Should NY-11 extend into Sunset Park, etc., more liberal areas?

If a Staten Island Republican wins, can they hold on?

Bay Ridge is one of the last Brooklyn GOP strongholds.

Can they please gerrymander out that awful Trump sycophant Elise Stefanik.  She has to go.  Lee Zeldin too.

Zeldin's base on Long Island is too strong. Way too strong.

Not if you attach it to enough of Queens.

Zeldin could do well in Douglaston, Little Neck, where they are a lot of Asians and white ethnics.

If Malliotakis' district stretches to Park Slope, she has to temper her pro-cop language...........

If she loses, SI will want to secede. They won't accept a Max Rose/Eric Adams reign.............they will want to leave the city altogether

Even if NYDP makes a map that would see bluer Long Island districts, those Democrats would be Blue Dogs or New Democrats.

A DSA-type candidate cannot win LI....

A DSA-type candidate would not even win places like Canarsie and Mill Basin, Canarsie has at least 5%-30% of white voters that would vote for someone like Hakeem Jeffries over Charles Barron...

It would be to make Staten Islanders feel like they have something of their own, especially South Shore Staten Islanders.

If SI doesn't split up, a lot of secession talk may emerge, SI sees itself as different than NYC, despite working for the city as civil servants.

North Shore and South Shore is racially and politically divided. South Shore Staten Island sees itself as completely different than the rest of the borough and the city---they are the most conservative section of the city!!

Malliotakis still has a chance because all the FDNY/NYPD will come out in South Shore...

But Rose will probably win....he'll have to make peace again with the NYPD after marching at a Black Lives Matter rally

Will SI secede if a Afro Latina DSA wins? You think they will put up with that?

It’s a congressional seat so they’d have to secede from the U.S.!

A more "modest proposal" is that it could "secede" from NY and become part of NJ, to which it is closer to anyway. I know all the uber nerds on the forum already know this, but Todt Hill on SI is the highest point on the coastal plain that runs from Florida to Montawk, aka the tidewater and back when the slave belt (with supposedly Long Island having the highest percentage of slaves anywhere circa 1700 or some such date). And decorating the top of that hill, is a set of perhaps the gaudiest gates in America.

Todt Hill, SI is an example that low-education, high attainment is possible. After Staten Island, they move to Florida....
