Opening statement - Good evening, my fellow Americans and thank you for watching this debate. I hope that tonight the mainstream media and liberal hacks will not try to censor conservatives again and that you will be able to hear a true exchange a views. As far as I know, I’m paying for that microphone [laughs]. Because the reason why the liberal media has censored the Vice President during the last debate and has censored conservatives for decades is that they do not want you to hear the truth. And the truth is that when they were in power, 8 years ago, socialist Democrats such as Tammy Duckworth promised hope and change, but destroyed the hopes and stalled the change. In 2016, America was weaken, with an anemic economic growth, rising division and partisanship, growing threats all around the world. And then Donald Trump and Marco Rubio came along. The Trump-Rubio Administration made America great again, strong abroad and prosperous at home. Their accomplishments are undeniable, they helped create 7 and a half million jobs, defeated ISIS and denuclearized North Korea and Iran and the only ones who deny those accomplishments are Tammy Duckworth, Ruben Gallego and the mainstream media. And in November, we can either choose to go back to the past, to the Democratic failure to fix the economy through higher taxes hurting businesses and jobs and weakened us in the world by slashing our military, or move forward with Marco Rubio and his agenda that will prolong the prosperity, freedom, strength and security of our country for generations. Thank you.

General 1 : Well, first of all let me say that the Beijing dictatorship got what it deserved. Its medieval, cruel methods to impose the rule of the Communists and smash the will of the Chinese people will not go unnoticed by history and their rule will end eventually. Now, the Trump-Rubio Administration has taken several steps to protect our country from cyber attacks and I can say with full confidence that the United States is the safest country on Earth when it comes to cyber attacks. However, in the event one does happen, I will take every action necessary and consult with experts for the best path forward. I will be tough on anyone trying to attack the safety of the United States and its citizens, and just like myself, Marco Rubio will also do anything to protect the country he serves and loves by defending the homeland by protecting networks, systems, functions, and data, combating cybercrime, and improving incident reporting; by promoting American prosperity by nurturing a secure, thriving digital economy, fostering strong domestic innovation and developing a superior cybersecurity workforce; by preserving peace and security by strengthening the ability of the United States — in concert with allies and partners — to deter and, if necessary, punish those who use cyber tools for malicious purposes; and by expanding American influence abroad to extend the key tenets of an open, interoperable, reliable, and secure Internet while supporting market growth for infrastructure and emerging technologies and building cyber capacity internationally.

General 2 – Well, I agree whole-heartedly with Vice President Rubio and his call for unity. There is no issue that America can not fix, and that includes the complicated matter of abortion. Republicans have always been willing to work together with their opponents, however the Democrats and Tammy Duckworth advocated for extreme and absurd proposals, such as tolerating abortion right up until delivery. They also want to fund it as well as Planned Parenthood from the money of the hardworking taxpayers. So I call for all Americans to come together and I promise that a Rubio-James Administration will find a reasonable solution against this murderous practice that will respect civil rights, such as promoting adoption and end extreme versions of abortions and the funding of them by the US Government.

General 3 – No, I do not believe that played a factor. Vice-President Rubio will not insult the intelligence of our voters by telling them to vote for him because he picked a running mate from their state. Instead, he will go to them and actually present his plans, as we have seen him doing in an unprecedently detailed way for the past 2 years, and that is because he wants the American people to really know what they will get if they vote for him. That can not be said for Tammy Duckworth, who has been trying for the entire campaign to run away from her extreme record and agenda and distract the people by launching false attacks and discredited lies against Marco Rubio on issues like economy, middle-class, foreign policy, social issues or paid family leave like in the first debate. And I believe that Vice President Rubio chose me as his running mate because of my experience in business and service in the military, which he deems to be of great advantage in governing because unlike Tammy Duckworth he understands that the right solution to grow this economy is to make America the best place in the world to do business and that the best way to keep America safe is to preserve our country’s status as the strongest military on Earth, which is exactly what got this economy to the prosperity we’re now living and to our victory over ISIS and the denuclearization of North Korea and Iran and thanks to our experience, leadership, knowledge and agenda, we’ll get this country to full-employment, final victory over terror and long-term global peace.

James 1 – This Administration has been successful in correcting the mess caused by the failed foreign policy of Barack Obama supported by Democrats like Duckworth. The military that they depleted, we, Republicans, rebuilt. And the terrorist organization named ISIS that they failed at preventing from killing Americans and Europeans, we succeeded and that’s why we freed all the territory they once occupied by staying on offense on terror and we killed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. If we put Tammy Duckworth and the Democrats in charge of our foreign policy, we will become vulnerable again. Because they are willing to defund the military in order to pay for the bridge-to-nowhere or even for handouts to foreign government such as the Iran deal while Marco Rubio led the 2021 diplomatic trip in Tehran that got Arsham Parsi’s Iran to officially announce their denuclearization and the end of their state-sponsored terrorism and that’s what they did, reinforcing stability and peace in the Middle East. And to prevent any ethnic cleansing in the context of the crisis in Istantinople, Marco Rubio will, as President, work with our allies to ratify an international treaty recognizing ethnic cleansing as a specific crime because we are unapologetic and determined defenders of the freedom of all peoples on Earth, including Muslims and non-Greek people. And we’ll train Kurdish troops to ensure the establishment of a permanent and strong Kurdish military so we can make sure that the success and results that we earned from our allies’ victory in Operation Ceasefire over Turkey won’t be in vain. We are ready and able to ensure that America stays strong abroad and that terrorists will never threaten democracies again.

James 2 – Well, I believe that the Rubio-James ticket is the most prepared in recent American history to tackle with economical challenges. I ran the James Group International and created jobs by managing and optimizing the company's customer’s supply chain infrastructures and processes through designing and implementing complex supply chain solutions and leveraging information technology. As CEO, I grew the company into a major trading partner with Michigan’s auto industry. And Marco Rubio is the most prepared candidate to protect the economy in recent history and pursue the economic progress of the last 8 years made possible by the Trump tax cuts. He served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, making strong contributions to America's prosperity by passing legislation protecting the interests of American small businesses and reducing taxes on them. That’s why small businesses such as Industrial Weldors & Machinists in Minnesota, Guy Chemical Company in Pennsylvania, Hinee Gourmet Coffee here in Texas, Deckscapes in Virginia, Advanced Superabrasives in North Carolina, Rockford Ball Screw in Illinois, Northwest Motor Services in Washington, WebHobby Shop in my home state of Michigan and Junk King in Nevada are expanding operations, increasing wages, providing new benefits, and hiring more employees. We will keep taxes low, including for the middle-class, keep our status as the best business-friendly environment in the world, develop infrastructure to facilitate economic activities, make America the most competitive nation in the world economy through free trade and make America energy independent by taking advantage of all of our sources of energy. Our Administration will create unprecedented economic prosperity at home because it has the right people to do it, people with clear success and experience on economic issues, leadership that will get America to long-term prosperity and full-employment and expand the American Dream and America’s status as the land of opportunity.

Closing statement – My fellow Americans, today you’ve heard an exchange of ideas that will hopefully make things clear as to who stands for what. Tammy Duckworth stands for radicalism, with her extreme liberal agenda that would leave America broken, vulnerable to terrorists, with a shattered economy that can not support her all tax and spend agenda, bloated government. Behind her is the establishment, the mainstream media and the crooked DNC. Behind us, there are the people. Because we are running on an agenda that was proven to be successful in fixing the disaster of the Democrats and making our country great again. This is why the Duckworth/Gallego ticket has been resorting to false, absurd attacks. But Americans will not let themselves fooled. Because we chose progress over decline, hope over fear.

We cut taxes and our economy is flourishing but we won’t be satisfied until every American can find a good-paying job. As a son of Cuban immigrants who came to this country living paycheck to paycheck, Marco Rubio knows how to protect everyday Americans, that’s what he did throughout his life in the FL House, in the Senate and as Vice-President and that’s what he will keep doing as President through middle-class tax relief, energy independence and free enterprise.

ISIS’ attacks on our soil proved that the next decision a President has to make can affect the lives of all of us. Because we rebuilt our military, we defeated ISIS in the Middle East and are transitioning to a nuclear-free world. That, along with large coalitions and the preservation of American leadership, will lead us to victory on terror and to long-term peace and security.

We’ll fight to ensure that our children will be the most prosperous generation that ever lived and will earn the opportunities that preceding generations couldn’t have. Marco Rubio is one candidate who has really ever fought for you. So I ask all of you to come together and vote for the preservation of America’s greatness and status as the land of opportunity!

Rebuttals -

General 2 : The Governor once again takes my comments out of context in order to demonize me just like he and Senator Duckworth are engaging into mudslinging in this time of prosperity and increasing peace because they have no argument against the successes of the last 8 years such as this prosperous economy and our victory over ISIS. We have to note that while 100,000 women died during the period from 1970 to 2016 in the United States, 46 million CDC-reported abortions were carried out, a body count higher than World War I and the Holocaust combined. Even splitting that period in half so the two figures are comparable, that means 23 million legal abortions, still more than World War I.

And of course it is a health care issue but what Governor failed to mention is that a study by the Causes and Control reported that abortion is significantly associated with an increased risk of breast cancer and that the risk of breast cancer increases as the number of abortions increases. So under a Rubio Administration, we will put forward adoption laws in order to promote adoption, which is a clear and viable alternative to abortion, fund and promote maternity group homes as well as abstinence programs. That way, we will avoid any risk for the mother’s health and life allow couples who don't want a baby or are not ready to have a baby not to have one without ending his/her life before it even begins. That way, this baby will have the privilege to live and to be loved. That's how every child, born and unborn, will be protected in law and welcomed into life.

General 3 : The Governor forgot that he’s been elected in 2022 so he has just a year-and-a-half of executive experience. And what he also forgot is that I also have executive experience. I’ve been the CEO of the James Group International. The difference is that I’m the only one on this stage who has created jobs and I know that free enterprise is the right solution to our challenges, not big government and tax-hike policies adopted by my opponent. Look, thanks to the tax cuts and free enterprise policies adopted by his predecessors Governors Brewer and Ducey, 500 000 jobs have been created in Arizona in the last 8 years preceding his election, this state was ranked 4th in the nation in terms of GDP growth (3.57 %) and even outpaced California, Florida and Texas on that level, was ranked 3rd in the U.S. for economic momentum and Arizona's median household incomes have reached a record high of $61,125. We can’t afford the risk with a ticket that doesn’t have the experience to manage the economy. And as a combat veteran who served as an Apache pilot in Operation Iraqi Freedom, I know how to keep our country safe, which requires a strong military and staying on offense against terrorists.

Another difference is that Governor Gallego doesn’t know how to get things done. In the House of Representatives, only one of his 51 sponsored legislations became law. That’s a big contrast with our ticket led by Marco Rubio who passed the Girls Count Act, the 2014 VA reform law, those sanctions on Hezbollah, the Let Freedom Reign Act, the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act and the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act. In the Senate, we fought together every day to protect your jobs, to keep our military strong and to take care of our veterans, we know how to get things done and that’s we’ll keep doing if voters put their trust in us.

Gallego 1 : The Governor should be ashamed of himself to question my understanding of what it looks like to send troops to war. You owe me an apology because I have myself served our country in Iraq as an Apache pilot. You owe apology to Marco Rubio whose brother served in Vietnam and who passed the 2014 VA reform law empowering the VA secretary to hold managers accountable for incompetence, negligence and corruption and to care more about veterans than bureaucrats while you opposed the VA Accountability Act authorizing the Department of VA to remove or demote an employee for misconduct and negligence towards veterans. So you don't have a monopoly on heart with regards to the men and women in uniform protecting us and our country's freedom. Our plan to defeat terrorism will require less ground troops. We’ll provide our Western African allies in training and arsenal to ensure their readiness to handle their own security and help them defeat Boko Haram and we’ll destroy Boko Haram key targets like their infrastructure and oil refineries through drone strikes to deny them war effort. Tammy Duckworth has no credibility on Middle East because in 2014 she voted against prohibiting combat operations in Iraq before she changed her position and opposed airstrikes against ISIS even when they controlled 70 % of Iraq’s territory and used it as a base for attacks in the world.  Even though the Kurds were crucial to defeating ISIS, she voted against providing the Kurds in arsenal, equipment and training. Our opponents say we should wait until we’ve been attacked before displaying any kind of action to keep America safe. But we have already been attacked. Yet, Senator Duckworth gives no indication of being willing to go forward and pursue the successful strategy that is working, defeating our enemies and will guarantee that the US won’t again get attacked by the likes of ISIS.

