If Warren is a progressive she will endorse Sanders rather than stay neutral against a right wing corrupt Democrat. Moderates like Pete Klobuchar Beto endorsed Biden. If Warren chooses to stay neutral between a fight among the progressive and right wing corporate wing , then she will showing that is where she stands ideologically & politically. This is even more important bsince Klobuchar Pete handed Biden Super Tuesday & Warren cost Sanders Massachusetts Minnesota Maine Texas etc.

After their back-and-forth in January, I thought it was pretty clear that Warren would rather endorse Biden or no one over Sanders.

Just cause they're in the same progressive wing doesn't make it shocking or surprising.

If Warren endorses Biden, then Bernie has full authority to attack her for the rest of her life. I don't think he will though, he is too nice of a person.

If she doesn't endorse Bernie, it's basically an endorsement of Biden at this point.

No it isn't? Y'all really want everyone to immediately worship the cult leader or else you're against him.

It's a 2 person race between Bernie and Biden, and Warren has done a lot more to help Biden lately.

One week ago, everyone’s criticism of Warren was that she was attacking all the moderates too much and not doing enough to damage Bernie.

Yes, she attacked Bloomberg a lot, but she attacked Bernie and not Biden at the last debate. Both of those actions helped Biden. Bloomberg wasn't polling as well against Bernie in a 1v1 race.

Can her campaign's corpse stay afloat until Sunday at least? I've got money riding on it.

As I said in the Super Tuesday thread, I voted proudly for Elizabeth Warren yesterday.

After the obviously disappointing results, I hope she will now drop out.  And I do expect her to drop out.

The vitriol of Bernie's supporters toward her is inexcusable.  If you want to know why you don't feel welcome in the Democratic party, look at how you treated others who completely supported your agenda, but just declined to be absorbed into your cult of personality.

Elizabeth Warren didn't cost Bernie Sanders the nomination.  If anything, Sanders' supporters cost Warren the nomination, and killed their own chances of a real progressive policy revolution in the process.
Nailed it.

Just for that, I hope she drops out on Saturday now.

RIP Liz. You would have been a better challenge to Biden than Bernie. A shame.

She won't endorse Bernie.  1) She doesn't support socialism. 2) She's not going to hitch her wagon to a sinking ship.  She wants to have a future in national politics.

I don't think she should endorse anybody until a nominee wins on their own. She's done enough for Bernie basically acting as a shield for him in the debates. She doesn't owe Sanders anything especially considering how duplicitous he's always been with her campaign.

This will probably help Biden. I think Sanders support among Warren voters is a myth.

Blue check marks are going to blame sexism, but Warren ran a terrible campaign and was undone by her poor political instincts.

Where are you getting this from? Warren is the least demagogue-y person in this race...

The guiding philosophy of her political campaign has been to reduce reasoned political deliberation to an aesthetic of details and seriousness.

Needless to say, the effect of this is to shut down any actual reasoned deliberation. It amazes me that so many observers fail to recognize this. All of it amounts to a massive appeal to the prejudices and emotional impulses of people who imagine themselves to be above prejudices and emotional impulses.

I think there's a lot to critique Warren on (especially her cynical and unwarranted deployment of sexism accusations) but Averroes has gone off the deep end in the last several months to the point that I stopped reading his posts in this thread because they're entirely predictable.

Better to be predictable than wrong.

So your entire argument for demogaugery is that she makes people who are detail-oriented feel like they're validated in a campaign? That's a stretch.

It's demagoguery because those feelings are based in style rather than substance.

Huh

Details literally are "substance."

I imagine she'll endorse Biden since attaching herself to the Sanders campaign could cost her political capital if it doesn't pay off. Endorsing Biden might give her influence over policy and maybe even cabinet picks in a potential administration.

Would you judge the sturdiness of a bridge by the number of pages in its design book? Of course not.

If she ran on the same platform but had great political instincts (which I presume, in this analogy, is the "sturdiness" which you refer to), then that "sturdiness" would be pretty damn good even though the platform remains unchanged, yeah. It's not the substance that determines the sturdiness; it's the performance in attempting to execute it.
