I doubt it, living in Macomb County. Most people I knew voted Nixon, and those who voted McGovern went with Carter or a left-liberal 3rd party in '76, not Ford.

Such a voter would be at least 65 y/o today.

And go a few dozen miles southwest and you get a Nixon,Mgovern,Ford,Carter county.
Quite true. Growing up my social circle pretty much consisted of a mile or so circle around our north Sterling Heights neighborhood.

"Southie" (Boston's Wards 6 and 7) was full of McGovern-Ford voters. I'm sure I rode the "T" with several in the 1980s.
