Left wing causes are more popular to the larger audience.

If 100 people walk down the street protesting, then chances are it will be a left wing cause.

"Spread the wealth to everyone. Down with billionaires! We love Bernie lalala!"

But more right wing causes like strict immigration control are not issues that people will walk down the street yelling or post on Twitter without being labelled racist.