Own creation
Senator Duckworth wants you to believe that we represent more of the same. Let me be clear, I'm not Donald Trump. If you really wanted to run against President Trump, you should have run 4 years ago. Under my presidency, we're going to bring the change that will create jobs and prosperity. When I'm President, we're going to reduce middle-class taxes from 22 % to 15 % while indexing capital gains for inflation and creating a tax-preferred savings vehicle so our economy can grow through a stronger middle-class. President Trump didn't do that. We will expand free trade with our allies around the world so we can make America the most competitive nation in the world economy, counter-balance China's trade power, allow American businesses to make direct investments into foreign economies to produce goods at a lower cost in these environments and make America number one in auto production again. President Trump didn't do that. We will finally lead our country to energy independence so we can become free from foreign oil and he will do so by taking advantage of all of America’s sources of energy, encouraging oil drilling and production, invest a part of the revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable energies so we can produce more solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric energies which will also be done through tax credits for advanced nuclear projects and subsidies for building new nuclear power plants, which will make us number one in nuclear energy production and export, a goal that will also be done through the building 40 new nuclear power plants by 2050. On foreign policy, we will bring the change that will increasingly require less troops in harm's way to defeat our enemies and keep America safe. To face the threat represented by Boko Haram, we will provide military training and material support to our allies in Western Africa so they will have the necessary tools to defeat terrorism and we will lead drone airstrikes against Boko Haram key targets, including their infrastructure and their controlled oil refineries in order to deprive them of any means to boost their war effort and their plans for terrorist attacks. As a result, it will reduce the need for additional ground troops there and it will cost our country less as drones are significantly cheaper to purchase, fuel, and maintain than regular airplanes. And the development of unmanned vessels and warships equipped with anti-satellite drones (referring notably to the ASW Continuous Trail Unmanned Vessel and the Large Unmanned Surface Vehicle), we'll be able to track, trail target and intercept hostile submarines threatening our national security interests and our men and women in uniform serving in the Navy without having to put more troops in harm's way. And under my presidency, we'll bring the change that will give us long term global peace by normalizing our relations with Sergei Polonsky’s Russia so we can finally restore stability, peace and territorial integrity in Eastern Europe and the Middle East and to eliminate any risk of nuclear war and ensure the expansion of human rights, freedom and peace in the globe. And we will ratify the Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty to prohibit the use of fissile material for the building of WMDs and nuclear weapons, which will make sure that we will complete our path to a nuclear-free world and prevent any nuclear war.

Now it's a curious thing that Senator Duckworth talks about continuing Donald Trump's policies because she has herself embraced policies that are embraced by President Trump until she changed her positions due to political pressure and calculation. In 2012, when she ran for Congress, she said she supported lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth but then she repeatedly voted against that idea and voted time and again in favor of raising taxes as she voted against Permanently Extending The Federal Tax Deduction For State And Local Sales Taxes despite the fact that it would create 150,000 jobs and would increase federal tax receipts by $8 billion, she voted against extending tax deductions, against the America's Small Business Tax Relief Act even though small businesses create 70 % of the jobs in America, she opposed the elimination of the inheritance tax and voting in favor of the death tax and the marriage penalty tax and she voted against the TCJA that provided the strong economy that our country is now living thanks to the promotion of tax reform, middle-class tax reductions and free enterprise. On energy, Senator Duckworth attacks me for promoting oil production but in 2019 she supported Dan Brouillette's nomination as Secretary of Energy even though Brouillette is an advocate and oil, coal and fossil energy production. On foreign policy, she first voted against prohibiting U.S. combat operations in Iraq in June 2014 and then shortly after that, during an interview with ABC News, she declared her opposition to airstrikes to combat ISIS even at a time this terrorist organization controlled 70 % of Iraq's territory and also a large territory in Syria and used it as a base to launch attacks against us and our allies like they did in Paris, Brussels, Nice, Garland, San Bernardino, Philadelphia and Orlando. In other words, she was for Operation Inherent Resolve before she was against it. She complains that we somehow « spend too much » on defense spending and yet she supported the creation of the U.S. Space Force (that ensured the protection of our satellites against Chinese anti-satellite weaponry) now she criticizes it and wants to impose deep cuts in the military, which will make America an easier target for our enemies, which is exactly what made America vulnerable and gave us ISIS' attacks on our national soil. I guess that long record of inconsistency has benefited Senator Duckworth in the Democratic primaries because Jeff Merkley was doing major progress in the primaries based on a progressive record so she has in effect decided to move even further to the left to convince progressive primary voters. So folks, let me ask you this : if Senator Duckworth couldn't stand up to the pressures represented by Jeff Merkley, how can we expect her to stand up to America's energy dependence, to China, to ISIS? America deserves better than Senator Duckworth's long record of inconsistency and political calculation. My positions are clear : as President, I will cut taxes for all Americans, including the middle-class, preserve and strengthen America's status as the best place in the world to start a new business. We will take advantage of all of America's sources of energy for the sake of America's energy independence. I will keep our military strong and modernize it, stay on the offense against terrorism, work with our allies and expand our alliances and get us to a nuclear-free world. And that's why I ask for your vote to make sure this great country will keep moving forward thanks to free enterprise, full-employment, energy independence, strong and modernized military and strong American leadership. Thank you! God bless you and God bless the United States of America!

The Chinese communist regime is losing its influence over the people of China as pro-freedom hacker groups bombarded China's social credit, a system of censorship and oppression that would make Orwell blush. The Chinese military has even lost control of its nuclear arsenal after several sites have been hacked. And these hacker groups are now encouraging peaceful pro-freedom protests in Hong Kong whose sovereignty has been violated in the last few years by Beijing. If Beijing couldn't manage to restore the Putin regime and tyranny and opression in Russia in spite of its social credit and cyber attacks, they certainly can't break and silence the determination of the Chinese people in their quest for freedom, justice, democracy and integrity. Such loss of control of the society by the Chinese government will likely encourage the Chinese people to mobilize and to orchestrate a wave of protests across this country to reclaim liberty, the restoration of democracy, human rights, free speech, free press, freedom of religion, etc. If that happens, we will, under my presidency, sanction any entities, companies, government institutions and commercial organizations engaging in human rights violations against protesters through their support to the procurement of items (artificial intelligence and facial recognition technology) for the Chinese military, which will deprive them of any tools aimes at imposing their Orwellian opression over China. The Chinese people is no longer afraid and the desires of the people will be stronger than the scare, opression and terror tactics of the Communist regime and freedom will be restored in that country.

-Speech in Raleigh, NC to appeal among African-American voters through a speech reminding that group of voters that during Rubio's time as Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives he supported the state legislature's Black Caucus' request that the legislature apologize for slavery because he knows as a member of the party of Lincoln that every human being, regardless of your ethnicity, your origins or your religious beliefs, is a creation of God that our Constitution as well as all the freedoms offered by this great country protects. While also noting that the Republican Party is the party that abolished slavery and that fought to abolish Jim Crow laws, he touted the benefits of this Administration's policies on the African-American community, including the lowest African-American unemployment rate (5.5 %) thanks to the tax cut and free enterprise policies adopted in the last 8 years; the creation of Opportunity Zones that offered tax incentives for businesses to invest in economically distressed communities, making them a powerful vehicle for economic growth and job creation, jumpstart our American communities, create momentum for economic recovery, and attract investment to diverse areas across our nation; and an increase of Federal funding to American communities, create momentum for economic recovery, and attract investment to diverse areas across our Nation. And this administration made supporting our Nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities programs a top priority with a boost of their funding by more than 14 percent and the ratification of a legislation forgiving more than $322 million in Hurricane Katrina related debt that threatened New Orleans area HBCUs. He calls on African-American voters to mobilize in November and to cast their vote for the Rubio-James ticket to pursue the promotion of opportunity for all Americans, including the AA community, for the sake of the preservation and expansion of the American Dream and of America's status as the land of opportunity thanks to the promotion of middle-class tax cuts and free enterprise.

TURN XIX-II: SECOND DEBATE
IRL: July 10 - 13; extensions until July 16 as needed

Second presidential debate will follow the same format as the first presidential debate, and will be posted later today.

President Trump Approval Rating
Disapprove: 53%
Approve: 43%
Undecided: 4%

GE Polls:

Marco Rubio: 49%
Tammy Duckworth: 48%

James wins vice presidential debate

Senator John James has been judged to have won the vice presidential debate by a majority of viewers, 53% to 43% for Governor Ruben Gallego. Ironically, this a reversal of the first debate, wherein Rubio gave far longer, more detailed answers and was forced to abruptly cease, while Gallego was criticized for "an excess of brevity." As well, Gallego claimed to have been elected Governor in 2018, despite only having been so in 2022, something right-wing commentators mercilessly piled on him for.

Second presidential debate looms as Rubio, Duckworth ready for rematch

The second presidential debate between Senator Duckworth and Vice President Rubio is scheduled for October 31 and promises to be a fearsome rematch. The Vice President effected an aura of confidence, claiming he'd "learned from his mistakes," and that "I believe, since Rachel Maddow will no longer be a moderator, and thus unable to censor conservatism on this stage, I will probably have at least a better showing." Senator Duckworth, meanwhile, stated her belief that Rubio had been defeated because of his stances on the issues, and that it was "what he did say up there that turned people off, not what he didn't." The debate will be held at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (near Raleigh), and will be moderated by Lester Holt and Sean Hannity.

Red states claim to be "primed and ready" to roll out abortion restrictions following presidential election

Several Republican governors of generally considered red states have claimed to be "primed and ready" to order abortion restrictions following the results of the presidential election, among them Mike Dunleavy of Alaska, Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas, and Brian Kemp of Georgia. Pro-choice activists, as a result, have called upon their supporters to vote "not only for Tammy Duckworth for President, but, if possible, for a pro-choicer for state legislature, as well. They can't strip us of our freedom if we deny them the votes!" None of the aforementioned governors appeared deeply concerned with the prospect of such an issue. Time will tell if they're right to be so.

Georgia, Wisconsin, Arizona shift toward competitiveness in battle for the Senate

Three Senate races have shifted in the leadup to Election Day, and all of them are considered more competitive. In Georgia, incumbent Republican Geoff Duncan is struggling as Jon Ossoff has announced stunning fundraising figures for October, particularly in the wake of Governor Kemp's call for greater abortion restrictions in his state. The race, however, is still considered to be Leans Republican. In Wisconsin, Democrat Mark Pocan is now in a dead heat with Republican Bryan Steil, following a rally there in which Steil joined Vice President Rubio, who is also hoping to carry America's Dairyland in a few days' time. Finally, in Arizona, a Duckworth rally with Congressman O'Halleran has once again left incumbent Republican Senator Martha McSally vulnerable, as this race, too, shifts into tossup territory.

North Korean Social Democrats debating how to proceed following sizable gains in 2024 elections

The North Korean Social Democratic Party has been rife with internal debate in recent days, as they discuss their future in regards to their coalition with the ruling Workers' Party. While nearly every member who was first elected to the Supreme People's Assembly before 2024 has called for "staying the course" and maintaining the coalition, many of the new members have called for "an actual party of social democracy in the Democratic People's Republic." Both sides have reportedly been backed by outside forces, as the Workers' Party has reportedly egged on the elements bent on retaining the coalition, while pro-multipartisan groups both from within and without North Korea have encouraged the anti-coalition forces to "keep fighting the good fight." Time will tell which side wins.

Putin falsely reported killed in Beijing; forced to give press conference from current residence in Wuhan

Vladimir Putin, former President and Prime Minister of Russia, was forced to give a press conference from his current home in Wuhan after reports began to circulate on Chinese social media that he had been killed in violence resultant from the cyberattacks that have decimated much of China's digital infrastructure. Said reports claimed that he had been visiting President Xi when an "anti-government terrorist" fired an RPG "of American make" at his motorcade, killing him instantly. These reports were quickly debunked by both the press conference and hacktivist forces (which are still in control of the social media sites). However, as tensions continue to rise across the People's Republic, one can only wonder how long it will be until such a report is accurate.

American tourist shot in Shanghai after accusation of being a "dirty American hacker"

James Colleton, an American accountant visiting Shanghai while on vacation, was "arrested" by several Chinese nationals, "tried," and shot on charges of being a "dirty American hacker." Colleton, 43, had no prior known experience with hacking or even coding, something several media outlets were quick to point out in investigating the case. Several of those involved have been rounded up and shot themselves by the new "Chinese Army for Freedom," the first known paramilitary insurgent group to arise following the hack attacks that have rocked China. This group, whose leader refused to be identified or to do an in-person interview, has called for the complete overthrow and dissolution of the Chinese Communist Party, and will "do all in its power to maintain the peace and safety of ordinary, reasonable Chinese people." However, they have also called for "the extermination of the Communist fanatics of both China and the world," stating "There is no greater evil than Communism. It is a force for oppression and suffering, and should not exist in a civilized world." This has sparked concern among far-left activists, who have reported their worries that the Army for Freedom (ZZJ) could turn into a "global terrorist organization." How this will turn out, only time will tell.

