to beat Mike Pence. I'm running because I believe that there are issues that haven't been adressed so much such as government spending because too many politicians didn't focus on it. A strong economy requires, of course lower taxes, but also fiscal discipline and putting wasteful spending under control. That's why I pledge to adopt a balanced budget amendment within my first term. And I assure you that if the President wins this nomination, he will have my full support in order to keep moving this country forward.

OOC:

Lately, I've noticed that several of my tweets and logos are being taken down. I understand the tweets being taken down because the profile picture may not be under the regular policy. But the logo that I made for Stacey is being taken down. There's no photo on it. It's not taken from anyone else. I made the logo with my own computer and software. If anybody could explain why this could be, I'd really appreciate it.

Mike Pence and Vladimir Putin reach an important deal in Moscow

President Mike Pence had long wanted to meet Vladimir Putin, and that happened today in Moscow. While consulting NATO, Mike Pence struck a far-reaching deal with the Russian president, one which was the goal of the Trump Administration. Here is the bottom line -
1. Russia is going to work together with US, NATO and the countries involved in order to quickly defeat all Islamic terrorists in Africa and Asia
2. In exchange for this, USA and Europe are going to gradually remove the sanctions imposed on Russia until 2030, with the Crimea annexation being more or less ignored
3. USA and NATO are going to fully remove all of their military presences and involvements in Syria once ISIS and all other Islamic terrorists groups are gone

Mike Pence said that this is the beginning of a new era in American foreign policy, not based on regime-change and meddling all around the world but on fighting terrorism wherever it is in collaboration with other countries, including Russia, while focusing on American domestic issues.

Mike Pence @presidentpence

Mitch McConnell has done a fine job as Senator and Senate Majority Leader, but it is time for new blood and to #DrainTheSwamp even inside our very own party, which is why I encourage him to retire after a long, very long career in politics and I endorse Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton for the job! I will personally go and campaign for her and I also encourage Wesley Morgan to drop out and endorse Jenean. This is the chance you have got to send in a real, non-partisan conservative and a true patriot to the Senate, so pay attention KY! #NewGOP #MAGA

Mike Pence releases list of competitive Senate and Gubernatorial races and his endorsements

President Mike Pence has taken a keen interest in the down-ballot races, and is decided to ensure that the GOP has the best candidates to defend seats as well as take seats from the Democratic Party. Here is a list that his Administration has put out -

For the Senate, the Administration published this list of endorsements -

In Kansas, they are worried about Kris Kobach winning the nomination and blowing this election up like he did in 2018, as such Mike Pence will endorse Representative Roger Marshall, who was showed by their polls to have the best chance at winning.

In Kentucky, Mike Pence already announced his endorsement of Jenean Hampton.

In Rhode Island, surprisingly, the Administration sees an opening with Former Mayor Scott Avedisian, however this was put on a minimal resources list handed to the RNC. (OOC - this is more of a strategy to fool the DNC into spending here instead of focusing on other seats)

In Alabama, Mike Pence is very worried about Roy Moore, but also about Jeff Sessions, who is known for his conflict with President Trump. As such, they endorsed Representative Mo Brooks for the seat.

In the following seats, Mike Pence endorsed the sitting Senators - Alaska, Georgia (both), Arizona, Iowa, Maine, Montana (where Bullock might jump in) and North Carolina. Interestingly, Cory Gardner is not on the list, but the RNC and the White House decided to abandon his seat. The President views him as deeply swampist and thinks he has no chance at winning anyway.

For gubernatorial races, Mike Pence is endorsing -

Pat McRory in North Carolina. According to the polls, he is the best bet of unseating Governor Cooper and win back a critical swing state.

Tim Fox in Montana. The WH strategists think that the best bet to flip the governorship after someone like Bullock is to run a more moderate candidate.

Eric Greitens in Missouri. The WH is reportedly afraid to fight against an incumbent Governor, despite his unpopularity.

Other states where he endorsed incumbent Governors - Indiana and New Hampshire.

This are the seats where the GOP is going to fight the hardest. A list of endorsements for the House is expected in the following days.

For a better future PAC ads airing in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina - Say no to radical Steyer!

Narrator - Tom Steyer. He is just too liberal for you. In the past, he worked for and donated to radicals like John Kerry, Bill Bradley and Walter Mondale. In 2008, he was all in on Barack Obama, the one who passed the horrific Obamacare and other socialist policies. He was considered serving in that far-left Administration - TWICE! He opposed the Keystone Pipeline and pushed for radical measures to destroy the fossil fuel industry, pushing a leftist agenda on energy. Then, he formed NextGen America PAC, which donated tons of money to liberal Democrats all across the country. He even contributed to Hillary Clinton against Donald Trump. Yes, against the great President Trump. He has pushed a radical, liberal agenda on environment and energy. In 2017, he spent millions on ads for impeachment against Trump and in 2019-2020 against Pence. He is a liberal, a die-hard liberal, and just too extreme for you.

For a better future PAC is not affiliated with any campaign or candidate.

