Re: Birmingham riots
« on: May 11, 1963 at 11:41:55 pm »

Any decent human being should stand with the Birmingham police. Rioting is NOT an acceptable solution to any problem. I have no doubt that the KKK bombers (if it was indeed them) will be brought to JUSTICE. Radicals like MLK and JFK only encourage this kind of lawlessness. Burning businesses and fighting police in the street won't bring you "civil rights" (aka forced equality).

Lmao so much for the 'wear a mask' talking point... Biden was hiding in his basement for nothing.
Trump will now win 350+ electoral votes. Oregon is in play.

Good lord, you guys freak out over everything. How do you possibly construe this as good for Trump? His response to the pandemic is so bad that high-level politicians are getting infected. Biden is expected to recover. Relax. Nobody will remember this when Biden wins Texas and Georgia by 5 points.

Trump just won re-election... I tried to warn you all... F-ck. Remind me again why the Democrats nominated someone nearing 80? Trump is definitely winning Minnesota and New Hampshire. GOP may even gain more seats in the Senate.

This was never a covid-free election, Biden is over 70 but is not obese, there will not be a sympathy bump because he is not the incumbent. The polls may be wrong again, but Biden will not be winning a secular trifecta

I'm really curious what it would look like during the Nixon-Kennedy election.

1960 Presidential Election Results & Exit Polls **live commentary thread**
« on: November 8, 1960, 01:02:55 am »

America will never elect a Catholic, that is why Richard Nixon will win. Ike is still popular because of the highways and now people can drive to the polls quicker. Jack Kennedy is not FDR and he won't win four terms, plus he is healthy and not in a wheel chair with polio. Nixon tried to get Ike to pardon Dr. King which will boost black voters. And the cold war is not good for Nixon either, he is from California and Massachusetts is much closer to Europe. People think Jack Kennedy will start a war but many people still trust Pat Nixon

If someone is foolish enough to deny service to someone simply because they're colored, that's their foolish decision. It makes no sense from a business perspective. Let them go out of business on their own.

I didn't vote for the Kennedy/Johnson ticket and am undecided for November (having voted for Truman, Ike twice, and Nixon in 1960), but I support this decision.

The Democratic Party just lost my vote for the foreseeable future, unless they abandon this absolute nonsense and start paying attention to middle Americans again. Voting for Goldwater now.

In 2000, there would be predictions that Bush will keep us out of war.

George the Dove, Al the Hawk by Maureen Dowd
In 1968, she would have written, "Richard the Dove, Hubert the Hawk".

Come on, "Dick the Dove" was right there.

Most of the Forum probably would be pro Reagan in 1980. This Forum is mainly compromised of college educated young white males which today is a Democratic Demographic but in 1980 was an demographic that went heavily for Ronald Reagan.

Atlas demographics aren't necessarily representative of larger groups though. Demographics data alone would tell us that you, Cody, PQG, and Vosem would be voting Democratic, but that's obviously not the case.
