I dont think they would be the only Dems to challenge Harris. Harris would probably have one semi serious Challenger from the Left and one from the right. Max Rose could be the one on the right but I doubt hes dumb enough to think he has a chance in national primary at the moment but if Harris is unpopular a semi serious challenge could amount akin to Sanders 2016 but this all of course depends on how the Biden administration goes.
John Bel Edwards maybe?

Democath John Bel Edwards would be extremely interesting but it won't happen because muh anti-choice.

Meghan Markle harbors serious ambitions to run for president of the United States, according to a report.

After the Duchess of Sussex and husband Prince Harry dumped royal duties with their historic Megxit this year, the 39-year-old former "Suits" star now has her eye on the White House, a close friend told Vanity Fair.

"One of the reasons she was so keen not to give up her American citizenship was so she had the option to go into politics," the unidentified friend told the mag.

"I think if Meghan and Harry ever gave up their titles she would seriously consider running for president," the friend added of rumors of a 2024 run.

Her biographer, Omid Scobie, also previously claimed that the former actress "has her eyes set on the US presidency."

"Meghan is the embodiment of the American dream. One day we may see Meghan become president," the author of "Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family" previously told a documentary, Vanity Fair said.

Also of note: Various sources (like this blog post) have commented on Noem appearing at various events (like this Iowa one) that were also attended by Corey Lewandowski.  I guess there's speculation that Lewandowski might end up advising Noem if she does make a national run.

And here's another Lewandowski-Noem event:

Noem would be a decent GE candidate but she won’t ever win a primary

A Pence-Noem ticket would be too Midwestern, too white.

But it would bring back some of the Karens in Dublin, Ohio, in suburban Morris County, suburban LA, Orange County, etc.

If Republicans want a female candidate in 2024, they'd be better off nominating Nikki Haley (she left the Trump administration on good terms, and that will be important for his loyalists), Sarah Palin (she's still in tune with the base) or possibly as a longshot, Liz Cheney.

It’s questionable how much this actually has to do with 2024, since Iowa is still a (sort of) swing state, but should note that Pence did a campaign event in Iowa last week:

https://www.ketv.com/article/iowa-democrats-protest-vice-president-rally-supporters-praise-president-trump/34241916

This is also only questionably about 2024 (and I’m still skeptical that Don Jr. will run, but Don Jr. is doing a big campaign tour that’ll include the early caucus states of Iowa and Nevada:

Tim Scott seems like a choice that actually might make sense if Republicans want to win, but don't want to nominate Nikki Haley for some reason.

He's a minority, he's from a key early state in the primaries (South Carolina), can make inroads with a traditionally Democratic voting bloc (African Americans), and is relatively conservative.

Except for Illinois, these are all swing states.

Let's see what happens after November, but all of these stops have plausible deniability since he's campaigning for his dad.

Should be mentioned that while in New Hampshire, Haley gave a non-denial about 2024:

https://www.concordmonitor.com/surge-in-requests-for-absentee-ballots-On-the-Trail-by-Paul-Steinhauser-36565709

Quote
But Haley told the Monitor that it was far too early for such talk, emphasizing that “it would be foolish to look at a presidential race in 2024 when a year is a lifetime in politics.”

Speaking of 2022, many people have already announced they are running. Greg Abbott has a comedian to his right and Sarah Palin wants to run for Senate. Apparently, the Senator in Pennsylvania is retiring.

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/516796-rep-cedric-richmond-set-to-join-house-ways-and-means-committee

Congressman Cedric Richmond is going to take John Lewis' seat on the House Ways and Means Committee. Three future presidents- James Polk, Millard Fillmore, and William McKinley- served as Committee Chairman. Given his credentials, Biden connections, Sun Belt representation, and the recent racial unrest, he could be a powerful contender for president or vice president in 2024 or later if he wanted.

Tim Scott visited Iowa a few weeks ago:

https://caffeinatedthoughts.com/2020/09/tim-scott-joins-joni-ernst-for-fighting-for-iowa-tour-kickoff/

Also, if we want to go back a few years before this thread even started, there are a few Iowa visits from prospective 2024ers that I don’t think were mentioned in this thread….

Haley visited in the summer of 2019:

https://politicalwire.com/2019/06/01/nikki-haley-heads-to-iowa/

Sasse visited in 2018:

https://www.amestrib.com/news/20181026/sasse-visits-isu-to-discusses-divisions-in-foreign-policy

And Cotton visited it way back in 2017:

Well, this is interesting as it pertains to 2024.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/16/politics/larry-hogan-ronald-reagan-donald-trump/index.html

Quote
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, a Republican and outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, wrote in Ronald Reagan for president when he cast his 2020 ballot.

"I know it's simply symbolic. It's not going to change the outcome in my state. But I thought it was important to just cast a vote that showed the kind of person I'd like to see in office," Hogan told The Washington Post in an interview released Friday.

The vote makes Hogan one of the highest-profile Republicans who is not supporting Trump for reelection, though his decision to not back Democratic nominee Joe Biden could be seen as a way for him to refocus attention on his ongoing criticism of Trump and maintain standing in the Republican Party in case he decides to continue his political career beyond his current term in office.

The Maryland governor, a moderate Republican speculated to be considering a 2024 presidential bid, has long been critical of Trump, and the pandemic has exacerbated the tension between them.
