Maine and arguably Michigan should be dark blue.

Maine and arguably Michigan should be dark blue.

Actually no this was Before Romney's Let Detriot Go Bankrupt statement that made him very unpopular in the midwest. Many pundits thought Romney would be stronger then McCain in the Rust Belt just weaker in the West vs Obama and in the South vs Hillary.

I have MO and NC flipping because IMO those states went where they are due to Palin being on the ticket(I think she cost the ticket NC and maybe IN but helped McCain win MO). I kept IN Dem though as I think Romney probably underperforms with religious right voters in that state(Turnout wise).

Also who thinks Mittens might have lost Orange County?

I don't generally think he would do worse in these suburban counties than Mccain but I think he would have narrowly lost Orange county due to a Vietnamese shift?

I'd probably keep the map the exact same as the actual 2008 map.

This. Anyone that things Mr. "I like being able to fire people" and "Corporations are people my Friend" Romney is going to fare better than McCain in 2008 they're delusional. The Democrats were able to tar and feather Romney with his record at Bain in 2012, they'd have a field day with it in midst of the worst financial crisis since 1929.
