A pair of heartbreaking losses for Carolina over the past two games — D*ke won at the buzzer, UVA with 0.3 on the clock tonight, both at home. It's been a down year, but this team's been snakebit.

I did get to finish the night with a pair of unique delights: Bill Walton calling a UCLA game (he made bear noises at one point) and a CSU-Fullerton–Cal Poly game that I started watching in 2OT and finished as a 105-101 Fullerton win in quadruple overtime.

Frankly think it’s kind of ridiculous that you can’t watch the #2 or the #4 team in the country (even if those are both gonna fall pretty rapidly after both lost) on national TV as each faces one of their best conference opponents, but I don’t make the rules

#6 Northeastern vs. #3 Towson [CAA tournament] – 7:30pm

There are gonna be a lot of great games in the championship bracket that we just don’t know yet — look out for ETSU playing the Western Carolina–Mercer winner on Sunday afternoon and a potential UNC-Greensboro–Furman matchup that evening, as well as the possibility of UNI vs Bradley and Loyola vs Indiana State on Saturday (and a championship game on Sunday). The Mountain West championship game will also be on Saturday. I picked a handful of conference championship games, but I can’t include the best of them and still get this up before the weekend.

I really wish they would have ceremoniously announced the field that made the Tournament.  I say that not only as an Illini fan that wanted to see our uncharacteristically long drought (since 2013) come to an end but also as a fan very sympathetic to a program like Rutgers and how much they deserved a bid/how meaningful it would be to hang that banner in their arena.
I feel that, but it's definitely something they couldn't do without playing the conference tournaments. Memphis or Wichita State, for example, could've made enough of a run in the AAC tournament to bump them from the last four out to the last four in — doesn't seem fair that they'd go down in history as having missed the tournament when they very well could've made it.
