Someone who has a granddaughter who likes Paramore and got into the genre that way.

Probably plenty of those. A guy who was a left-wing student at the end of the 60s, was against Vietnam war, has always stayed progressive (at least culturally), is interested in alternative music.

A Boomer Republican who listens to emo may be more challenging to find.

I mean younger Boomers would’ve been in their mid-20’s when Revolution Summer happened. That’s still young enough to develop new music taste.
