Recently we've been shocked to learn Edouard Balladur is alive at 90. But then came this even bigger shocker.

Last in the news with the inquiries into the repression of the 1968 student protests in Mexico, but even that was a decade ago now.

Echeverría also kind of entered public consciousness recently because of Alfonso Cuarón's Roma, at least as far as I am concerned.

The oldest living ex-head of state/government is Yasuhiro Nakasone though. Age 101.

The still living ex-head of state/government whose term in office is the farthest back into the past:
Mustafa Ben Halim, prime minister of Libya from 1954 to 1957. Alive at age 98.

I guess we've jinxed it.

Ironically, I've read of him earlier today in context of Jaruzelski's state visit to Japan during his tenure.
