I know, right? Maybe one day his incompetence will rise to the level of Culture King, Meeker, or Ebowed's governorships!

Culture King was inactive and I publicly criticized him, but Meeker and Ebowed's governorships have not been incompetent.

You seem to be a bit on the left-wing side of the DA. No harm, of course. I welcome left-wingers no matter the party. Wink

What is the ILPish socially liberal, economically centrist freedom loving party these days? Is the Southeast still dirty?

The DA, of course, fits both of the above Smiley

So does a significant portion of the JCP. Bacon King, Bullmoose.. Wink

I do this very grudgingly. I'm simply too far to the Left to really consider myself a "Centrist". Wink

Probably not, just this incessant recruiting of people with practically no posts. It's ruining the game.
i seem to remember Marokai making the same complaint  a few months ago, one that stands in particular was asserting Dallasfan, who is currently representing you in the senate, and at the ConCon  and others were "conclusively zombies" . Moral of the story is, give new posters a chance before you you begin crusading against them.

but this isint the place to be arguing this, its only polluting the thread.

I also suspected the same thing about Vane long before he was outed as Hamilton. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong. And I've apologized to Dallas.

I wouldn't call them all Hamilton either, but it's pretty clear there's some obsessive level of recruiting newbies going on here. People that don't really know anything about Atlasia and have practically no posts who are sheparded along by Populares leadership doing whatever they're told, serving as increased voting support, and as paper candidates whenever they need a stand-in.

Whether people like this fact or not, it is most definitely not healthy for the game in any way. And it only adds to our inability to change the game in any meaningful way because these new recruits have no history and no context in which to view these efforts, do whatever leadership informs them of, and I'd be willing to bet money on half these new recruits not even of age to get a learner's permit.

I can't speak for some of the other new guys, but if it was me you were betting on you would lose that bet.

I don't understand this hostility towards new people, but it seems to me that if nobody new tried to join your cliquish game then number of people that leave over time would cause the game to eventually fall apart because of a lack of people.  I have been a member of this site since April and just decided to pop on over here and check out this sub-forum.  The Populares seemed the best fit for my political views so I joined them.  Besides, a friend of mine from another forum, Zacoftheaxes, is also a Populare.

Yes the Populare leadership did suggest I run for the SE Legislature and I thought "sure, why not?"  I guess because I'm just a paper candidate and a Hamilton sock I don't have a chance.  Maybe I ought to go back alternatehistory.com.

I'm happy to have you here, and I have nothing against newbies. My only issue is that alot of people like to recruit newbies from anywhere they can to beef up their numbers and win everything, not because they deserve to, but because they essentially stuffed the voter rolls.

It's also a big problem sometimes because there are huge and longstanding systemic issues Atlasia needs to solve to fix itself. It's really difficult to change the game when new people who don't really have a historical perspective on Atlasia and have nothing in which to view the proposed changes to the game. This often leads to the party bosses dictating to the newbies and newly added footsoldiers to vote against the changes without having a proper understanding.

I'll happily give you the benefit of the doubt, I just ask that you, and other people new to Atlasia, try to keep their minds open and learn things for themselves, instead of letting the party leaders use you for their own gain.

What we should do is open Casino Atlasia: Recruitment Betting Pool to place bets on potential new recruits, when they will join, and the party they will join. It's so much fun to call them privately these days that we should make it an official sport.

With the Democratic Alliance in disarray, I have been convinced by a friend to do this:

justW353
Populares
Massachusetts

Sad

I think the JCP would have been a better fit for you, but I'm sure you know what you're doing. Smiley

The Populares have a prominent and growing moderate wing, and we're more than happy to have that.

Oh give it time, you'll have your moderate wing. I see a few people in the waiting to jump over to your party.

Tick, tock..

The RPP has become a respectable party, and though I don't support RPP politicians THAT often and our respective parties have a large variety of disagreements, but they have become easier to work with lately, and with a new influx of moderates and sensible individuals, things could.. well they could be alot worse. Tongue

Recently I've started to call the RPP "the reasonable right." I hope I can continue to do so, and so far I think I still can.

Looks like Phil soon will be teabagged by lefties taking over his party from inside.

Fun.

They can't take it over any more than I can "take over" the JCP. I could claim that I am the Chairman of the JCP and set the agenda. That doesn't make it true.

I'm going to give these members the benefit of the doubt. I welcome anyone interested in making this a more fun experience, not just conservatives.

If this can become a diverse political party like DA used to be, I wish you success.

Calling the DA a "political party" is a bit generous, I think.
