This is one of the reasons why I don't like my two Senators. (Well I shouldn't say that, Kohl's tolerable and a lot better than Feingold)

Washington: Murray has said no.  I thought Cantwell had, but I can't find that.

So if I've counted this correctly, you have 54 saying "Yea" at the moment?

there should be 57.

Also, C-Span now has Conrad as "yes", though I can't find the news article.

ETA: Ah, press release on his website.

My count is 56. Why should there be 57?

EDIT: Okay, I'll add Conrad.

Off-topic:  I love seeing so much green on that map.  Gives me hope that one day the democrat and republican parties will be sidelined by a new dominant party.  Smiley

So Snowe is the only undecided Republican and who are the undecided Democrats?

And are Johnson, Nelson (NE), and Byrd the only yes Democratic votes?

Wow, we actually are closer to defeating Alito in the actual vote than the cloture vote. Weird. Did one of the AR senators just come out against Alito?

"Mr. Bipartisan" Ron Wyden showed his true colors to Oregon's voters when he supported the extreme left's attempt to keep Alito from an up or down vote.  Hopefully he will not get 65% of the vote next time.

"Mr. Blows with the Wind" Gordon Smith is supporting Alito, but I still think he'll eventually draw a tough primary challenger much like Packwood did before him.  Probably not in '08, but in '14.

That being said, at least ONE of my Senators is supporting one of the best Jurists to be nominated for the court in quite some time.

That would be weird if it were happening after an hour or three of debate. Not now.
