He comes from a political family with roots in the area and the seat is pretty Republican? That's all I got.

This county is part of Appalachia, a region which has shifted from D to R quite rapidly over the past 2-3 decades or so. Many voters in these areas are registered to the Democratic party (or, in please without party registration, consider themselves Democrats) but have been voting Republican for high-level offices. However, they still vote D for down-ballot offices, and this is one such example.

Yes they do vote D for offices like Sherriff etc but even they know its a mostly non partisan job, why would they elect a D for delegate to send someone to Richmond to give Ds a majority and maybe it won't be R+56 for delegate it will still be around R+40

Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

I'm guessing Kiser is some sort of god-tier local notable. She went to Harvard Medical School and is certified in pediatrics so maybe she's a beloved family doctor.

I checked her background, she did go to Harvard and everything but mostly travelled the world and only came back to this county last year after leaving Chicago. She did start a clinic but this is insane.

Honestly her resume is kinda impeccable... clearly way too overpowered to just run for delegate in SWVA imo lol

Yeah she seems like the type of #retail politician who is stuck in a super red area.
Can I just remind people this was a Corey Stewart plus 30 county.

Is that Will Wampler any relation to William C. Wampler or William C. Wampler Jr.?

They're actually the same person.  William Wampler has systematically drained the life from unsuspecting coal miners for centuries now to sustain his immortality.
