The three original Indiana Jones movies, all pretty equally, plus Lincoln are my top 4. 5th is pretty close between War of the Worlds, Schindler's List, Bridge of Spies, and The Post, but voted Bridge of Spies.

The five that stand in a tier alone for me are:
Jaws
Schindler's List
Close Encounters
Raiders of the Lost Ark
West Side Story

Hardly among my favorite films but all certainly very commendable.

Just five ? !
It's hard to choose just 5. But I struggled to reduce the checkmarks down to these (in no particular order) ...

- Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977)
- Schindler's List (1993)
- Saving Private Ryan (1998)
- War of the Worlds (2005)
- Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)  (But all the sequels were fun to watch.)

Other movies I wanted to really vote for were ...

- Minority Report (2002)
- A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
- Jaws (1975)
- Duel (1971)

The lack of love for Jaws is baffling. It still holds up and it's #2 after Jurassic Park for me.

This was very tough but ultimately I went with (in chronological order) Jaws, Raiders, Temple of Doom, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan.

The Fabelmans was damn good by the way. There may have been a few other films better this year but it felt almost deliberately like Spielberg's swan song. If so, he went out on a high note. The scene with
