Terrible places, but the option to escape northward to NorCal makes So-so Cal a much better option.

SoCal, living on an island seems like it would get isolating eventually.

Speaking from experience, it really isn't.

Hawaii. SoCal is one of the least appealing places to live, in my opinion.

I'd rather live in SoCal (though not LA), but I'd rather visit Hawaii.

sh**t is stupid expensive on the islands, so SoCal because it's more affordable (that's not something that gets said very much).

Hawaii would be better in a vacuum, SoCal BARELY due to being in the Continental US.  Both have drawbacks that I’ve heard personally from people I respect who have lived there - Hawaii can be really hard to break into the business community as an outsider, and SoCal has the obvious sprawl/traffic problem.  The flight from Hawaii to other states would just get too old for me, I think.

Both terrible places to live, but SoCal just because it's not a bunch of islands in the middle of a huge ocean.

Southern California. It's more metropolitan, and that's my preferred type of area. It's nothing against Hawaii.

The two greatest places in America, but Southern California obviously. Nothing compares.

Portland and the Seattle Metro areas are the two greatest places in America and Oregon and Washington are the two greatest states

This probably, but I don't think I'd want to live in either one

The weather from May-September here is beyond great(with the exception of 2015 and 2017) and those are the best months of the year by far. Also they are by far two of the most scenic states in the country(The Coastline is amazing, the Cascades are amazing the Gorge is extremely scenic, Olympic National Park is amazing, and many other places like Crater Like and Painted Hills).

Also people here are very nice as well, and if you are a sports fan you wont find more loyal sports fans than fans from the Pacific North West
