No. It would require something like a very unpopular GOP incumbent combined with a very divisive GOP primary and a Democratic nominee who checks all the right boxes (basically a repeat of Louisiana 2015).

ehh even that would be hard w/o the black voter base that LA has

In the last twenty years which governor’s mansions has one party been shut out of?

Republicans: WA, OR, DE
Democrats: TX, NE, FL, SD, ND, ID, UT

Florida definitely stands out like a sore thumb on that list.

Given how great FL governors have been , it’s no surprise people don’t want to get rid of the incumbent party there .


OR is by far the most maddening given how terrible governors we have had since then especially Kate Brown
