I'm hurt and devastated. I don't even know what to say. Kobe was one of my favorite basketball players growing up. This can't be real....

RIP to Kobe, Gianna and the others who lost their lives. Heartbreaking!!! Sad

The reason its so hard to describe how sad it is , is because it feels like a piece of my childhood has died.

This is what gets to me. He was such an idol in my family and reminds me of the not-so-distant past of my childhood. His death being so sudden and tragic with his 13 year old daughter and 7 other passengers on board hits like a baseball bat to the gut.

Flying is still the safest to travel but helicopters are very dangerous

I probably wont be watching many NBA games until after All Star game due to this event, but as I stated before, traveling into space and helicopters are accident prone, but airplane travel, we havent seen accidents since the 1990s
 I am confident in flying

As someone who is a die hard Lakers fan, Kobe, for all his flaws, was my idle growing up, and it was a thrill to watch him win back to back NBA titles in 2009 and 2010. I'm beyond shook over this.

RIP to his family, as well as the entire Laker organization.

Coincidentally,  Michael Jackson was eulogized by Kobe Bryant; subsequently,  he stated that stars are mortals and they will always be with us, when they die

Lillard is the player most like Kobe today when it comes to clutch play and mentality in general so the best way to honor Kobe is for the player most like him to score 40 points and lead his team to victory

It's obvious the pilot got disoriented when he flew the helicopter,  we all must remember that helicopters pilots dont have co pilots like aircraft do as a backup, that's why aircrafts have copilots.

That's why tourists have died in helicopters as well., there is only 1 pilot
