Gary Clark Jr

Cold Blooded

(Bass Player - Me)

Original Bass player is Johnny Bradley. I love this bass line.

This is my poorly crafted version of the song for Sound Cloud I made this weekend. Played all instruments including the drums which were the hardest part mainly due to having two left feet.

Roy Hargrove's Crisol

Oh My Seh Yeh

(Bass Player: Jorge Reyes)

More of a Cuban trumpet feel, I love this bass line. It really drops a relaxed mood with the percussion which sounds fantastic for any overlying instruments to improvise on.

A simple Em9-D groove that holds so well.

Madonna's "Into the Groove".

That bass line slaps.

More obscure stuff?   Gang of Four's "Damaged Goods"

Right now, I'm listening to "Learning To Fly" by Pink Floyd.  I love the guitar playing in this song....masterful! It's from the 1987 Pink Floyd album "A Momentary Lapse of Reason"

All of the guitar playing from "Momentary Lapse of Reason" is bordering on phenomenal. One of my favourite albums.

Another favourite album is IV from Toto. And from that album comes this catchy little number:

Toto

I Won't Hold You Back

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6xZddEHSyM

(Bass Player: David Hungate)

It should have been a hit.

A very subtle and melodic bass player who fits into the song so well. This song was released in 1983, and has some great chord changes. You can see how these guys worked with Chicago.

This was the last album David played with the band before retiring to Nashville.

Straight after this album was recorded, Toto helped Michael Jackson produce the Thriller album.
