the influence of Spotify and other streaming sites means that most teens now have a much more diverse (sometimes even esoteric) music taste, and has certainly allowed more people to listen to album bands. Obviously they listen to it an different context, but they're fairly popular amongst the rap crowd, for example.

I'll say this: they're probably more fondly listened by today's teens than the music that was popular amongs angsty teens in the early 00's: your Limp Bizkits and Linkin Parks.

Yeah, I see Nirvana and Beatles and Stones t shirts all the time on teenagers/college kids. The rise of hip-hop s part of the reason rock music has fallen out but also because 2010's rock music has largely sucked.
