Per F.L. 11-1, I request that my name be stricken from the voter rolls.

May I ask why?

Thank you.  Now, are we supposed to run for office?

Well you can. Elections are held every two months and the next one wont be until October. That will be the Presidential election. Just get involved and see where it takes you.

You can also open up newspapers, PACs, think tanks, start new parties, pressure the politicians, write up legislation that you want passed and send it to your Senators.

Also look at the Wiki as well. Just click on the afewiki button and read over some the the useful pages, like statutes which tells you the current laws on the books or the Second Consitution.

Fantasy elections, ie the Republic of Atlasia. Atlasia is a fantasy country where people can run for President, Senator, or Governor of one of the Five Regions as well as be a cabinet member or a judge. This is where you register with your name, state, and the party that you would like to join. More information can be found here.

Good to see you back.  Maybe sooner or later (hopefully sooner) we'll see with an 'R' next to your name. Wink

That may happen.  Smiley

One small question, though, that I invite you (as well as anyone else) to answer: is it required of any prospective Republican that they must be rigidly, ideologically opposed to even the notion of raising taxes?  Because if so, there is no way I will ever join the GOP.  The issue of taxation is not one I attach any ideological or principled importance to.  I am as open to raising taxes as I am to cutting them (or keeping them the same), depending on the circumstances.

I don't think any party leader has demanded regidity on the party positions from members for at least two years now. Parties in Atlasia are really just conglomerations of people that band together to give themselves a name and that's about it. Parties nowadays have very little in the way of actual control, authority, or discisions concerning policy.

As party chairman, I exclude you from the party.

If you find somewhere in the rules where you can do that, have fun.  However, I will remain a member of the party.  Think Joe Lieberman or Lincoln Chafee

Don't be an ass. If we doesn't want you in his party you should do him a favour and leave. Don't continually pester people. If you actually joined his party because you like the platform that is okay but I would consider it proper manners to probably stay out if he doesn't want you to be a part of the organization. I, however, probably see this as some what to taunt him because he left the Dems after you joined them. If it's not please tell me I'm wrong.

Just because we are trying to simulate political activity doesn't mean we have to be as mean-spirited and nasty as actual politicians. I have enough of that in the real world thank you very much.

You need 25 posts, however, like always I am suspicious when people sign up for fantasy politics immediatley

I signed up immediately for fantasy politics, it's not always a red flag.

Well welcome to the party but by the world liberal we don't mean it in the exact way that people in the US use the term. The National Liberal Coalition, or NLC, is a economically centrist-centre right and socially liberal party. You could compare us, in some ways, to the DLC in the United States or to the vast amount of liberal parties in Europe, the Free Democrats of Germany, the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy in the Netherlands, and, to an extent, the Liberal Democrats in the UK. I don't really know much about your opinions, you may indeed fit with the NLC in its views and orientation, I just don't want you to be confused about what type of party we are.

P.S. What are the parties now?
You might fit in with the National Liberal Coalition, or NLC.

I guess I will join NLC.

The Federalists may be a good fit as well, along with the PLP. They are all on the Wiki.
