Trump: "We will be back in some form":

https://www.ctvnews.ca/world/america-votes/donald-s-departure-president-trump-is-in-florida-now-1.5274229

Quote
His presidency over, Donald Trump said farewell to Washington on Wednesday but also hinted about a comeback despite a legacy of chaos, tumult and bitter divisions in the country he led for four years.

"So just a goodbye. We love you," Trump told supporters at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland where he walked across a red carpet and boarded Air Force One to head to Florida. "We will be back in some form."

There's no way Pompeo gets the nomination. He doesn't have the gravitas to win over Trumpists, but he's to Trump-y to win over moderates. He doesn't have a lane. He should have run for Senate last year.

If I were Pompeo, I'd run for Governor of Kansas in 2022. He'd probably be the strongest realistic candidate to take on Laura Kelly.

Mark Cuban again doesn't rule out a 2024 presidential run:

https://www.foxbusiness.com/sports/mark-cuban-president-2024-reason-only

Quote
Cuban told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on his podcast Wednesday that it would depend if he thought he was the “right person” for the job.

“Based on everything I know now, no. But I mean like you said, if things go south, it depends on how they go south and how far south and whether or not I thought I would be the right person. I wouldn’t do it just to do it. I would only do it if I thought I was the right person. We’ve got time so there’s a whole lot of other qualified people out there too,” Cuban told Robinson.

Honest question: Who seriously wants Mike Pompeo to be President?

More than half of Hongkongers in LIHKG, mostly due to his rhetoric regarding China

Her involvement in his official affairs during his tenure at both the CIA & State Dept. imply otherwise.

Gaetz's social media is reposting some stories from last year about no longer accepting PAC money. I don't see much of a reason for it besides similar Rubio-esque '24 posturing.

https://www.wmur.com/article/sen-tom-cotton-of-arkansas-tells-nh-republicans-hell-be-back-to-state-very-very-soon/35298479

some relevant segments:

Quote
Continuing his effort to make friends in first-presidential primary state New Hampshire, Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton told more than 350 NHGOP members Saturday that he fully supports the state’s first-in-the-nation primary and plans to return to the Granite State “very, very soon.”

Quote
He said that while Biden and the Democratic majority in Congress will most likely raise taxes and create more regulations, Biden’s immigration plan “is probably the most consequential policy that he and the Democrats are going to push.”

“The very same illegal aliens who bring fentanyl and drugs to New Hampshire and across the country will now be allowed to stay in our country,” he said. “Where is the empathy for American victims of illegal immigrant crime?”

Quote
“We had a very strong election, despite what you’ve seen in the last few days,” Cotton said. He cited New Hampshire as an example of GOP success at the state level, winning majorities in the Legislature and on the Executive Council.

Cotton said he has created a state and local companion political action committee to his federal PAC, the Republican Majority Fund.

“I can do even more now to help in local races in New Hampshire, to help you keep and grow your majority,” he said.

If true, then I guess Trump won't be the 2024 GOP presidential nominee:

OK, maybe not:

Hawley has apparently been planning to run for president in 2024 for decades now:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jan/25/josh-hawley-school-yearbook-2024-republican-run

Quote
Josh Hawley, the Republican from Missouri who faces calls for expulsion from the Senate over his support of Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn his election defeat, signed a friend’s eighth-grade yearbook “Josh Hawley, president 2024”.

The same yearbook named Hawley and the friend whose yearbook he signed among “future presidents”, the Kansas City Star reported.

Yeah, Jason Kander’s co-host on his podcast “Majority 54” went to college with Hawley and was pretty close to him personally, and apparently he styled himself as a future president even back then. This is a guy who’s actually been planning this for decades.

Not compared to his contemporaries. Most people who make credible bids for president have at least imagined the idea much earlier in their lives, and the majority have probably made certain preparations. Biden's been running since before 1984 at the latest and looking at a younger example:

Buttigieg is a weirdo too. It's not the aspiration that's weird, it's picking an exact year and trying to build a resume in time to run for President. Pete obviously wanted to run as soon as he was eligible whereas Hawley expected to build more experience first.

Not to mention, there's just an inherent difference between being named "Most likely to be President" by your classmates & calling yourself "president 2024."

Yeah. Like, Biden's wanted to be President his whole life, but he obviously hasn't always wanted to run and win in the year and under the conditions that he did. Hell, Trump was flirting with the idea of political office as early as the late 1980s but took another quarter-century to actually go through with it.

Looks like Hawley's not running? We'll see how long this lasts, but I could see this happening due to him trying to be re-elected as senator of Missouri.
