Neither, as the benefits of each outweigh the downside.

If there is one invention I could erase from reality, it would be air conditioning.

Yeah I don't really see the need to want to rid them

and both were inevitable.  The moment we were able to make an engine with a specific level of power (say, 15 hp for an hour out of a thing that weighs 200lbs fully fueled) and a car type thing was going to be invented.  Steam, electrical, internal combustion, something was going to get the job done.  In the same way, the moment we started tossing bytes at each other all over the world, something like social media was inevitable.

Both have contributed to the downfall of the planet. As much as I hate cars, parking, traffic, and how much of our infrastructure and space is devoted to them and all that; they at least serve a practical purpose unlike social media. In connecting us it has divided us to a point of no return.

Look, I love the heat too, and air conditioning often irritates my skin, but some people actually need it to survive and stuff. Tongue

Cars atleast have a direct functional purpose, and driving is fun.

Come to the New York metropolitan area and see if you still feel that way.

Social media sites in the 90s and early 00s were fine. I would prefer that they remained like that though.

Hah. When there's a lot of traffic, it isn't too good of course, and I'm glad I don't have to drive in London much. Birmingham has better motorway access and I can be in or out of the city in 15 mins.

Driving is certainly a lot better outside cities.
