how many member does the CDP have now?

As of now, going into our convention this February, we have seventeen members.  I don't know about the other political parties -they haven't exactly been kept updated recently as ours have.

Since someone has registered himself in Puerto Rico, will someone please register themselves in either the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, Wake, or Midway?  Tongue

I'll return for now, as it seems people are strongly considering the Parliamentary System amendment. I'll also be running for Southeast Lt. Governor as a way of returning to the fold. Official thread upcoming.

It's good to see you back, and you will have the full support of the Christian Democratic Party in this campaign.  Smiley

It's not a joke.  It's just that I haven't stayed in one party very long recently, and I keep trying new parties.

Oh. Well I took my cue from your first sentence when you admitted that you had virtually no party allegiance.  So I assumed that this registration was no different in that regard.

If I may ask, why are you shopping around for a political party to affiliate yourself with if you have no intention of having any loyalty to the party that you joined?  Why don't you simply register yourself as an independent?

An interesting choice of parties.  So what part of the platform that Afleitch sketched out did you agree with?

I feel guilty for leaving the ACA. Sad

It really won't be that hard simply changing the name of your party to the AFRNC since it is pretty much its carbon copy.  You could have had Keystone Phil (assuming he is ACA chairman) call a vote on whether to change the name of the ACA back to the AFRNC.

After having thought it over, it may not really be possible to shape the AFDNC as a communitarian party with the sheer number of left-liberals and liberal libertarian Democrats on this site (and the tepid response from fellow CDP members to my proposal), so I will switch back to the CDP:

I don't see why your party needs to agree with your views 99% of the time. The AFDNC may well become a socially and economically leftist party again. If so, why can't a socially moderate and economically leftist person be a member?
I expect it to reflect the real-life versions - the AFDNC will insist on social leftism and the AFRNC will insist on economic rightism...not to mention the sheer weight of numbers would render communitarianism powerless in either party. As I said, forum statistics. Wink

The CDP should remain independent of either party, and play the role of the swing-vote in what I expect to be two major, roughly evenly-divided parties.
