Damn "Mike88", I don't think I've seen you before but you're doing a great job keeping this forum updated on Portugal. Props to you man.

Thanks for the feedback. Smiley Cheesy I post more on the Portugal thread in the International forum than in this one, but I try to keep both updated at the same time. Smiley

Both these threads are excellent work from you.

This is just... whatever. Roll Eyes

Modernization of the Beira-Alta railroad line will take longer than its actual construction back in the 19th century

Ah, quite a lot of your stuff does sound familiar to us Wink

Well, several reasons. In the last 8 years or so, FCPorto has faced a lot of financial problems, with several penalties from UEFA. Regarding this, details of how the club was managed, the millions of euros that were given as prizes for the administration instead of investements in the team squad or the weird deals in players sales, were revealed. Plus, the club's weak results in the Portuguese League and other competitions put more preassure.

But, the "coup de gras" was basically last November 2023, when in a club general assembly, there were clashes between Porto fans as some fans, close to the club's Super Dragons ultras, aligned with Pinto da Costa, harassed and bullied other Porto fans, these critical of Pinto da Costa. This led to a criminal investigation that ended in the arrest of the Super Dragons ultras leader, who was very close to Pinto da Costa, in late January 2024. Many begged Pinto da Costa to run again, due to his old age and his long stay in power, as well the danger of losing this time, but he didn't saw the "writing on the wall".

This is missing a "not", presumably?
