Now that Hinch and the GM have been fired, I can't help but think the Astros got off very easy. No players were suspended. They will have a guy who was a top manager candidate a few months ago take over as manager. I'm sure they will get a very good replacement at GM as well; its still a coveted job. So the team is still in great position to compete for the next few years. The $5M is nothing.

I don't fully understand how losing the draft pool money hurts, but I guess insiders are saying that really matters too. Still, if you aren't going to remove the 2017 title, then I think you really have to hit the team harder than taking 2 draft picks for 2 years. It'll hurt a tad down the road, but they will be rebuilding by then so who cares. There should have been a 1 year postseason ban to match suspensions, and I would have gone up to 5 years in penalties.

Yeah, this wasn't nearly enough. All playoff wins, including the World Series, should've been vacated for the Houston Astros, & Luhnow & Hinch should've been banned from the MLB. Hell, if Pete Rose got banned for gambling, then it only follows that this ought to be a bannable offense, too.

Confirms the fact that in game 5 when Dodgers hit all those homeruns, the Astros came right back to win. But Hunter Pence was an Astro and won 3 Wrld Series for Giants and he has been known as a Philly to be a PED user.
