Ideally, neither. But in terms of where I'd rather live, I guess I'll begrudgingly pick North Carolina.

Politically, South Carolina is the one that is more tolerable to me because it isn't such a c***tease for Democrats like North Carolina is. It's predictable, yet on occasion even surprises us by producing Joe Cunningham.

North because it doesn't have as much of a ridiculously racist history, allowed the PV before the Civil War, and its second largest religion is more conventional.

Charlotte and the Research Triangle are better than anything SC has got.  Plus I like Asheville more than Charleston.
