Also, she didn't even say she was a huge fan, she was on a charity stream (good for her, btw) and brought up a couple of the most popular Nintendo games of that era. I don't see a reason to be so cynical about it.

Back in 2001, when everyone at my school were excited about the TV series, I decided to watch one episode to see what's the big deal. That experience successfully immunized me from all Pokemon-related things forever.
