This is my attempt to Gerrymander Colorado 6-2 for the dems, and I think I did fairy well. The Western district is a D+3, and so is the Jefferson County one so it could work out to possibly be a dummymander, but I think trends could basically make it safe. Same goes for the D+5 Pueblo and Boulder.

I'd like to note to everyone that there's empty mountains, rivers, lakes, parks, and reservoirs between Douglas and Jefferson counties, it's not like they're all that cohesive with each other.

I think I only count two roads directly connecting them, both with bridges at the border.

When has any one let a little thing like communities of interest and geography get in the way of gerrymandering?

I'm reading this is actually a staff map that was presented to the commission, not a commission drawn map.

Yeah that's what happened last time. Still interesting to note in how it was heavily influenced by an obvious Democratic gerrymander proposal yet somehow managed to be not a major Democratic gerrymander. Its quite weird what the staff is doing.

Minority interests = democratic gerrymander only because they vote democrat. Like would you have the map ignore minority interests or force republican seats in blue areas to counter balance?

CO-03 is Trump +9 here.

Who drew this one?

This looks closer to a 5-3, anyone have the election data for them all?

I can live with that, the CO legislature seems like they have no appetite to go any lower, unfortunately

Found LULAC's map by the way.

The El Paso/Pueblo district seems to be Biden +10, while the Larimer to Fort collins is Trump +1ish?

This is what I meant when I said that they kept submitting "not-gerrymanders," which appear to have gradually turned the commission away from the group.

Tbf it is in the best interest of any minority group to get as many democrats in office as possible
