I was bored in my Math and Politics class and thought up a method of deciding elections where individual states held runoffs if no-one clears 50% in that specific state. What do you think this would have looked like in past elections, I'll start with 2016.

2016:

This has Hillary pull out a narrow win over Donald just 278 - 260.

2016 and 2000 could both turn around. Some elections would have runoffs in states after the winner is already decided, and my opinion is that those would become victory parties for the winner unless there is another runoff election of note occurring downballot. Nelson won by a clear majority in Florida 2012 so FL would be a landslide for Obama with ultra low turnout in most of the state.
