It would just highlight the absurdity and kakistocracy of West Virginia politics.

Two obese, rich robber barons running against each other: one a Democrat-turned-Republican (who was also a Republican before that), the other a Republican-turned-Democrat.

A TYT-endorsed, Justice Dem like her losing should be a basic assumption lol

Also Swearengin is running for Senate, not governor.

It would be a monumentous disaster if the WV Democratic Party even allows that fat sack of Blankenship to even run for the primaries.

To be fair, it's not really their choice whether he runs or not. Not as if there's anything they can do to stop him.

If he meets the requirements of the office there is no legal way they can stop him from running

Yeah, let's not forget a prison inmate felon almost beat Obama in the Democratic primary in 2012. Blankenship could very well take this.

It would just highlight the absurdity and kakistocracy of West Virginia politics.

Two obese, rich robber barons running against each other: one a Democrat-turned-Republican (who was also a Republican before that), the other a Republican-turned-Democrat.

We don't need the Coal Barons running our State, where the bosses regardless of political party have waged massive repression and violence against the Union Movement.

We don't need Democratic and Republican politicians that provide fake solutions and half-baked visions and dreams to the lack of affordable health care, an increasingly aging population where young folks leave for job opportunities and a "better life" elsewhere as part of American Internal Migration.

This is an old story, not unique to WV as there are various Western States where the Mining Bosses owned the means of production and used repression and guns against the strikes of Union Men and Women....

We remember the history, and quite frankly when it comes to this industry I am more of perspective of "Dump the Bosses off your Back"....

Utah Phillips: "Dump the Bosses off your Back"

Phil Ochs: "No Christmas in Kentucky"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iwu22-2ZfbU

John Prine: "Paradise"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEy6EuZp9IY

Bottom line, WV and KY need strong leaders who protect worker and environmental rights, and not simply be sycophants or the owners that have historically been responsible for supporting the interests of the "Bosses" against the interests of the owners.

Tell that to all the Trump voters...

Hell--- "Sorry for using profanities"---- if I could I would.

I have no problem talking politics on the Factory Floor with my fellow workers, even in a Non-Union joint....

Gotta me careful about how you talk politics in a work environment, and let other's take the lead, just like in a 6th grade prom dance sometimes.

Dance around the bush on hot button political partisan crap, recognize the grievances of your fellow workers, and talk about themes that move the movement forward.

You might believe that WV and SE-KY Ancestral DEMs are simply motivated by the Dog Whistles of Trump, and are simply motivated by clinging to their "Guns & Religion", as is the stereotype among most on Atlas Forum.

We are talking about the proud workers that provided the fuel to feed the American Industrial Revolution, which directly tied into the Steel Mills, Railroads, and Power Plants, and now have been abandoned and consigned to the dustbin of history among Democratic and Republican Political Leaders alike....

There is a reason that WV 'Pubs have a credibility gap, despite the fact that Blankenship essentially bankrolled the County level development of the 'Pub Party in WV, before he got busted for manslaughter charges against Coal Miners....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Blankenship

https://newrepublic.com/article/147698/donald-trump-man-west-virginia

Manchin's record doesn't have the same stigma among the existing and retired Coal Miners and communities.....

Still, I'll take the Coal Baron that hasn't been convicted of manslaughter against Miners, versus that Coal Baron that did....

Guys, Blankenship is literally responsible for the deaths of countless people. Workers died because he ignored mine safety standards. There has to be a line. Don't ironically cheer him on.

I wonder if Don Blankenship is related to Greely Blankenship, executed by the state of West Virginia in 1935 for the crime of murder.

Well, Greely was hung in Mingo county which is where Big Don grew up (though he was born in KY).  Don's mom was actually part of the McCoy family (of Hatfield-McCoy fame) and his parents divorced shortly after he was born (what with he being Damien and all).  Why Mom and Don ended up in Mingo isn't told except that she bought a gas station/convenience store with the divorce money.  Obviously, Big Don grew up in a culture where sticking a knife in the back of Cocaine Mitch is all in a days work.
