The hidden White Catholic vote is probably keeping Biden alive in the Midwest and New England. We'll see how the race looks in April 2020, but liberal identification alone isn't gonna power Warren to victory here.

These Ohio and Wisconsin polls look quite bad for Warren. We know Biden is way ahead in the south and Warren is doing mediocre in New England. She should be doing better in the Midwest. These polls are consistent with the ones that have Biden leading nationally, not the ones that have Warren catching up.

I'd like some good polls of the West. I have a feeling that Biden would get blown out of the water in Washington state or Oregon, for example.

I imagine Warren is doing better than Biden among the under 45 crowd, but this isn’t a great poll for her, since she’ll not only want to win Wisconsin but win it by a decent margin.

I don't know really why you'd bother polling Wisconsin at this point. It's way late into the primary cycle so anything could change by the time it votes. It will only really come into play in a super contested primary. By the time Bernie won it in 2016 he was already mathematically eliminated from the nomination.

This is Biden's saving grace--and how he will remain quite competitive in these regions.  Add his significant black support (especially in the South)--and you see why it will not be easy to take him down.

Just a reminder Hillary was neck and neck with Bernie in 2016 and she lost by 14 points. So polling here is not great obviously

But regardless, it will not matter much. If Biden loses NH, IA and NV all his leads in the later states wont matter

Why are people acting like hovering around 30 in a friendly state is great for Biden?

The question is whether he has anywhere to grow, because most of these candidates won't be in the race. Biden polling in first at 28 now could easily translate to Biden losing at 38 by primary day without a single backer of his leaving.

It's so wild. Biden leading by 6 is great for him and bad for Warren, which is totally bunk. They're afraid of Biden losing and trying to make any lead of his GREAT and anywhere Warren lags behind HORRIBLE.

I fail to see why Wisconsin should be a good state for Biden? I would think it would be good for Warren.. lots of whites, lots of liberals.

This, and we've seen a scattering of reputable and non-reputable national polls showing Warren surging, perhaps even ahead of Biden. Instead, the two Fox polls today indicate Biden is not trailing or even tied with Warren nationally.

And I also liked this poll as a proxy for his standing in IA and NH -- if moderates, white Catholics, and non-college whites stick with him at these rates in IA and NH, he'll remain competitive.

It's really too early to tell that Fox's Wisconsin and South Carolina polls mean too much by suggesting that Warren isn't very competitive with Biden at this point. Fox is a quality pollster, but so are Monmouth, Quinnipiac, and YouGov (they might have pro-Warren house effects). Iowa and New Hampshire polls are showing Warren gaining and becoming competitive with Biden.

There's a lot more evidence suggesting that Warren truly is competitive with Biden than not so no one should treat this poll or any one poll for that matter as gospel. These two Fox polls could easily be outliers and right now, they pretty much are until more evidence suggesting that Biden is ahead nationally more than where he is right now becomes available.