Tammy Duckworth Runs Ad "Day One"

"Over the past eight years, we've seen attacks on what makes this nation great. Children in cages, billionaires getting a tax break while the rest of us have stagnating wages, assaults on healthcare access, and now a coordinated effort to overturn Roe."

"America needs a leader who is ready to take these issues on day one."

"Tammy Duckworth has spent her life fighting for our country, whether that's in deployment or in Congress."

"She has a plan to expand the ACA, giving millions of Americans an affordable healthcare option."

"She will hold the super-wealthy accountable, and make them pay their fair share rather than give them Cabinet positions based on their donation amounts."

"She will invest in our infrastructure, creating jobs while expanding access to internet and repairing our roads and bridges."

"She has a plan to send your children to college, not to war."

"She's been fighting for you since day one."

"I'm Tammy Duckworth and I approve this message."

SECOND PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE 2024
Hannity: Good evening. I'm Sean Hannity of Fox News.

Holt: And I'm Lester Holt of NBC.

Hannity: And we are here at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, to bring you the second presidential debate of this election cycle.

Holt: Indeed we are. Now, we have here tonight the two main contenders for President, Senator Tammy Duckworth and Vice President Marco Rubio.

Wallace: Each candidate will give an opening statement, answer three general and two personal questions, and give a closing statement. With that established, let's begin:

General 1:
The new Chinese Army for Freedom, or ZZJ, has been viewed both as a group of freedom fighters and as an extremist organization bent on anti-Communist (and, according to some, anti-socialist) violence. As President, will you support the ZZJ, and why or why not?

General 2:
Chief Justice Roberts announced his retirement effective almost immediately after the next inauguration, following his decision to rescind Roe v. Wade. As President, how would you decide who would take up the Chief Justice's gavel?

General 3:
Several organizations have put forward plans for a new Chinese government in the event that the Communist Party is removed from power. What do you believe is the best form of government for the People's Republic going forward, and how would you move to effect it if the Xi regime does fall?

Rubio 1:
You have generally taken the side of those who claim there is a "democracy shyness" in North Korea following the release of its election results, i.e. that the people are simply uncertain about voting for parties which were not previously in power. Do you believe that the increasing calls for independence in the Social Democratic Party bolster your argument?

Rubio 2:
One of the leading factors you've discussed on the campaign trail is the Trump economy, which has been humming along with little difficulty for the past eight years. How do you respond to the continued claims that, despite everything, it is still merely a "leftover Obama economy"?

Duckworth 1:
You stated in a recent ad that you "will send America's children to college, not to war." Do you believe that, given that now three consecutive Republican Presidents have launched campaigns in the Middle East, war is inevitable under a Republican administration?

Duckworth 2:
Reverend Mark Harris, a pastor from North Carolina who ran for the House in 2018, has suggested he may launch a suit aimed at bringing down Obergefell v. Hodges as soon as next year. How will you ensure that such a suit is defeated if it reaches the Supreme Court?

(Debate responses will be due at the end of the turn.)

Tammy Duckworth Debate Responses

2017 AFGE Legislative Conference - Monday by AFGE, on Flickr

Quote
Opening statement:
Quote
“This election is about much more than the office of the Presidency, it’s about the direction we want our country to move in. Do we look at the failed leadership of the Trump-Rubio administration and ask for more or do we put this era behind us and move forward in progress? Marco Rubio and Donald Trump want to claim victory on their reckless foreign policy, yet we have an American tourist shot dead in Shanghai. The President has insisted on crowdsourcing intelligence rather than exercising any sort of restraint. It’s an embarrassment that we have the most robust, experienced intelligence agencies in the world, and the President has risked plainclothes civilians by publicly calling for the hacking of the Chinese government. Cadet Bone Spurs and his Vice President should know that their politicking has actual consequences, and this recklessness will not be part of my administration.

As your President, I will exhibit the type of leadership befitting the office, I will defend your rights, and champion everyday Americans over a wealthy donor class looking to buy political appointments with maxed out donations. I will take a step back from the precipice of war that this President has gladly walked us up to, and will work more closely with our friends and allies rather than attempting to impress dictators. At home, I will work with Congress to expand healthcare and childcare, pass the Equality Act, and codify reproductive rights. But, I can’t do it alone, we have to work together to elect a Congress who is willing to do the hard work of governing, rather than playing politics with the lives and wellbeing of Americans.”

Quote
General 1:
The new Chinese Army for Freedom, or ZZJ, has been viewed both as a group of freedom fighters and as an extremist organization bent on anti-Communist (and, according to some, anti-socialist) violence. As President, will you support the ZZJ, and why or why not?
Quote
“I want to be careful making brave proclamations about foreign policy to gain political points. On my first day in office, I intend on being briefed by our intelligence agencies and generals to get the full picture of the ZZJ and the situation with China as a whole. Unlike the current President, I take our national security and international standing seriously, and it’s unwise for a President to show her hand before being fully briefed.

Regardless, it’s clear that the unrest in China is not going anywhere, and the next President will have to keep a watchful eye. I plan on working with our allies abroad to ensure that the situation in China doesn’t worsen. While many in the GOP are comfortable saber-rattling, the truth is, this is reckless and could lead to war. I’m more interested in keeping Americans safe than flexing our military muscles to show dominance.”

Quote
General 2:
Chief Justice Roberts announced his retirement effective almost immediately after the next inauguration, following his decision to rescind Roe v. Wade. As President, how would you decide who would take up the Chief Justice's gavel?
Quote
“I think it’s about time we choose one of the countless qualified women to be Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and as President, my choice will believe in reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, and respect the court she presides over. This is more than checking off a box for me, this is about letting millions of American women know that we value their voices and that our country is best when our positions of power reflect the people they are supposed to represent. As many Americans have learned from this term, if you don’t have a seat at the table, you never know if you’re on the menu. Taking this step ensures the Chief Justice is committed to protecting the Constitutional rights of all Americans, and not another political creature that’s pre-approved by the Federalist Society.”

Quote
General 3:
Several organizations have put forward plans for a new Chinese government in the event that the Communist Party is removed from power. What do you believe is the best form of government for the People's Republic going forward, and how would you move to effect it if the Xi regime does fall?
Quote
“I’m an unabashed advocate for democracy, and I hope the Chinese people are able to have a government that is accountable to them. This is the exact kind of situation that requires international cooperation. If there is a change in power in China, America needs a representative at the table in order to ensure free and fair elections and set a standard for human rights in the country. However, the next President needs to be able to work with China whether or not there is a change in power there, and the current administration has remained committed to escalating tensions rather than even attempting diplomacy.

That’s the part of foreign policy my opponent doesn’t want to be honest about, it’s messy and complex. Rarely is one election enough to transition into democracy, and no former authoritarian regime can just seamlessly evolve past their old ways without international coordination. As we saw in North Korea, elections can be held, but they may not be free or fair, and parties in power can use that power to intimidate the people into voting based on fear, not belief. I understand Marco Rubio has to spin his and Trump’s foreign policy as a success story, but the truth is we have the hardest part ahead of us in maintaining international peace.”

Quote
Duckworth 1:
You stated in a recent ad that you "will send America's children to college, not to war." Do you believe that, given that now three consecutive Republican Presidents have launched campaigns in the Middle East, war is inevitable under a Republican administration?
Quote
“Marco Rubio, like Donald Trump, wants to campaign as a dove and govern as a hawk. Republicans have learned that they can’t campaign on constant intervention with no international consensus or Congressional approval, so instead, they spin their position to seem reasonable. I went to war to defend the President and Vice President’s right to lie and misconstrue their position, and I’d do it again, but I won’t hesitate to call it out. The truth is, going to war is an easy decision as President, Congress has abdicated all responsibility of holding the Commander in Chief accountable here, but it’s one that shouldn’t be taken lightly. I don’t take war lightly, I left part of myself in Iraq, I know what that sacrifice looks like. The United States is a leader internationally, and that means we have a responsibility to keep the peace, not further fan the flames of war. I’ve seen nothing to tell me the next Republican administration would be any different than the last, or any less likely to go to war again.”

Quote
Duckworth 2:
Reverend Mark Harris, a pastor from North Carolina who ran for the House in 2018, has suggested he may launch a suit aimed at bringing down Obergefell v. Hodges as soon as next year. How will you ensure that such a suit is defeated if it reaches the Supreme Court?
Quote
“Unfortunately, Mark Harris’s actions are completely unsurprising, and exactly what I worried would happen when the Roe ruling was announced. We have a Supreme Court that has shown comfort in throwing out established precedent, upending years of settled law. When the Roe decision came down, I knew it would light a renewed effort for further regression and LGBTQ folks are watching closely to see if we will stand up for their rights. Under a Duckworth Presidency, LGBTQ Americans will have a President who fights for their rights, not one that claims to care about them when it’s politically expedient, and then sells them out at the first opportunity. As President, I will work with Congress to pass the Equality Act, codifying same-sex marriage, and preventing discrimination with federal law rather than Supreme Court decision. I also remain committed to appointing justices who support Roe, the rights of LGBTQ Americans, and who respect the Court and established precedent.”

Quote
Closing statement:
Quote
“Today’s GOP is fully the party of Donald Trump, Governors in Georgia, Arkansas, and Alaska have committed to criminalizing abortion in their states. When you go out and vote this year, you are voting for whether or not we criminalize people for having a medical procedure, if we go back to the days of back-alley abortions, or if we instate national laws protecting an individual’s right to choose. Republicans have made their position clear here, they don’t care that the majority of Americans believe Roe v Wade is settled law, they don’t care that the majority of Americans want to maintain the legality of abortion. Instead, they want to hide behind the Supreme Court, using their handpicked appointments to go against the wishes of Americans.

As your President, I will have the courage to look you in the eye and tell you what I believe is best for our country. I will fight for your rights as hard as when I was deployed, and I will not allow feckless political maneuvering to change my principles. This year, we can choose to move forward together in progress, to work towards a country where every American has healthcare, childcare, and high speed internet, where children born in rural Wisconsin and the suburbs of Chicago have the same opportunities. That’s the American Dream I believe in, and if you agree I need your help in not just electing me, but giving me a Congress that is ready to get to work for the American people. Thank you!”

1.   Rally with Arizona Senator Martha McSally in Pheonix
Good morning, Pheonix! Today we stand at a crucial crossroads in American history. And I must tell you that I am proud to have met your Senator Martha McSally, who is one of the best in the entire US Senate and I came here today to urge you to reelect her! Because Martha is above all, a fighter. She fought for our country in the Military against terrorists in Afghanistan when we needed her the most. She risked her life to ensure that a terrorist massacre like 9/11 will never happen again and that the people who comitted that atrocity will be punished! She also fought to abolish the abhorrent rule requiring American women soldiers to wear an abaya in Saudi Arabia and she won as always! No service woman stationed in Saudi Arabia shall be required to wear a symbol of oppresion. In the Senate, she has a record of being an independent voice who is doing whatever is best for the state of Arizona. She worked with Democrats to protect seniors and to create strong trade partenerships. That is unlike Tammy Duckworth of course, who was the 80th most bipartisan senior, almost always voting with people like Schumer and Pelosi. Martha McSally is actually the 6th most bipartisan Senator. But on no issue is the difference between Martha and her Democrat opponent more clear than on the one of human trafficking! Martha McSally fought in the Senate against it, while her opponent took money from a known child sex trafficking scheme! So the choice is clear – between a strong woman who fights against human traffickign and a weak man paid by human traffickers! Thank you, and make sure to vote for Martha on Election Day.

Rally for Marco Rubio and Geoff Duncan in Atlanta Suburbs

Good evening, Georgia! It is an honor to be here with you, and I came to tell you that it is crucial to vote for my good friends Marco and Geoff this November. Georgia has been blessed by the Trump economic boom, as it is home to 17 Fortune 500 Companies and 26 Fortune 1000 Companies. It is one of the best places to do business in the entire country, it has the best business and labor climate, the best in workforce training and has a Best Class state economic agency. Thanks to the policies of President Trump and VP Rubio, Georgia is one of the best places in the country to live in. 9 out of 10 Georgian households take the standard deduction which provides tax relief and simplifies the tax filing process,  142,930 Georgia households are benefiting from elimination of the Obamacare individual mandate tax as households hit with this tax made less than $50,000 per year and those tax reductions allowed Georgia businesses of all sizes are hiring, expanding, raising pay and increasing employee benefits, which is one of the major reasons why Georgia has the highest credit rating by Standard & Poor's  and is one of only 15 states with a AAA rating. However, this will all end if we elect socialists and promoters of Big Government like Tammy Duckworth and Jon Ossoff. They would tax you, your family and all companies out of existence, to fund for their little fantasy projects. That would erase all of the progress we have made. On the other hand, the Republican Party and Marco Rubio are proposing a realistic economic agenda, which would result in the creation of thousands of jobs. Our ticket is the most qualified in the modern era to deal with economical issues. So vote for continuity instead of false hope and for high economical growth instead of high taxes. Thank you!

