Debates about whether or not Humphrey 1968-Nixon 1972 voters are racist, uneducated, rural or suburban, “hicks”. Similar debates about voters who were swayed by the Willie Horton ad.

Also, there would be a bunch of FDR apologists explaining why Japanese/German/Italian internment was necessary.

Ugh, yeah, partisan red avatars in the 1940s would be as unbearable as partisan blue avatars today. And I'm saying that as someone who mostly admires FDR.
Also in the 1910s.

I think discussion about West Virginia in 1988 would be “Reagan destroyed their unions” more than “they’re not racist like Virginians are”.
If we're being honest with ourselves, it'd probably look something like this.

1912 proves that America is coming around on the racial question
« on: November 5, 1912 at 11:48:29 pm »

Let's face it: Republicans were on the wrong side of history when it came to the race issue. It took a while for the rest of America to catch up with the South on the question of the negro, but with tonight's results it seems pretty clear-cut that the tables are turning and real, progressive action is going to be taken. The Democratic Party is back and the white race with it. I mean, come on-- it's 1912, people. Imagine still being against segregation and eugenics in 1912! And please don't attempt to blacksplain your pseudoscience of racial equality to me; honestly if you're not willing to accept the consensus among all social scientists that whites are superior to blacks, then your opinion is worth literally nothing. That type of speech is incredibly problematic, and I for one am very excited that President-Elect Wilson is planning to alter outdated elements of the Constitution like the first amendment. You guys are on the wrong side of history; get over it, losers. You can't halt progress.
“If the Yankees got their way during reconstruction, dogs and cats would be voting. Thank god the KKK liberated the South and stopped voter fraud.”

“To those who preach racial equality, I say, “reading about what happened to white families during reconstruction would change your mind.””

November 21, 1963: “I wonder whether Georgia, Alabama, and Mississipi will vote for Kennedy for another segregationist third-party candidate. It’s more likely that they’ll vote for Malcolm X than it is that they’ll vote Republican.”

1996: “Why are the Clintons talking about these things that nobody votes based on? Is Tipper Gore writing their speeches?”

2000: “Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Wolfowitz know from their experience not to nation-build. With their guidance, Bush will bring our troops home.”

GeneralMacArthur would complain about Ralph Nader and Michael Moore a lot in 2000-2004. In 1994 he would blame Ross Perot for the rise of Gingrich, and in 1988 he would blame Jesse Jackson for HW’s victory.

WASP style republicans were the equivalent of the Evangelicals in those days
I’m pretty sure Episcopalians weren’t the ones pushing for Prohibition.

This is the happiest day of my life! The crime rate will plummet to zero and domestic violence and poverty will be eradicated at last!

Ralph Nader screwed Gore out of this election. Bush and the Republican Congress will impose Christian theocracy and it will all be Nader’s fault.

Roosevelt’s Bull Moose campaign is going to take votes away from Taft and make Wilson President, and Wilson will bring back slavery.

I think I'm missing some context here. Did OSR express a similar sentiment during some recent incident?
I was referencing OSR’s views on sex ed, “don’t say gay”,  “critical race theory”, etc.

I can’t believe the SCOTUS would do such a thing. They ruled that there’s a Constitutional right to murder babies.

Is ER actually Catholic though? I thought he's Protestant?
I’m not sure, but I forgot whether it’s ER/ExtremeRepublican or EC/ExtremeConservative and didn’t want to bother going through lots of pages in threads to find out.

For the first time in my life, I will vote Republican
« on: July 11th 1896 at 1:00:00pm »

Democrats have always been the party of less government intervention in the economy, so I’ve always been a Democrat, but Bryan wants more intervention in the economy than McKinley, so I will vote for McKinley. If the Democrats keep going in a Bryanite direction, I’ll switch parties.

In 2001-2008, blue avatars would support the PATRIOT Act, Gitmo, and the Iraq War and red avatars would oppose those policies.

In 1968, she would have written, "Richard the Dove, Hubert the Hawk".