(OOC - It is directed by the Pence campaign, but no clear connections can be made)

Mike Pence @presidentpence

The Democrat field is SO sad! Look who their best and brightest are... The Dem Koch (or soon to be The-Locked-Up), Nowhere-to-be-found and the Queen of Abortions! What a depleted bunch. They and their down-ballot socialist and/or swampist candidates are going to get washed out of their offices by the #NewGOP in 2020! Red wave upcoming.

Mike Pence @presidentpence

Nowhere-to-be-found, my Administration is going to present a plan on opioid addiction soon. Despite your lack of cooperation, we developed it anyway and it is going to be great! Look at how useless you have been, just like your failed campaign! The #NewGOP will defeat you or your opponents, and badly!

This is ABSURD! There is nothing about selling America in the deal - we are merely transitioning from being the guardian of the world to work together with other countries - something the people voted for overwhelmingly when they elected Donald Trump. Dem Koch is so scared and desperate of going to jail that he invents this falsehoods, but he is going there anyway!

BREAKING NEWS
McCONNELL THREATENS TO BLOCK PENCE TAX BILL AS PRESIDENT ENDORSES HAMPTON AGAINST HIM

Following President Pence's decision to endorse Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton for U.S. Senate in Kentucky, the Majority Leader fired back, threatening to "decimate" the President's latest tax reform bill, set to face the Senate just before the holiday recess. Many believe that this could kill the bill, as McConnell's threats have raised the specter of other insurgents against the Pence administration also voting against the bill, quite possibly killing it on "friendly turf" before it even has the chance to reach the House floor. Senators Paul and Portman refused to comment for this story.

Mike Pence @presidentpence

I am officially calling for the removal of Mitch McConnell from the Senate Majority Leader position. I have talked to the great Texas Senator John Cornyn and convinced him to challenge McConnell for the Leadership. This swampist, illegitimate Leader who only cares about his job needs to go and does not belong in the #NewGOP. I call on all Senators to vote for John Cornyn as a compromise solution to this crisis which is threatening to destroy the lives of millions of Americans, and settle on a permanent leader in 2021.

Mike Pence will meet with all GOP Senators in order to convince them to back John Cornyn for Majority Leader.

BREAKING NEWS
McCONNELL CLAIMS HE "EASILY HAS THE VOTES" TO KILL PENCE TAX BILL IF HE IS REMOVED FROM MAJORITY LEADER POSITION

Responding to President Pence's threat to remove him as Majority Leader, Senator Mitch McConnell claimed he "easily" has the votes to defeat the President's tax bill, though he refused to release any names "so as to protect them from President Peeve's torrent of tweeted rabid ravings." McConnell has stated he will "naturally stand down if the President does," but that "my cynicism toward the President regaining his sense grows with every passing day." No Senators were willing to comment for this story, other than McConnell.

Tom Steyer Ad: The Mike Pence Scam

Broadcasted in all major markets and in ALL Markets in Iowa, Nevada, South Carolina, and New Hampshire with an emphasis on buying out GOP ad buys

Mike Pence by Gage Skidmore, on Flickr

Narrator: Yep it's the Mike Pence scam back again. Chaos, corruption, and crookedness. The beneficiaries? Mike Pence and his rich friends. The victims, hard working Americans like you.

kentucky, USA gas prices by EX22218 - ON/OFF, on Flickr

Narrator: It wasn't long before Indiana got ripped off. Gas prices up, big tax breaks for companies sending jobs overseas, and cover ups and secrecy. But the special interests were happy, Mike took hundreds of thousands from them. He knew who he had to serve. Mike joined the Trump ticket to escape his collapsing approval numbers, so Hoosiers never got the chance to send him home.

Mike Pence by Gage Skidmore, on Flickr

Narrator: As President, the scam is back. He says he opposes the undue influence of lobbying, but he benefits from their crooked cash every time. Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Banks, Mike is a big fan. He says he is a strong and stable leader, but his nonsense tweets and constant chaos say otherwise. He says he'll cut taxes for the middle class, but can we trust him when his record is full of lies and deceit?

Tom Steyer by Gage Skidmore, on Flickr

Narrator: We can do better than Mike Pence. Tom Steyer is fighting for the people against the big banks and the pharmaceutical companies that Mike loves. It's time to take our democracy back from the Mike Pence and special interest scams. It's time to fight for the people with Tom Steyer.

(Steyer Voice) I'm Tom Steyer, and I approve this message because I believe I can beat Mike Pence and restore dignity to Washington.

Mike Pence @presidentpence

Let us get the facts for a second - I am not taking money from Big Banks and Big Pharma. In fact, I have taken steps to fight their greed. I pushed for a bill preventing Big Pharma from raising the price of prescription drugs even further, but obviously the soon to be The-Locked-UP and his Democrat puppets or allies opposed me. I am pushing for a tax code fairer for the middle and lower class Americans, not for the banks, who will start paying their fair share. And you do not have to trust me on this, Dem Koch, you just have to read what I proposed. If you find that too hard, I will give you a quick summary - lower taxes for average Americans, fewer deductions for the wealthy. Period. And I have to tweet to defend myself from the attacks of you and other Democrat candidates, which are really unfair.

Mike Pence @presidentpence

I have been fighting for you and this is why I am getting sham by Swampists Steyer and McConnell, however I will not stop under any circumstances! #DrainTheSwamp #NewGOP #MAGA #LowerTAXES