Marco Rubio's Debate Answers

Own creation

Opening statement : This campaign is about making sure our children will be the most prosperous and freest generation that ever lived and will earn the opportunities that preceding generations couldn’t have. We made significant progress in that process. Senator Duckworth proves herself ready to say or do anything to earn votes, claiming the leadership displayed in the last 8 years was a « failure ». If that was true, we wouldn’t have created 7 and-a-half million jobs, we wouldn’t have recorded the lowest unemployment rate in 5 decades, defeated ISIS, killed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and denuclearized North Korea and Iran. But that’s exactly what happened thanks to strong leadership. That wouldn’t have been possible if Senator Duckworth had it her way with the failed agenda of President Obama raising taxes on hard-working Americans and businesses, gutting our military and making America an easier target for terrorism, standing in the way of progress. When it comes to that citizen killed, we’ll sanction the Chinese Ministry of Public Security to condemn their actions. But in addition of politicizing that tragedy, Senator Duckworth just pointed out that instead of doing whatever it takes to stand up for freedom she would rather allow the Chinese regime to maintain its Social Credit System, an Orwellian system controlling every facet of human life, gave Xi Jinping total control over the Chinese people through mass surveillance, served as propaganda tool and advocated Vladimir Putin’s return to power in Russia, which would be a profound mistake. But because those pro-freedom hacker groups shut down the social credit, freedom is on the march.

As President, I’ll provide the kind of leadership aimed at fighting for everyday Americans as I did throughout my life. I’ll protect your rights, cut taxes for middle-class for a stronger and fairer economy, get us energy independence and keep us safe through working with allies, modernizing our military and getting us to a world ridden of nuclear escalation. That’s why I ask for your vote and expand a team of pro-freedom and pro-growth legislators in Congress to ensure a bright future for America, get us to full-employment and long-term global peace.

General 1: Yes, I will support the ZZJ as President of the United States because we are a country that stands up for freedom, democracy and justice. And our intelligence agencies are already working to know more about those organizations. The only people playing scare tactics and labeling ZZJ as an extremist terrorist organization are the Chinese Communist regime and the far-left just like the Nazis labeled the French Resistants as terrorists. And I’m astonished that Senator Duckworth would use the same curse words of the Chinese regime and those far-leftist organizations disgracing those brave people standing up to the Communist regime’s tyranny and fighting for the restoration of freedom. That is offensive. It’s our role to stand up for the preservation and expansion of freedom. Unlike Senator Duckworth, I accept the responsibilities of leadership. Under a Rubio presidency, we’re not going to repeat the mistake of President Truman who in 1949 refused to provide further help to the nationalists who were fighting Mao’s communist forces, which partly contributed to Mao’s victory and rise to power. We’ll provide support to those freedom fighters by supplying them in non-military supplies like food, clothing, fuel, etc. in order to make sure they will have the means to subsist and persist. And as we’ve seen, those hacker groups’ actions as well as our support to them made the Chinese military lose control of nuclear weapons because of strikes on nuclear sites.

To avoid a worsening of the situation, I will work with our allies in the region, including India, Russia and Japan to arbitrate and watch over the situation in China and I will cut-off China’s crude-oil supply by halting crude-oil exports to China, which will undermine their military power since every modern military mostly function through oil. That way, we will make sure that the regime’s forces will be no match for ZZJ and for the Chinese people’s desire of freedom, democracy, justice and integrity and that we’ll achieve the democratization of China through freedom’s victory over tyranny and oppression.

General 2: First, I believe judicial independence is critical for the sake of the protection of your constitutional rights and ensuring that the judiciary will be independent from the other branches of government. And this concept has unfortunately taken hits from both sides, but mainly the Democratic Party that seeks to undermine the Second Amendment and violate the 10th Amendment protecting state powers. If I’m elected President, I will, in the process of selecting who will take up the Chief Justice's gavel, look, first of all, at the integrity and qualifications of the judge and then at the political views. We’re going to establish background checks on nominees for the Supreme Court to make sure there is no shady history involved with the nominee’s past like what happened with Judge Kavanaugh and that he/she is qualified for the job. That way, we will avoid any controversy when it comes to confirmation hearing. And the SCOTUS nominees that I will appoint will be constitutionalists who will interpret the Constitution the way it is written, who will defend the First Amendment, free speech, free press, freedom of religion; who will defend the Second Amendment and your right to self-defence, the life of the unborn and respect state powers. And I would note the justices that Senator Duckworth would put forward will be lobbied by Planned Parenthood and will reinterpret the laws of the nation to suit their own political views, who would undermine and write the Second Amendment out of the Constitution (referring to Merrick Garland’s vote to a rehear a three-judge panel of the D.C. Circuit Court that struck down D.C.’s handgun ban, which would have cleared the way for a reconsideration of the District of Columbia v. Heller), overturn state powers and give more power to Washington and award Guantanamo terrorists with constitutional rights, those are extreme views that aren’t consistent with the overwhelming majority of Americans.

General 3: First of all, Senator Duckworth doesn’t understand what it looks like to feel traumatized from the authoritarian years to feel safe voting for any party that wasn’t approved of by the old powers which is why the ruling party maintained power. Because the North Korean people are still new to democracy and are still adjusting to the free election concept. Twenty-seven years ago, we had a similar situation in Indonesia where the Golkar, the right-wing party that ruled this country for 30 years under authoritarian President Suharto, saw its influence declining through the United Development Party winning almost 100 seats. Then the opposition pushed for their own platform, challenging their coalition-mates. Shortly after Suharto's New Order collapsed and Indonesia has free elections today. Today Indonesia is a lot better because we held free elections. The power of that concept is enormous. It will apply in North Korea as the Social Democrats are debating on their future with many of them calling for an abolition of their coalition with the Workers’ Party and for an actual party of social democracy, which will counter-balance the ruling party’s influence and make an important step towards freedom.

In respect to China, I believe the best form of government in the event of a collapse of Xi Jinping’s regime is either a parliamentary system or a presidential federal system with multi-party system. As a new Constitution will likely be necessitated, an amendment guaranteeing fundamental human rights, freedom of the press, gender equity and decentralize the police needs to be drafted. To make sure there isn’t evidence of voter fraud and that the elections held in China will be fair and free, I will call on the United Nations Elections Officials to oversee these elections. Thanks to collaboration with our allies and diplomacy, we’ll also ensure that a Democratic China stops economic cheating and will respect territorial integrity in the South China Sea. Those are the best kind of conditions for a Democratic China and the restoration of freedom there and as President I will work hard to fulfill those conditions.

Rubio 1: Like I said, this move will contribute to the restoration of freedom there because an independent Social Democratic Party will be an actual center-left party of social democracy, which will counter-weight Workers’ Party’s influence as it’s the first time ever that Social Democrats won 100 seats, which will make them able to stand up to any human right violation. That’s the kind of situation we saw in Indonesia and in Poland in 1989 when after 40 years of dominance by the USSR and pro-Soviet parties, Lech Wałęsa’s Solidarity Citizens’ Committee, an anti-communist party, won 161 seats even though the turnout was just 25 %, thus eroding the dominance of the PZPR that lost its majority in the Sejm and leading to Poland’s liberation from the Soviet Union’s oppression.

Our administration accomplished what our predecessors have failed, which is to get North Korea to give up their nuclear weapons thanks to strong diplomacy, collaboration with our allies and strong American leadership, contributing to global peace. But my opponent demeans our allies’ contributions, claiming that we acted alone. Look at the 2018 inter-Korean summit when South Korea worked with North Korea to ratify the Panmunjom Declaration in which they pledged to end "hostile activities" between their nations, for resumption of reunion meetings for divided families, improve connections along their border, and cease propaganda broadcasts across it. That's what happened. Our allies deserve the respect of Americans, not the scorn of my opponent. I’m the only one on this stage who has a plan to liberate Pyongyang’s political prisoners and guarantee they will be allowed to travel outside the country by negotiating amnesty for them like the U.S. successfully negotiated amnesty for Cuba’s political prisoners with the Castro regime in 1978, like when Gorbachev shutdown Gulags, released political prisoners and gave them amnesty in 1987. Thanks to bold diplomacy and American leadership, we’ll ensure full freedom for political prisoners and stand up for freedom in the region.

Rubio 2: Obama’s policies, including tax-hikes and big government supported by Senator Duckworth, gave us the slowest economy in history, cost 300,000 manufacturing jobs, our GDP annual growth rate was stuck under 2 % in the last months of the previous administration under which Hispanic unemployment rate hit one of its highest in history and youth unemployment rate its highest ever. Because we passed the largest tax cuts in history thanks to my legislation effort to double the Child Tax Credit, we encouraged massive economic growth that made America the best place in the world to do business, our GDP Annual Growth rate consistently reached above 2 % and reached 3 %, the middle-class is thriving, we created 7 and-a-half million jobs, including 500,000 manufacturing jobs, reduced unemployment rate at its lowest rate in 50 years, brought Hispanic and African-American unemployment rates at the lowest rate ever and youth unemployment rate at its lowest in 58 years. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, I passed legislation reducing taxes on small businesses, increasing their ability to expand, produce, compete and create jobs.

Under a Rubio Administration, we’ll achieve prosperity by preserving and expanding our status as the best business-friendly environment, reducing middle-class taxes to 15 %, taking advantage of our sources of energy and invest revenues from oil drilling into renewable energy, making America the most competitive economy in the world through free trade and prioritizing infrastructure development. Though Senator Duckworth opposed the TCJA that got this economy to the prosperity we’re living, opposed repealing the Estate tax, extending tax deductions, repealing the death tax and marriage penalty tax, we have to note that she improperly tried to claim two homeowner tax exemptions over a period of several years in order to avoid paying taxes herself. After a Daily Herald investigation in 2012 she’s been forced to pay over $2000 in owed taxes and penalties. So, Senator, before criticizing our tax-cut policies, you better first take a look in the mirror.

Duckworth 1: It’s curious that Senator Duckworth now opposes military action because in 2014 she voted against prohibiting combat operations in Iraq before she changed her position and opposed airstrikes on ISIS - which my opponent's party described as a J.V. Team - even when they controlled 70 % of Iraq and used it as a base to launch attacks on us and our allies as we’ve seen in Paris, Nice, Brussels, San Bernardino, Garland, Philadelphia and Orlando. That’s the kind of inconsistency that encourages enemies and confuses allies. Because we rebuilt our military, that Senator Duckworth repeatedly voted to slash, and strengthened our alliances, we defeated ISIS. But we also did that by providing the Kurds in training and arsenal. Despite the Kurds’ big role in defeating ISIS, Senator Duckworth voted against arming, training and supplying the Kurds. She believes we should wait until we’re attacked before keeping America safe, I would argue that we’ve already been attacked. That’s the big difference between Senator Duckworth and myself : she wants peace through surrender and vulnerability, I want peace through strength.

That’s what we’ll achieve under my presidency by providing our Western African allies in training and arsenal to help them defeat Boko Haram, by destroying their infrastructure and oil refineries through drone airstrikes, thus requiring less troops in harm’s way. The development of unmanned vessels and warships equipped with anti-satellite drones will enable us to intercept hostile submarines without needing more troops. We’ll normalize relations with Polonsky’s Russia to restore stability, peace and territorial integrity in Europe and the Middle East and ensure the expansion of human rights and freedom. We’ll sign the Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty to prohibit using fissile material to build WMDs and nuclear weapons, completing our path to a nuclear-free world and preventing any nuclear war. I have the right experience to get us there, that’s why I passed those sanctions on Hezbollah and the HKHRDA, helped President Trump defeat ISIS, led the diplomatic mission getting Iran to officially denuclearize and stop state-sponsoring terrorism. You can count on my experience, leadership and vision to keep us safe and spread global peace.

Duckworth 2: We live in a free society, and freedom means freedom for everybody. I think marriage is a sacred institution, I’m going to accept and respect other people’s points of view. Though I believe marriage should be between a man and a woman, I also believe in general terms that gays and lesbians should have the same rights as other Americans. That’s why the Log Cabin Republicans endorsed my campaign. Traditionally, that's been an issue for the states. States have regulated marriage, if you will. That would be my preference. And let me be clear, granting that power to the states doesn’t make you a bigot. While I prefer for gay marriage to be decided upon by individual states, I will not make it a priority to bring down the decision, I will instead focus on other issues that unite the American people such as the economy, foreign policy, infrastructure development, health care, education, etc., because we ought to unite this country, not divide it.

