NJ Senate President Donald DiFrancesco is elevated to the Governorship after Jim Florio is elected president in 1992.

DiFrancesco, a Republican, is first in line to the governorship and runs for a full term.

Democrats choose Rep. Bob Torricelli to run for the party.
