Joe Kennedy is young and youthful, Maria SHRIVER- who was first lady of Cali ushered in a new leadership of youthful Kennedys. Markey havent done much of anything. This was Teddy Kennedys sat as well

I think being a Kennedy is certainly a boost, but the people who think that it makes him a sure  shot are literally living in the 1970s. A single mom, born in Cabo Verde, now a naturalized citizen in Boston could not care less about JFK or RFK. With woke culture making so much of the nastier bits of American history highly visible on the internet, it could very well be a turn-off for such a woman's college-educated daughter. This is not hypothetical either. Thousands of Cabo Verdeans live in Massachusetts, and they vote mostly Democrat.

This upstart thinks that he can be a senator just because he's a Kennedy?

He can be.

He will be.

This state loves and admires that family. But not for no reason. They have given so much to this country and that should be appreciated. Not to mention he’s simply better for the Democrats in the long run than Markey is

Plausible, but if those thousands of working Cabo Verdeans don't show for the primaries, your point is moot.

So let me get this straight: you think that, just because the Kennedy family has done good in the past, they're entitled to the right to hold a Massachusetts Senate seat until the end of time itself, no matter the individual capabilities of the family members?

I, like any sane, rational person who values democracy, would argue no, & that, no, JK3 doesn't deserve to be a Senator just because he's a Kennedy.

Indeed, JK3 is just a lightweight who wouldn't hold his safe House seat were it not for his Kennedy name & the associated money thereof. Primarying a productive stalwart who has given the majority of his adult life in service to the people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, just so that you can live up to the hype of your family's mystical political dynasty, is the absolute height of arrogance, & deserves neither the love nor the admiration of the people of the Commonwealth.

You missed the part about him being better for Democrats in the long run.

He has more clout and more resources and is more likely to have a significant impact for the state. Not to mention Markey is basically always in Virginia and hardly EVER in Mass. Kennedy is back in his district often. Big difference there. And then after all that .... yes he’s a Kennedy and in this state we trust that family to look after our interests as well as the national interests.

We've literally had this exact same conversation before. I'm sorry you didn't listen before, but I'm not having it again, except to say that if you believe that Kennedy is more likely than Markey to look after your interests (let alone the national interests), when the record & all of the evidence indicates otherwise, then you're nothing more than an enabler of the dynastic politics that allows somebody like JK3 to run for high office on the back of nothing more than his name.
