I would support a Republican over Joshua Collins. His foreign policy is completely f**king stupid- he supports trading with Iran, North Korea and Venezuela, he supports withdrawing all foreign involvement which would lead to tens of thousands of people dying, he says Israel is committing genocide and thus reveals himself as a dumbass who doesn't give a sh**t about actual genocide, and he wants to unilaterally dismantle the US of nuclear weapons and put it at the mercy of the rest of the world.

Anyone supporting him is supporting the creation of a hellworld controlled by China and Russia, terrorism and (actual) genocide. Atlas #progressives really need to stop salivating over any dumbass who calls himself a socialist.

All true, but especially the last paragraph.

It suits the Russians to make up fluff, to exaggerate their power, and to see Americans stuck in the Cold War mentality to buy into the Russia stronk narrative.
In fact Russian hackers are NOT as powerful as people may think; in fact Trump is not actually in the pay of the Russian President; and in fact Russia lacks a major number of spies in this country that have power in high places. Russia is living in the mere shadow of the Soviet Union - it has to look the part if people are to continue to keep thinking of them in similar light.

I understand that you are having difficulties coming to terms with the fact that your candidate got himself annihilated in a way few believed possible by the nice lady from Minnesota, but making Atlas threads is not a healthy coping mechanism.

do you honestly believe this is an accurate depiction of what happened?
I have never made a joke on the US Election Atlas.

What voter group do you think is going to swing to Klobuchar because she belittled Mayor Pete for losing some election?  I guess her numbers might go up because she got a lot more airtime than she has in the past and her poll numbers are so low right now, but I don't see how this helped her in any way and I don't think attacking him histrionically is going to make his supporters in Iowa suddenly not like him.

A New Hope isnt better than ROTS or ROTJ .Its still a very good movie but the plot in ROTS is far much deeper and emotional , the action is far far better and the characters are much more fleshed out. ROTJ is also better as the force is far much more explored in ROTJ than ANH , the main villain is much better(Palpatine>Tarkin) , and even the highlight of ANH(Its final battle) is done better in ROTJ than in ANH

Step back and ask yourself, who is it that pays interest on the "national debt"? Is it you, the citizen?

No. It is the Federal Government.

Total US debt is $75 trillion. Government debt is $23 trillion.

What proportion of the difference, $52 trillion, is corporate debt vs individual debt?

If your point is that private debt is a problem if it gets to be too much, yes indeed, it is! (However, one should not go overboard to conclude that all private debt is everywhere and always a problem - for example, it is normal for businesses to take on some loans/debt to finance new investment).

That doesn't have anything in particular to do with Federal government debt though.

Indeed, if the US Federal Government tries to pay down its debt by raising taxes or decreasing spending, then that tends to increase private debt further.

Suppose that a U.S. citizen has college tuition + mortgage + auto loan debt of $300,000

The citizen is planning to pay down their debt by $1000, down to $299,000. But then the government raises taxes on the citizen by $1000 to "pay down the national debt." In that case, the citizen doesn't have $1000 to pay down their own private debt, which remains at $300,000. So the citizen is worse off.

Auto loans are a scam to keep people poor. Buy used on the aftermarket, put the money in the bank and just keep cycling through used cars when they break. You will have saved thousands upon thousands of dollars and that is more valuable then driving around in a status symbol that loses value from the minute it is acquired.

Student loans as administered have served to dump millions of people with worthless degrees into saturated fields by promising them a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow at graduation, from the time they were toddlers.

Look I get it: Principles. Ideology.

But beating Trump and eliminating the threat he represents is top priority.

So with that said: Some of you Dems need to put things in perspective and learn to swallow your pride if Bloomberg is the nominee.

I mean, I would say so. "LGBT" now currently is less just homosexuals, bisexuals, and trans people, and now more of an umbrella for virtually all people who aren't explicitly heterosexual and/or cisgender. People also consider pansexuality to be LGBT despite not being apart of the acronym. Although, like, it's whatever, man. Sexuality and gender are social constructs anyways, so it's best to just, like, live and let live, maaaaan.

Just don't diddle kids and animals, that's all.

I don't get the Abrams hype. Her highest office was GA state house, and she whined about losing the governor race, refusing to concede for months. What a loser.

You're not being asked to die in a muddy trench. You're not being asked to work 14-hour shifts in an overcrowded hospital filled with sick people. You're not under house arrest. You're being asked to stay home for a while and collect TrumpBucks. You can even go outside to walk the dog or go for a run. If you can't get on board with that, I'm sorry, you are selfish.

Maybe instead of moaning about if you can go to a sporting event, you should be using this time to call friends and loved ones you haven't talked to in a while, learning a new skill, developing that business idea you always wanted to try, go explore a National Park you haven't been to (they're free now), or anything that will make you come out of this crisis a better version of yourself.

Voting isn't marriage, it's public transport.  You're not waiting for "the one" who's absolutely perfect; you're getting the bus.  And if there isn't a bus to your destination, you don't just not travel--you take the bus going closest.

So funny how these people are threatening to not vote for Biden the same way they clearly didn't vote for Bernie.

They were never going to vote for any Democratic nominee. Not even Senator Bernie Sanders.

Note that during the week in February where it looked like Bernie would get the nomination, Howie Hawkins was gearing up to run against him, attacking him as "just another liberal politician." The Green Party exists solely to win elections for the GOP. I'm bummed about the way the primary turned out and Biden was far from my first choice, but Bernie and his movement are clearly winning,  and in 2-3 cycles, we'll get a Leftist nominee and eventually a Leftist president. Until then, we have to prevent the GOP from stacking the judiciary with Far Right Hacks.

The bolded section, especially the underlined part, can't be stressed enough.

Of course. When most white "allies" say "vote like black women", they project their own political views and desires onto them.

Hassan of NH. She's going to be the female Bill Nelson, losing to a popular Governor.

By that logic, she already was the female Rick Scott.

Everyone is going to be the next Bill Nelson and/or Rick Scott at some point in their life.

Makes me wish I had that post handy where I referred to the concept of the Middle Ages as having been an Italian invention to cast aspersions on the "barbarians" (by which they basically meant every non-Italian that trampled across the former Roman Empire since the Western Empire fell).
