Interesting how Pataki still has halfway-decent approval ratings.

Anyone done any polls as to how he'd fare against Spitzer should he change his mind?

While I think the latest poll probably overstates the case, the trend over the last half year shows that Sanford's support is slipping noticeably.  It is no longer unthinkable that he could lose the primary (tho Lovelace will need everything that could go right for him in order to win), and the general election is definitely going to be race.  Sanford cannot simply show up and expect to run a victory lap without having to actually race, which whether he ends up winning or losing is a good thing.

I would comment on my governor's latest rating, but I expect Walter Mitty would get mad.
