I already stated that impeachment is a waste of resources and we should be concentrating on the homeless crisis. The GOP will return the favor, if Pelosi doesn't hold a vote on the Floor, to give GOP supeona rights; as a result, Pelosi, who lives in SF, has the worst homeless crisis. That's why Harris won't be Prez, due toFeinstein, as well, living in SF with the worst homeless crisis

Wait hang on, what does the California homeless crisis have to do with impeachment, or with Harris struggling?

Are you seriously attempting to question Olawakandi?

He's new, and probably not yet fully aware of the enigma that is Olawakandi. Smiley

Oh I've been noticing the weird takes, but I didn't realize they had quite a reputation.

I think someone needs to whisper into the ears of Senate Republicans that they can remove him from office and bar him ever holding office again. He'd be out and prosecuted by whoever can get their hands on him and he wouldn't be holding any MAGA speeches from prison. There would be a brief outrage from the base, but he wouldn't be able to get anyone once he's out.

Random thought: I wonder how the 2020 State of the Union Address will go amidst or after the impeachment? For all his faults, this year Trump gave a halfway sound speech, probably not happening next year. If there even is a State of the Union.

Democrats better get trained prosecutors to do their questioning in the public hearings. They work so much better than the members of Congress.

This is a smart move By Nancy and great timing

She allowed the GOP to build their entire defense of trump on the claim that the process was unfair to him and this puts them in a tough spot now that they have to actually vote on it.

She basically gave GOP a wish list of everything they claimed they wanted and then she goes even further by having them vote on giving trump due process rights

from A PR standpoint this is a disaster for the GOP and trump
once that vote happens the GOP defense will be even weaker than it already is and trump will now be in a position where any further attempt at obstructing congress will now be used to justify articles of impeachment. trump may try to spin it but as the old saying goes "be careful what you wish for"

Trump and GOP wanted this vote and now they are going to get it

What's hilarious is that the Republicans are throwing tantrums and demanding the hearings be open to the public as if Nancy and the Democrats are afraid to do so... based on these bombshells the witnesses have been dropping, they really overplayed their hand and made themselves look like fools (as always).

they just wanted to lock in behind closed door deposition testimony before public hearings.  this probably means they have collected a ton of damning evidence already that they will just re-question on during open hearings now that the testimony is locked in.

Many are. Prosecuting attorneys in liberal areas often start careers in electoral politics.

In any event, the Democratic party is rich in attorneys, so you can count on Democrats doing an excellent job of grilling anyone culpable.

Everybody knows what Trump did and once it's all laid out, who wants to be the person who knew and didn't say anything? Everybody who objected is going to come forward and I suspect even those who went along will now act like they had objections.
