Worth pointing out that Lowey is the Appropriations Chair. She leads the House's most powerful committee. Maybe we'll have an Appropriations Chair who is under 80 next time.

So far there is only one declared candidate, Mondaire Jones. He was originally challenging Lowey from the Left, but now has the field to himself(for now).

The Clintons (Bill and Hillary, I mean) are based in Lowey's district. It wouldn't take any effort at all for her to move there tomorrow, or at least set up a campaign in the area. I don't think this proves anything.

The whole idea of dynasties is stupid because voters still select candidates and because no one should be barred from office because of their last name. It's not like people can pick their family and they might have a real interest in public affairs.