Closing statement : Throughout this campaign and this debate, everything Senator Duckworth had to say is a noun, a verb and Donald Trump. This election isn’t about Donald Trump or about me, it’s about you, about opportunity. My parents came here from Cuba with nothing, working hard seeking the American Dream as a bartender and a housekeeper. If someone had approached them in 1956 and said 60 years hence your son would go as far as serving as Vice-President of the United States, they couldn’t believe it. But it was their purpose to fight to make sure all the doors that were closed to them will be open for their children. This has always been the purpose of my political engagement to preserve America’s status as the land where everything is possible for all Americans. It’s a choice about keeping this economic boom going. We have the lowest Hispanic and African-American unemployment rates, lowest unemployment rate in 50 years, created 7 and-a-half million jobs. We can’t afford to screw that up through higher taxes making America a harder place to do business and empty your pockets. My plan will get us to full-employment through a middle-class tax relief, advantage over all our sources of energy, free trade and fiscal discipline. My foreign policy will give our children opportunity to live in a free, safe and peaceful world through a strong military, diplomacy and alliances, elements that helped us defeat ISIS, denuclearized North Korea and Iran and put freedom on the march across the globe.

Unlike what my opponent says, we’re the party of all Americans that stands up for liberty and opportunity for all. That’s why I’m endorsed by Democrats like Joe Manchin, Jim Webb, Joe Lieberman. Unlike my opponent who voted 80 % of the time with her party leaders, I’ve been able to reach across the aisle and passed the Terror Intelligence Improvement Act, sanctions on Hezbollah and the HKHRDA. I need your vote and a Republican Congress to get America to full employment through tax reform and free enterprise, protect your rights and provide long-term global peace through strength, thus protecting our status as the land of opportunity. Thank you.

Marco Rubio's TV Ad

In an effort to win among voters concerned about the Opioid Crisis in New England, in the Rust Belt, in the South and in the West and to win the key battleground states in those regions, Marco Rubio's presidential campaign broadcasts an ad about the seriousness of this epidemic in those regions and about Marco Rubio's record of efforts and accomplishments to combat the Opioid Epidemic and his plan as President to fight it.

Title : Bold Action

Airing :  Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska's 2nd congressional district, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin

Bold Action ad narration :

Source : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opioid_epidemic_in_the_United_States#/media/File:US_map_of_drug_overdose_deaths_per_100,000_population_by_state.gif
Narrator : In the last few years, America was facing one of the most devastating epidemics we've ever known : the Opioid crisis.

Own creation
States like New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina, etc. are among the states that the Opioid Crisis hit the most along with their neighboring states in New England, the Rust Belt and the South as well as an important part of the West and the South, causing 39.0 per 100 000 drug overdose deaths overall (nationally) in the Granite State in 2016. Pennsylvania has the 11th highest rate of youth affected by the opioid epidemic and the state suffered 37.9 per 100,000 of the 64,070 overdose deaths in 2016. Michigan is tied with Florida and Arizona for the 13th highest rate of children affected by the Opioid crisis and suffered 26.6 per 100 000 drug overdose deaths. North Carolina has the 15th highest rate of youth affected by the opioid epidemic and suffered 22.4 per 100 000 drug overdose deaths.

Own creation
Inaction on this issue was clearly unacceptable. We had to fight back.

Own creation
That’s why Marco Rubio successfully co-introduced the Fentanyl Sanctions Act of 2019, a bipartisan anti-opioid measure to impose sanctions against Chinese and other foreign traffickers of fentanyl.

Own creation

Own creation
He championed provisions to the SUPPORT Act, the single largest legislative package addressing a single drug crisis in history, to help stop payments to middlemen referring patients to illicit sober homes and treatment centers; an amendment to improve the quality of care provided to newborn babies suffering from opioid withdrawal by providing states additional funding to research babies born with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome; the Hospice Safe Drug Disposal Act to allow hospice providers to safely dispose of unused opioids so they do not end up in the wrong hands; the Sober Home Fraud Detection Act to help states, law enforcement, private insurers and patients identify potentially illicit sober homes to make sure those who need care are able to find reputable legitimate facilities; the SALTS Act that made it easier for law enforcement to prosecute those that sell and distribute synthetic drugs that are substantially similar to other illegal drugs by closing a loophole that enabled wrongdoers to avoid prosecution by simply labeling the deadly drug as “not intended for human consumption”; and the Synthetics Trafficking and Overdose Prevention (STOP) Act, legislation to interdict fentanyl, synthetic opioids, and other narcotics by requiring international shipments though the U.S. Postal Service to provide advance information on where the shipment is coming from, where it is going, and its contents, and to instruct U.S. Postal Service and Customs and Border Protection to develop technology to identify fentanyl and illicit opioids entering the United States by mail.

Own creation
As President, Marco Rubio will do the following in order to combat the Opioid Crisis : 1) reduce demand and over-prescription, including educating Americans about the dangers of opioid misuse; 2) cut down on the supply of illicit drugs by cracking down on the international and domestic drug supply chains that devastate American communities; 3) help those struggling with addiction through evidence-based treatment and recovery support services.

Own creation
That's why he needs your help and your vote to lead this fight, because our security, the American people's health and our children's future depends on it, because our children’s future is worth fighting for.

Own creation
Marco Rubio : I'm Marco Rubio and I approve this message.

TURN XX: THE END (NOVEMBER 1 - 5)
IRL: July 20 - 23; extensions until July 26 as needed

Third presidential debate will follow the same format as the first presidential debate, and will be posted later today.

President Trump Approval Rating
Disapprove: 53%
Approve: 43%
Undecided: 4%

GE Polls:

Marco Rubio: 49%
Tammy Duckworth: 48%

Rubio wins second presidential debate

Vice President Marco Rubio has been judged to have won the second presidential debate by a plurality of viewers, 48% to 46% for Senator Duckworth. Rubio, unlike in the previous debate, kept his answers more succinct, allowing for his entire responses to be heard. Nevertheless, Senator Duckworth held her own during the debate, only narrowly losing to Rubio.

Final presidential debate looms as Rubio, Duckworth ready for tiebreaker

The third and final presidential debate between Senator Duckworth and Vice President Rubio is scheduled for November 3 and promises to be a decisive final battle. The Vice President effected an aura of confidence once again, claiming he'd "now proven to the American people that, in spite of liberal attempts at censorship, we can be heard and agreed with, and we will win over a majority of voters next debate." Senator Duckworth, meanwhile, reminded people that her own debate victory had been far more substantial, with Rubio's falling within the margin of error. The upcoming debate will be held at Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, and will be moderated by Elaine Quijano and Brett Baier.

(Due to the fact that last turn was literally just the debate, events outside China haven't developed much.)

ZZJ "captures" Putin in daring raid; Chinese government declares it kidnapping

Vladimir Putin, former President and Prime Minister of Russia, following reports of his death on Chinese social media, was taken from his residence in Wuhan in a daring raid by the ZZJ, who overpowered his bodyguards and appear to have used gas to incapacitate the fallen leader. They have declared that Putin, despite generally leading what most Western commentators saw as a right-wing government, is "a servant of Communism," and "a vile brute who tortured people for disloyalty to the great lie." While Putin's eventual fate is unknown, Beijing is already assuming the worst, claiming that "these pro-capitalist barbarians have kidnapped a man wrongfully forced from his homeland and are now going to kill him unless we act swiftly and forcefully." As a result, a portion of what military forces are still loyal to the Communist Party has been dispatched to the believed ZZJ hideout where Putin is supposedly imprisoned. Time will tell what happens next.

ZZJ seizes control of Shanghai government buildings; Chinese government "will retake them posthaste"

The ZZJ has managed to seize control of several key government buildings in Shanghai, China's largest city, wreaking havoc on the government's control there. Asked for a statement, a spokesman for the organization declared "the time of Xi and his lapdogs has come to an end. The people want to be ruled by men again, not Pooh and the Piglets. The Communists are cowards; they can't hold on much longer." The government, meanwhile, has called this "a temporary setback, and one which will be rectified when we retake [the buildings] posthaste." Time will tell who will win on this front.

(If there were any follow-ups/additional news stories I missed, please let me know.)

THIRD PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE 2024
Baier: Good evening. I'm Brett Baier of Fox News.

Quijano: And I'm Elaine Quijano of CBS.

Baier: And we are here at Beloit College in Wisconsin, to bring you the third presidential debate of this election cycle.

Quijano: Indeed we are. Now, we have here tonight the two main contenders for President, Senator Tammy Duckworth and Vice President Marco Rubio.

Baier: Each candidate will give an opening statement, answer three general and two personal questions, and give a closing statement. With that established, let's begin:

General 1:
The ZZJ, by its swift takeover of the Shanghai government buildings, has secured itself as the dominant resistance faction against the government in China. As a result, Supreme Leader Kim Yo-Jong of North Korea has deployed troops to the Chinese border out of fear that "these rabid capitalist dogs will seek to attack the Democratic People's Republic after they have mauled the Chinese." As President, how would you ensure North Korea's safety in the event of a ZZJ takeover in China?

General 2:
Numerous lawsuits have already been filed in an attempt to reinstate Roe v. Wade since its striking down earlier this year. How would you approach these suits as President?

General 3:
Russian President Sergei Polonsky has called for the ZZJ to extradite former President Putin for trial in Russia. Do you believe this should be done, and, if not, what should be?

Rubio 1:
In a recent ad, you stated you would use evidence-based treatment options for dealing with the opioid crisis. One of the most prominent methods used to some success was in Switzerland, where the government provided users with free drugs to kill the illegal trade, then slowly weaned them off the substances afterward. Do you believe this is a viable solution, and, if not, how would you approach it?

Rubio 2:
In a recent statement, the ZZJ has attacked Taiwan for not sending aid to them in their fight against the government. How would you smooth over relations between these two entities as President, given the fact that, as is the case with Taiwan and the PRC, both claim the entirety of mainland China and Taiwan?

Duckworth 1:
A recent poll suggested that safe and easy access to abortion is now a top priority for 23% of likely voters, and that they break for you 87-9%. Do you believe this is proof the nation stands with you and against the Supreme Court ruling on this issue?

Duckworth 2:
Similar to the question we just asked the Vice President, how would you deal with the rising tensions between the Republic of Taiwan and the ZZJ?

(Debate responses will be due at the end of the turn.)

1.   Hello, Erie! It is important to note that Tammy Duckworth is the face of the Washington DC syndrome – the say anything/do anything to win votes. Because she would. If she were to believe that switching over to Anarchism would help her odds of winning the election, she would do it immediately. In 2012 she said that she would absolutely lower taxes, as it would help the economy, but then went to to vote with people like Pelosi and DC Liberals against every tax cut ever proposed during her term. In 2014, she both supported and opposed airstrikes against ISIS, and she managed to do it in the same day! She voted against prohibiting combat operations in Iraq but then opposed airstrikes on ISIS. In other words, she was for Operation Inherent Resolve before she was against it. She first supported the Benghazi Investigation, touting her place in this committee and promising to hold Hillary Clinton accountable for her use of a private email server as SoS and her move to delete 30 000 emails, but then flip flopped to support Clinton's corruption and suggested to wrap up the work aimed at finding out the truth and keeping America safe. She says she's an assailant of special interests, but took hundreds of thousands from them, she's been supported by Super PACs funded by George Soros as well, including J Street (the most anti-Israel Super PAC in the country) and she received $162 372 from Wall Street to fund her senate campaign in addition of receiving more money from the securities and investment industry than all but 22 other House members in the 2016 cycle, more than all but 5 other House Democrats and more than any Democratic House member from Illinois. And she also voted against the TCJA that also eliminated special interest deduction and closed loopholes. She attacks the Republicans for supporting oil production, but repeatedly voted for pro-oil, pro-coal nominees like Dan Brouillette to match her political fortunes. I mean, I do not know where Tammy Duckworth stands on issues anymore but one thing is clear – her only belief is power, her only principle is influence, her only value is helping herself and her ideology is opportunism. But Marco Rubio and I are focused on you. America comes first. That's why we'll reduce taxes for the middle-class, strengthen America's status as the best place in the world to start a business, take advantage of all of America's sources of energy for the sake of energy independence, invest in infrastructure, take care of our veterans, provide decent education opportunities for our children to give them the tools they need to succeed, etc. And that's why we need you to come to the polls and vote for Marco Rubio.

