Fruit juice very rarely ever tastes like the fruit it's (ostensibly) made from. Grapefruit juice is one of them to me. Juice from an actual grapefruit tastes great, but commercial grapefruit juice just doesn't taste right.
I like actual grapefruit juice too. But mostly I drink not grapefruit "juice" but "nectar" - it's different, because in "nectar" you have more "real" juice added (up to 50%, the rest is water and sweeteners), and in "juice" you can have only up to 20% "real" fruit juice added. I drank both "juice" and "nectar" and I can say you can easily find the difference between these. That is in Europe, I don't know how it's in the USA.
