Joe Hogsett is the mayor of Indianapolis. Do you think he runs for governor or senator in the near future?

I guess he could run for IN-7 when the seat will be open, but a statewide run seems far more challenging.

''Big City'' liberal mayors are rarely succesful in statewide races (see last year TN Gov race)

He's been there and done that.  He's been IN Secretary of State, and he ran against Dan Coats for the Senate in 1992 (and got creamed).

Hogsett's the kind of guy that's reminiscent of pols that can't win top of the ticket offices statewide.  He might be able to win a House seat, but he's a retread now.

I understand his point though. His victory was a fluke because Rosendale was awful, and he’s most likely losing in 2024.