2.   Hello, Pennsylvania State University! This is a place that means the world to me. I was formed as a person by this school here in State College, Pennsylvania. It helped me a lot in my career and it is truly the gold standard of education. After I got here a Master of Supply Chain Management and Information Systems degree, I went on to lead the James Group International, a very succesful company that created jobs by managing and optimizing the company's customer’s supply chain infrastructures and processes through designing and implementing complex supply chain solutions and leveraging information technology. I know what one has to do to help boost the economy and build prosperity. And Marco Rubio does too, as shown by the leadership he took as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Businessess who fought to reduce taxes on small businesses and won and as one of the main leaders in the effort to pass the Trump Tax Cuts through his amendment to double the Child Tax Credit from $1000 to $2000 and won. The policies supported by Marco Rubio and I built this great economy, the strongest in a generation, and they did it through tax cuts. However, Tammy Duckworth has no idea what one has to do to help boost the economy. She knows how to boost taxes and regulations, just like the Democrats did 8 years ago, and her frankly insane policies would cause an economic slowdown or even another recession. The Rubio/James ticket proposes a different path, one based on prosperity through low taxes, small government and achieving energy independence. And on November 5th you will have to choose between a huge, socialistic, incompetent government or a smart, small but effective government. The latter option is what got this economy to where it is today, that's what we promote and that's why we ask for your vote for the sake of long-term economic prosperity for all Americans and for the protection and expansion of the American Dream and our country's status as the land of opportunity. Thank you.

Marco Rubio's TV Ad

In an effort to appeal among voters who selected the economy as the most important issue, the Rubio campaign broadcasts an ad featuring American workers leaving home to work in order to emphasize on the economic growth of the last 8 years and narrating Marco Rubio's leadership and plan to pursue that economic boom for the sake of job creation.

Title : Going to Work

Airing : Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska's 2nd congressional district, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin

Going to Work ad narration :

Narrator : Every day, more and more Americans are leaving home to work.

Since 2017, new jobs have been created for almost 8 million Americans (including 500 000 in the manufacturing sector) one of the longest periods of economic growth without recession, a period marked by the preservation of America’s status as the best place in the world to start a business, a GDP annual growth rate consistently reaching above 2 %, a middle-class thriving, the lowest unemployment rate in more than 50 years, the lowest African-American and Hispanic unemployment rates ever recorded, the lowest youth unemployment rate in 58 years.

Own creation; Own creation

Own creation; Own creation
Why putting America’s future at risk by going back to the way things were 7 years ago, before Americans began to work again, through higher taxes and regulations that will kill opportunity, cost jobs and ship businesses overseas, contributed to the highest youth rate ever and cost America 300 000 manufacturing jobs, including 37 000 in Ohio, 38 000 in Michigan, 18 000 in Wisconsin and 45 000 in Pennsylvania?

Own creation; Own creation
This campaign is about keeping the economic boom going and Marco Rubio is the most prepared to do so. He led the effort to double the Child Tax Credit, which helped pass the largest tax reform legislation ever and helped America to prosper. He served as Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, leading the way to reduce taxes and fiscal burden of small businesses for the sake of a stronger competition, production, expansion and ability to create jobs by small businesses that create 7 out of 10 of the jobs in America.

Own creation; Own creation
His running mate John James ran businesses, including his family business named the James Group International, and created jobs in Michigan and led the company from $35 million to $137 million in revenue by managing and optimizing the company's customer’s supply chain infrastructures and processes through designing and implementing complex supply chain solutions and leveraging information technology. As CEO, he grew the company into a major trading partner with Michigan’s auto industry. He also served as CEO of Renaissance Global Logistics. The Rubio/James ticket is by far the most qualified team to pursue and expand America’s economic growth. No wonder that The Economist endorsed Marco Rubio.

Under a Rubio/James Administration, we will keep taxes low so you can keep more of your hard-earned money and so we will preserve America's status as the best business-friendly environment in the world, we will reduce middle-class taxes from 22 % to 15 % while indexing capital gains for inflation and creating a tax-preferred savings vehicle for the sake of a stronger American middle-class

Our country will achieve energy independence by taking advantage of our oil, gas, coal, nuclear, wind, solar, geothermal, tide, hydroelectric energies, invest a part of oil drilling revenues into the development of renewable energies instead of doing so by taking away taxpayers' money. We'll promote free trade with our allies to make our country the most competitive nation in the world economy and to make certain that American businesses will be able to make direct investments into foreign economies to produce goods at a lower cost in these environments.

Infrastructure development will soar through an investment into it as well as through a reduction of the federal gasoline tax rate by 80 %; a veto on any gas-tax increase; a turn back of the control of the highways to the states; stopping special interests in Washington from building “Bridges to Nowhere” and engaging in other wasteful spending; freeing states from the strings that come attached to federal funding; removing barriers to public-private partnerships; repealing the Davis-Bacon Act that inflates government costs by billions every year and is a giveaway of taxpayer dollars to labor unions and phasing out the Mass Transit Account, which loots the Highway Trust Fund. That way, thanks to new infrastructures, we will facilitate economic activities and encourage the implementation of new businesses here in America as well as further job creation.

That’s the way to provide unprecedented long-term economic prosperity for all Americans, get our country to full employment and preserve and expand America’s status as the land of opportunity. And that’s why we need you to stand together for opportunity by voting for the most qualified team ever to manage our economy and keep America prosperous. Vote for Marco Rubio and John James.

Tammy Duckworth Runs Ad "Left Behind"

"Marco Rubio loves to talk about the supposed economic prosperity of the past eight years, but it never reached families like mine."

"From tax cuts clearly only meant for the wealthy and corporations, to tariffs that cost Americans $3.2 billion on things like solar panels and washing machines, while costing us thousands of jobs."

"All while the minimum wage hasn't been raised in decades, healthcare costs have gone up and coverage has gone down."

"When I hear Marco Rubio talk about prosperity, I worry he's only talking about prosperity for the wealthy, not families like mine."

"That's why my family and I will be supporting Tammy Duckworth because she actually cares about what everyday Americans are going through. She's got plans to restore the Middle Class, rather than giving the wealthy another tax cut."

"I'm Tammy Duckworth and I approve this message."

Marco Rubio's response to Tammy Duckworth's attacks in Fayetteville, North Carolina

First of all, I find that strange and ironic that Senator Duckworth dares lecturing me, a son of working-class immigrants who inhereted no money, about living paycheck to paycheck while she has improperly tried to claim two homeowner tax exemptions over a period of several years in order to avoid paying taxes herself and then has been forced to pay over $2000 in owed taxes and penalties following a Daily Herald investigation. I was raised paycheck to paycheck. My parents came from Cuba with nothing, with no money, no fluency in English, no higher education, but they worked hard every day as a bartender and a housekeeper to make sure that their children will have access to all the opportunities they couldn't have and that has always been the purpose of my political engagement to make sure that the next generation earns all the opportunities that the previous generation couldn't have. So it is simply wrong to say that I don't care about everyday Americans. I do care about everyday Americans and I spent my entire political life fighting for them by advocating a strong economy that works for all Americans and unlike what Senator Duckworth says that's what we did in the last 8 years and unlike her I know how to get us there.

Once again, Senator Duckworth is playing the politics of fear in this time of prosperity and growing economy that hasn't known any period of recession, an era in which we saw the creation of 7 and-a-half million new jobs, recorded the lowest Hispanic and African-American unemployment rate, the lowest youth unemployment rate in almost 60 years and the lowest unemployment rate in 55 years. Because she knows that she can't win on economic issues. No wonder that I'm outperforming the President's approval ratings. So my opponent is clearly getting desperate and that's why she's engaging in mudslinging, claiming that the prosperity of the last 8 years has benefited only for the wealthy and corporations, which is just not true. She just doesn't have the facts. The Institute for Taxation and Economic Policy, a non-partisan institute organization that is not running any candidates in the current election campaign and is much more objective than Senator Duckworth,  reported that the tax cuts policies adopted by this administration benefited the middle-class : a family of four with annual income of $73,000 (median family income) saw a tax cut of more than $2,058, a 58 percent reduction in federal taxes. A single parent with one child earning $41 000 a year saw a tax cut of $1,304, a 73 percent reduction in federal taxes. Nine out of ten taxpayers with annual income between $64,000 and $108,000 earned an average federal tax cut of $1400 in 2018. These are not my words, these are the words of the left of center Institute for Taxation and Economic Policy. Similarly, 90 % of taxpayers winning between $40,000 and $64,000 got an average federal tax cut of $810, while 87 percent of taxpayers with annual income between $108,000 and $232,000 saw an average federal tax cut of $2,710. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act doubled the standard deduction for an individual from $6,000 to $12,000 and for a family from $12,000 to $24,000. 105 million Americans took the standard deduction in 2015 according to the IRS statistics of income (SOI) database. These are not my words, these are the words of the Institute for Taxation and Economic Policy. Yet Senator Duckworth voted against those tax policies that benefited the middle-class, standing in the way of more jobs and higher wages for the middle-class. The moreover that she changed her position on taxes as she said, when she ran for Congress, that she supported lowering taxes as a means to encourage economic growth but then she changed her position and repeatedly voted in favor of raising taxes. America's next President needs to be firm on issues and be consistent, there's a lot of pressures and challenges. But unfortunately, consistency is not a quality describing Tammy Duckworth. And not only did the tax cuts of the last 8 years benefit the middle-class, but it also helped low-income communities through the creation of Opportunity Zones that offered tax incentives for businesses to invest in economically distressed communities, making them a powerful vehicle for economic growth and job creation, jumpstart our American communities, create momentum for economic recovery, and attract investment to diverse areas across our nation. So is Senator Duckworth seriously saying that investing in economically distressed communities is scam? We can't afford to move this country backwards to the same failed tax-hike, big government policies that gave us the slowest economy in history and cost America 300 000 manufacturing jobs, including 50 000 here in North Carolina, 38 000 in Michigan, 45 000 in Pennsylvania, 18 000 in Wisconsin and 37 000 in Ohio.

Unlike my opponent, I have the experience to get this economy growing and I know what it takes to encourage job creation. I chaired the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship and I fought to pass legislation that reduced taxes on small businesses and that's why small businesses such as Industrial Weldors & Machinists in Minnesota, Guy Chemical Company in Pennsylvania, Hinee Gourmet Coffee in Texas, Deckscapes in Virginia, Advanced Superabrasives here in North Carolina, Rockford Ball Screw in Senator Duckworth's home state of Illinois, Northwest Motor Services in Washington, WebHobby Shop in Michigan and Junk King in Nevada are expanding operations, increasing wages, providing new benefits, and hiring more employees. My running mate and America's next Vice-President, Michigan Senator John James ran businesses and created jobs by managing and optimizing the company's customer’s supply chain infrastructures and processes through designing and implementing complex supply chain solutions and leveraging information technology. That's why The Economist has endorsed me over Senator Duckworth. And I have a plan to make sure this economic boom reaches all Americans, including everyday Americans, middle-class and lower income Americans. And we're going to do that passing a middle-class tax cut that will reduce middle-class taxes from 22 % to 15 % while indexing capital gains for inflation and creating a tax-preferred savings vehicle for the sake of a stronger American middle-class, which is key to a strong economy. We're going to get America to energy independence by taking advantage of our oil, gas, coal, nuclear, wind, solar, geothermal, tide, hydroelectric energies, invest a part of oil drilling revenues into the development of renewable energies instead of doing so by taking away taxpayers' money. We'll promote free trade with our allies to make our country the most competitive nation in the world economy and to make certain that American businesses will be able to make direct investments into foreign economies to produce goods at a lower cost in these environments. We will make infrastructure development a top priority by investing into it as well as by reducing the federal gasoline tax rate by 80 %; vetoing any gas-tax increase; turning back control of the highways to the states; stopping special interests in Washington from building “Bridges to Nowhere” and engaging in other wasteful spending; freeing states from the strings that come attached to federal funding; removing barriers to public-private partnerships; repealing the Davis-Bacon Act that inflates government costs by billions every year and is a giveaway of taxpayer dollars to labor unions and phasing out the Mass Transit Account, which loots the Highway Trust Fund. That way, thanks to new infrastructures, we will facilitate economic activities and encourage the implementation of new businesses here in America as well as further job creation.

Don't let anyone try to fool you, certainly not our political opponents who want to raise the taxes of the American people, including the middle-class, and increase the size of government, which will cost your jobs, your wages, your house and your businesses. We're focusing on you and about America's future. We know that free enterprise is the right solution to our economic challenges. We know this election is about promoting opportunity for all Americans and we have the right experience, knowledge, vision and agenda to make sure this economy keeps growing and will work for all Americans. That's why I ask you to stand up together for opportunity and I ask for your vote in November to keep moving this country forward.

Thank you. God bless you and God bless America!

North Carolina is a big example of the fact that free enterprise and lower taxes are the right solutions to grow the economy and create jobs.

Thanks to the tax reform, small government and free enterprise policies adopted in the last 8 years, North Carolina’s unemployment rate has been reduced from 5.1 % to 2.2 %, which is the lowest rate in all the country. As a result of the tax cuts, North Carolina is one of only 15 states with a AAA rating. As a result of the tax cuts, North Carolina residents are saving money on utility bills and electric, water, and gas bills help households and small businesses operating on tight margins. For example, Duke Energy Carolinas and Duke Energy Progress passed along savings from the federal tax law to its North Carolina customers, lowering bills and helping offset increases. That’s why small businesses like Advanced Superabrasives, that is headquartered in Mars Hill, North Carolina, are expanding operations, increasing wages, providing new benefits, and hiring more employees. That’s why D3 Development in Durham, NC, transformed a textile mill into an apartment complex with multiple restaurants in an Opportunity Zone. That’s why 100 percent of Benchmark Auto Sales’ (headquartered in Asheville, NC) staff now has employer-provided health insurance. If Senator Duckworth is elected, that kind of progress will be cancelled because of her tax-hike, regulation-hike and big government agenda that makes America, including North Carolina, a harder place to do business, that believes that prosperity comes from big government, that punishes success, that believes that the harder you work, the more you earn and the more the government takes from you. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, I know that growing this economy requires lower taxes and making America the best place in the world to do business. That’s what we did by lowering taxes on small businesses, encouraging job creation and competition for our companies for the sake of a stronger prosperity. Under our plan, we’ll preserve and strengthen our country’s status as the best business-friendly environment in the world, pass a middle-class tax relief, promote free trade to make our country the most competitive in the world economy and make infrastructure development a top priority. That’s the way to pursue, expand and achieve prosperity for all Americans.

Manufacturing accounts for almost one-fifth of all employment and for roughly one-fifth of the gross domestic product (GDP). The industrial base had become more diversified, with especially strong growth in computers, electronic communications equipment, chemicals, and machinery. The economic policies of big government and higher taxes embraced by Tammy Duckworth cost America 300 000 manufacturing jobs under the previous administration, including over 50 000 in North Carolina. But thanks to the reduction of taxes and the adoption of strong trade partnerships with our allies and friends, 500 000 manufacturing jobs, including 20 000 here in North Carolina, have been added in the economy in the last 8 years.

North Carolina’s electric power is generated mainly by coal-fired thermal plants, with several nuclear stations supplying nearly one-third of the total. Most of the remainder is produced by the state’s numerous hydroelectric dams. North Carolina has the 8th highest gas prices in the nation, which is $14.13/thousand cu ft (while other toss-up states like Florida has the highest gas prices in the country, New Hampshire has the 12h highest gas prices, Georgia the 4th, Arizona the 9th, Maine the 10th, etc.). Yet, in her attempt to impose higher taxes and regulations on our country's energy industry, which only make that problem even worse, Senator Duckworth believes that we can achieve energy independence without more drilling and without more nuclear power. But the American people knows better than that. We need to make sure that America takes advantage of all of its own sources of energy and that’s what I’m going to do as President. We’ll produce more energy here at home so we can be more free from foreign energy, including those from unstable countries in throes of anti-American forces, so we can make our country safer and more prosperous. That requires taking advantage of all of our own sources of energy, including oil, gas coal, nuclear, wind, solar, geothermal, tide, hydroelectric, etc. That is what we’re going to do by encouraging more oil drilling and production, by using a part of the revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable energies instead of doing so with taxpayers’ money, like Senator Duckworth wants to do. That way, we’re going to encourage both job creation and a clean environment. We will increase the use of wind, tide, solar, and natural gas. We'll encourage the development and use of flex-fuel, hybrid and electric automobiles. As our country is now dependent on nuclear energy from Russia and China who are currently beating us in terms of nuclear energy production and exportation, our energy agenda will also make America the world’s leader in nuclear energy power exportation by building 40 new nuclear power plants in America by 2050, by approving tax credits for advanced nuclear projects and subsidies for the building of new nuclear power plants to further improve the American people's access to heat, encourage more job creation and improve our ecological footprint. This plan will also make America number one in the world in terms of nuclear energy production and export, improve American families’ quality of life through even stronger access to electricity and heat and reinforce North Carolina’s status as a leader in energy production as it is the 10th largest producer of electricity in the country (since the state has a total net electricity generation of 7,983 MWh). It will also deprive anti-American forces of revenues from our dependence from foreign energy through our imports of energy from countries either oppressed by anti-American regimes or in throes of terrorism, revenues that would have otherwise financed their plans of terrorist attacks on us and our allies. So our plan will also keep this country safe against anyone seeking to harm our people.

As we know, agriculture is an important component of North Carolina’s economy (50,000 farms in the state). North Carolina is a national leader in the production of sweet potatoes, dry beans, tobacco, pigs, broilers (chickens), and turkeys. Farm income tends to be greatest in the central and southern counties of the Coastal Plain. With its abundance of forests, North Carolina is also a leader in the production of lumber, wood for furniture, Christmas trees, pulp for paper, and other wood products. Family farms constitute an element of the backbone of North Carolina’s economy. But Senator Duckworth’s positions are dramatically out of touch with farmers. I've recently been in Wilmington, North Carolina, where I met with a family farm that has been farming there for over 30 years and expressed their concerns about the consequences of my opponent's call for higher taxes and regulations and bigger government on their farming business and their activities. She voted in favor of the death tax, wants to expand it, which will suck farmers, ranchers and small businesses into it. This liberal tax punishes family farms and forces them to sell off instead of passing on to the next generation. But thanks to the abolition of the death tax, family farms are thriving and our agriculture is stronger than it was 8 years ago, which has also been possible thanks to the ratification of the USMCA that kept tariffs at zero while further opening up the Canadian market to US dairy, poultry and eggs and allowing more Canadian dairy, peanuts and peanut products to cross the border. Here’s our plan to expand our prosperity through an even stronger American agriculture industry and stronger farm families : will reduce taxes and regulations for businesses across this nation, including for agricultural businesses, to help them to innovate and to manufacture more tractors and seeds and other farm products, which will boost job creation, improve agricultural technologies, ensure America's subsistence, reduce the food prices through the reduction of inflation and reduce Americans' dependence on food stamps, which will reinforce their purchasing power and give them more access to food. We’ll approve agricultural subsidies in order to help agricultural communities to recover from the trade war and to strengthen farm businesses’ ability to compete and produce. We will champion free trade, which will lower tariffs and increase exports and imports and increase access to our products, including farm and agricultural products, for 95 % of the world market (as we represent 5 % of the world market). And finally, we will cut ag property taxes in order to grant farmers the opportunity to earn the property of farm lands and to pursue their activities for the sake of their food needs and their quest for the American Dream.

So North Carolina, we need you to mobilize at the highest possible number and to cast your vote for me to keep moving America forward. Thank you! God bless you! God bless North Carolina and God bless America!

Marco Rubio's campaign schedule, Part 2

(Own creation)

November 2, 2024
-Campaign in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with family, Joe Manchin, Nikki Haley, Tom Ridge, Senate candidate Pat Toomey and John James
-Rally with voters in Philadelphia, PA for a speech given by Philadelphia Police Department officer Jesse Hartnett who officially endorses Marco Rubio :

Own creation
Hartnett : My name is Jesse Hartnett. I'm the police officer who survived an assassination attempt by ISIS jihadist Edward Archer in my police car here in Philadelphia on January 7 2016.

I am proud of my service to this great country. Every day, like all police officers across the country, I risked my life protecting our citizens. Right after 9/11, when our liberty has been under assault by radical Islamic terrorists (including Flight 93’s crash in Stonycreek, Pennsylvania), I joined the United States Coast Guard, protecting the people America against any threat attempting to sneak within our country’s territory and kill Americans. I then served in the Coast Guard Reserve and then becoming an officer for the East Lansdowne police and being transferred to the Philadelphia Police Department.

8 years ago, America was facing increasing radical Islamic terrorist threat, which has been allowed by Obama Administration’s cuts in the military, depriving us of the tools needed to keep us safe. That's the kind of weak policies promoted by Tammy Duckworth that made America and our allies easier targets for terrorism. Within a year and-a-half, our allies have been attacked in Paris, Brussels, Nice and we’ve been attacked in Garland, San Bernardino, Orlando (causing 323 innocent deaths, including 63 Americans) and Philadelphia where, while I was driving my patrol car, Edward Archer, who pledged allegiance to ISIS, rushed towards and shot me, inserting the gun into the window of the car and firing at point blank range. I was struck by 3 bullets in the arm, suffering a broken arm and nerve damage. Fortunately, I survived this attack and despite being wounded, I didn’t let him get away, I’ve been able to fire off three gunshots, shooting Archer in the buttocks to stop him and my colleagues in the local police arrested him.

Despite the serious threat represented by radical Islamic terrorism, Senator Duckworth has consistently come down on the wrong side of every national security challenge facing America. In June 2014, even at a time ISIS was controlling 70 % of Iraq as well as an important part of Syria, using it as a base to train jihadists and launch attacks on us and our allies, Senator Duckworth opposed airstrikes against ISIS, opposed Operation Inherent Resolve. Even shortly after ISIS' first attack in America orchestrated in Garland, Texas, Duckworth and her liberal colleagues in Congress voted to slash America’s intelligence operations in June 2015 by supporting a bill prohibiting the bulk collection of data. As a result, six months later, ISIS jihadists attacked us again in San Bernardino (because we did not have access to records, information and other items under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act that would have allowed us to identify these killers before they attacked) and then in Orlando. Senator Duckworth voted against prohibiting the transfer of Guantanamo terrorists to any foreign country even though such transfers could have allowed them to escape, to be on the run once again, to return to terrorism and to orchestrate even more attacks on us and our allies like it happened with Said Ali al-Shiri who returned to terrorism after being set free, co-founded Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) in addition of calling upon Somali pirates to increase their attacks on western shipping and leading the Al-Qaeda insurgency in Yemen before being killed by a drone. Duckworth supported President Obama’s so-called nuclear deal with Iran that handed billions of dollars to a country that was the world’s largest state-sponsor of terrorism in that era. Despite the fact that the Kurds played a big role in defeating ISIS, Senator Duckworth voted against authorizing aid to the Kurds and providing them in military arsenal, training and equipment, including ammunition, fuel, combat vehicles and body armors. Let me tell you this, one of the reasons why I survived this assassination attempt by Edward Archer is because I was wearing a body armor. Without it, I may not be standing right here before you today. And that's how we and our allies defeated ISIS, because we had access to all the necessary equipment and arsenal to do so. Even though the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, a German spy agency, that ISIS jihadists were sneaking within the Syrian refugees to commit terrorist attacks in Europe and here in America and after ISIS used fake Syrian passports to commit the horrific terrorist attacks in Paris and were printing thousands more fake passports, Senator Duckworth, more motivated by partisan politics than national security, voted against the SAFE Act that expanded background checks for Syrian and Iraqi refugees applying for admission to the United States while that bill has been supported by 47 of her fellow Democrats in order to make sure that tragedies like the one that wounded me in Philadelphia won’t occur again. But Duckworth even signed on for 200,000 refugees to America, which is 20 times more than President Obama suggested, which would have further increased the risk of ISIS jihadists disguising as refugees and thus putting their operatives among the refugees to come to Europe and to America and kill us as the FBI said the refugees can’t be safely screened.

We have to understand that because we reinforced our homeland security, rebuilt and modernized our military, strengthened our alliances and restored American leadership in the last 8 years, we defeated ISIS in the Middle East, decimated their core leadership and deprived global terrorism of supply from Iran’s past state-sponsored terrorism thanks to a normalization of our relations with Arsham Parsi’s Iran. One of the most important issues of this campaign is who has the best understanding of how to keep America safe. We need a President who has the right experience to do so, who will keep our military strong, keep us on offense against terror until we obtain final victory against them, strengthen and expand our alliances and champion American leadership, which are all factors that made America safer now than ever before. That’s why I’m proud to endorse Marco Rubio for President of the United States!

He has the right experience and vision to keep us safe. In the Senate, he passed a bill toughening sanctions on Hezbollah to prevent that terrorist organization and associated  entities  from  gaining  access  to  international  financial  and  other  institutions,  and for other purposes; sponsored the Strengthening America's Security in the Middle East Act of 2019 that authorized assistance and weapons transfers to Israel and extended defense cooperation with Jordan and the U.S.-Jordan Defense Cooperation Act to provide assistance to our Jordanian allies in the battle against ISIS and in dealing with the Syrian refugee crisis. As VP, he helped President Trump to defeat ISIS and three years ago he led the diplomatic trip that got Arsham Parsi’s Iran to denuclearize and to stop state-sponsoring terrorism and led to a normalization between our 2 countries. He is ready to be Commander-in-Chief on Day 1 and he will work with our allies, keep our military strong and lead us to final victory against terrorism. I am proud to introduce to you the next President of the United States of America, Marco Rubio.

Rubio : Thank you, officer Hartnett! Thank you for your service to Philadelphia and for your endorsement! I am proud of his brave service to our country and of the courage he displayed the day he escaped death and neutralized this lone wolf terrorist who tried to kill him by shooting him, preventing him from running away and harming more people. We are proud of the servicemen, soldier, police officer, firefighter, etc. who are protecting our people and our country’s freedom.

As we’ve seen in the last 8 years, keeping America safe and defeating the threats facing our nation requires preserving our status as the most powerful military in the world. That’s how we defeated ISIS and eliminated Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The creation of the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office allowed us to counter any attempts by terrorists or other threat actors to carry out an attack against the United States or its interests using a weapon of mass destruction by supporting operational partners in closing capability gaps along adversary pathways and by investing and developing innovative technologies to meet partner requirements and improve operations. That will prevent terrorists like Boko Haram from using Niger’s uranium to build nuclear weapons to launch nuclear terrorist attacks on us and our allies. It's the responsibility of the next President to do whatever it takes to keep our country safe and defeat the threats seeking to deprive us of our liberty. Under my presidency, we'll do so by providing military training and arsenal to our Western African allies in order to help them defeat Boko Haram and destroying Boko Haram key targets such as their infrastructure and their controlled oil refineries through drone airstrikes to deprive them of any war effort, which will not only require less troops in harm’s way but also cost our country less as drones are significantly cheaper to purchase, fuel, and maintain than regular airplanes. We’ll accomplish our path to a nuclear-free world through signing the Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty to prohibit the use of fissile material to build nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction, which will reinforce global peace and eliminate any risk of nuclear war. That’s why I ask for your vote because if you put your trust in me, we’re going to ensure that America will never be attacked again by our enemies and give our children and grandchildren the opportunity to grow up in a world of long-term peace, security and freedom.

Thank you! God bless you and God bless America!

-Rally with voters in Scranton, PA for a speech given by Independent Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti :

Own creation
I’m an Independent. Now more than ever we need strong national unity. That’s why I always put the people of Scranton first before my own interests. When I ran for Mayor, this city was ruled by a culture of corruption in which our politicians were disrespecting our hard-work and proud legacy. But when I became mayor, we turned things around, I brought Republicans and Democrats together to fix Scranton. We fought corruption by reforming the culture of local government and put an end to this kind of political manipulation which means making sure the City adheres to laws and follows proper procedures in every function and in every situation, making Scranton a much safer place. We have repaired our broken infrastructure through huge investments into it. We promoted budgetary transparency. We matched education and training with local job opportunities. We cut taxes for all Scrantonians, including the middle-class, and cut red tapes for local businesses, which made it clear that Scranton is a place open for business, attracting investment and ensuring job creation through the promotion of free enterprise, reducing our city’s unemployment rate from 6 % to 4.4 %. Getting things done requires bringing both parties together and put partisanship aside. What I did for Scranton, Marco Rubio will do for America and that’s why I’m proud to endorse him.

In this presidential race, Marco Rubio is the only presidential contender to have proven and displayed willingness to reach across the aisle and work with both parties in order to get things done. To him, our country matters more than partisanship because we are Americans first and above all. That’s why he called for a ban offshore oil drilling off the Florida coast and blocked the Senate confirmation of Katharine MacGregor to be deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Interior until he gets assurances regarding his desire for a ban of offshore oil drilling near Florida. He fought hard to convince Jim Inhofe to commit to authorizing the Central Everglades Planning Project in the water resources bill for the sake of the restoration of the Everglades after years of opposition, and thus Senator Inhofe featured the Everglades as one of the reasons why this water bill needed to be approved. When his home state accounted for 20 % of the recorded cases of Zika in the U.S., Marco Rubio broke with his party majority and was among the 22 Republican senators who supported a $2 billion emergency funding to combat the Zika virus. After America suffered the worst terrorist attack on its national soil since 9/11 when a terrorist named Omar Mateen killed 50 people in Orlando, while the Democrats politicized that tragedy to call for stricter gun control, Marco Rubio introduced and passed the Terror Intelligence Improvement Act that allowed the U.S. attorney general to delay a firearms' purchase for up to three days and filed an emergency court petition if someone previously investigated for terrorism tried to buy a gun, ensuring that if any gun purchaser has been suspected for terror in the last decade like Mateen, the FBI would be notifying that he or she has gone in to buy a gun and would have the chance to stop that sale and to investigate what you’re up to. In order to counter the threat represented by Hezbollah, he worked with Jeanne Shaheen to pass the the Hezbollah International Financing Prevention Act of 2015 to block the terrorist organization’s financing and limit the group’s access to logistical support. In 2019, along with Bob Menendez, he co-introduced the Let Freedom Reign Act that provided military training and arsenal to the Venezuelan insurgency, helping them to defeat Maduro’s tyranny and leading to the restoration of democracy in Venezuela. In the context of China’s violation over Hong Kong’s freedom and sovereignty, Marco Rubio brought both parties together to pass the HKHRDA of 2019 that requires the Department of State to assess whether political developments in Hong Kong justify changing Hong Kong's unique treatment under US law. To condemn China's violation of the Uyghur's human rights, he led the way to pass the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act that established sanctions on foreign individuals responsible for human rights abuses in China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous region and requires certain reports on the topic. Both of these legislations were approved unanimously by legislators from both sides of the aisle. That’s why the Lugar Center ranked Marco Rubio as the 9th most bipartisan Senator. That is exactly the kind of leadership we need in our next President and that’s why Marco Rubio is the best choice to bring our country together and lead America forward. His opponent Tammy Duckworth is ranked as the 80th most bipartisan Senator. During her 7 years in the Senate, she has not reached across party lines to get accomplish anything significant, nor has she been willing to take on powerful interest groups in the Democratic Party to get something done, the very interest groups I’ve taken on here in Scranton. She voted 80 % of the time with her party leaders for higher taxes, strict regulations on energy production, stricter gun control and cuts in the military. That’s why the Lugar Center even ranked Elizabeth Warren as more bipartisan than Senator Duckworth (Warren is 66th and Duckworth 80th). That record is a big contrast with one of the last Democratic presidents, Bill Clinton, who stood up to some of those same Democratic interest groups, worked with Republicans, and got some important things done, like welfare reform, middle-class tax cuts, free trade agreements, and a balanced budget. Marco Rubio has the courage to put partisanship aside in order to get things done because he knows that is the way to make things better in America. That’s why he will bring both parties together to reduce middle-class taxes to 15 % and to index capital gains for inflation and create a tax-preferred savings vehicle so our economy can keep growing and make small businesses even more competitive. He will work with both parties to get this country to energy independence and he’ll do it by taking advantage of all of America’s sources of energy, by investing a part of the revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable energies instead of doing it through higher taxes and regulations on energy and by making us number one in nuclear energy production and export through the building of 40 new nuclear power plants in the U.S. by 2050 and through tax credits for advanced nuclear projects and subsidies for building new nuclear power plants. As President, Marco Rubio will get us to soaring development of our country’s infrastructures thanks to investments into it and to the promotion of public-private partnerships. On foreign policy, he will bring both parties together to normalize our relations with Sergei Polonsky’s Russia so we can ensure long-term global peace and work together for the maintenance and expansion of peace, freedom, human rights, stability and territorial integrity in the world, including in Europe and in Middle East. As President and Commander-in-Chief, Marco Rubio will bring both parties and our allies to accomplish our path to a nuclear free world by signing the Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty to prohibit the use of fissile material from being used for the construction of nuclear weapons or WMDs, thus ensuring peace through strength.

As Abraham Lincoln said, a house divided against itself cannot stand. So my fellow Americans, Democrats, Republicans and Independents, we need all of you to join us to come together to put America first just like we put Scranton first. We need Marco Rubio as our President to bring our country together, to face our challenges, to get things done and pursue America’s progress, strength and exceptionalism. Why? Because united we stand. Thank you. God bless you and God bless the United States of America.

Tammy Duckworth Debate Responses

2017 AFGE Legislative Conference - Monday by AFGE, on Flickr

Quote
Opening Statement:

“I stand before you as a product of the American Dream. I can trace my family back to the Revolution, and from them, I inherited a spirit of service and patriotism that has always inspired me to work to create a more perfect union. My father was a veteran, he served in World War II and Vietnam before working with the UN to help refugees. But, even after all of his work with others, when we returned to the US, my family needed help. If it weren’t for food stamps and reduced-price school breakfast and lunch, I’m not sure I would’ve had three meals a day in high school. If I had gone hungry, I wouldn’t have been able to graduate with honors, go on to get my degree, or be on this stage today.

That’s what our government is supposed to be about, providing a safety net for families like mine who fell on tough times. It’s meant to be there for people who just want a brighter future for their children. But, the GOP under the leadership of Donald Trump and Marco Rubio have been intent on cutting essential programs like these and refusing to expand childcare and healthcare coverage, making the American Dream more out of reach than ever.

As your President, I will work to protect the American Dream, I will expand healthcare rather than gut it, we will pass universal childcare and the reproductive bill of rights, and retake our position as a leader on the world stage.”

Quote
Quote
“I don’t think it’s possible to overstate the severity of the situation in North Korea and China. The UN, with United States leadership, needs to step in and step up to prevent war. Make no mistake, this administration has been all too comfortable ramping up incendiary rhetoric in order to seem ‘strong’ to dictators around the world, when all they’ve accomplished is putting our service members at risk and damaging our relationships around the world.

I believe a crucial first step to stabilize the region is requiring truly free and fair elections in North Korea with international election observers to hold the regime accountable. Marco Rubio will surely repeat his claim that North Korea’s election results are just a product of “election shyness,” but this is just coded language for accepting voter intimidation and outright suppression. In order to keep the peace, we must ensure that democracy is ruling in North Korea, rather than a dictatorial family who cares more about total control than the rights of the people. Tensions will cool if we can ensure that North Korea is a functional democracy.”

Quote
General 2:
Numerous lawsuits have already been filed in an attempt to reinstate Roe v. Wade since its striking down earlier this year. How would you approach these suits as President?
Quote
“I would make Congress do its job and pass my plan for the Reproductive Bill of Rights. It’s not enough just to reinstate Roe, but we have to prevent this sort of overreach from a GOP Court such as this one. It’s why my plan doesn’t just codify Roe, but it also protects birth control and classifies abortion as healthcare, rather than treating it as a political football. But, we can’t stop there, we also need to protect our norms, which is truly what these suits are about.

As your President, I will direct my Justice Department to join the suit to reinstate Roe and to respect established precedent. Our Attorney General will also fight against state laws that restrict individual rights, whether it’s reproductive, LGBTQ, or the rights of disabled people. The goal of our government has to be to protect the most people, not strip the rights of people who don’t support you politically.”

Quote
General 3:
Russian President Sergei Polonsky has called for the ZZJ to extradite former President Putin for trial in Russia. Do you believe this should be done, and, if not, what should be?

Quote
“Vladamir Putin should be extradited and put on trial in Russia. This is someone who gleefully led assaults on free and fair elections and stripped the Russian people of basic human rights. As President, I will work with our friends and allies to draft terms for extradition and have the United States participate as an observer to ensure justice is served. We can’t cede our leadership role here, and I believe working internationally is step one to rebuilding our reputation around the globe after eight years of chaos and policy by tweet.

The United States needs to take a leadership role and work with our allies to ensure justice is served. We can’t tolerate meddling in our elections, cyberwarfare, and a blatant disregard for international law, all of which Putin is guilty of. The world doesn’t need phony so-called ‘strongmen’ like Putin who Trump has been obsessed with impressing, we need leaders with compassion, empathy, and a strong sense of what’s right.”

Quote
Duckworth 1:
A recent poll suggested that safe and easy access to abortion is now a top priority for 23% of likely voters and that they break for you 87-9%. Do you believe this is proof the nation stands with you and against the Supreme Court ruling on this issue?
Quote
“What has happened is very simple, the Trump-packed Supreme Court went against norms and precedent to overturn a ruling that two-thirds of Americans supported. The American people have every right to be angry over this odious decision. In every campaign stop, I have at least one person come up to me to share a personal story regarding reproductive rights. People are scared. They’re terrified of going back to the days of unregulated, back-alley abortions. They’re angry that the wealthy will be able to travel to a different state in order to get a safe abortion when they will be forced to risk their lives just to have a choice that should be between them and their doctor.

My opponent here has tried to give non-answers on this, and I think it’s time we hold him accountable. Will the Vice President continue the Trump policy of stripping away reproductive rights one by one? Will he urge the Supreme Court to go after birth control? LGBTQ rights? The American people deserve to know the answer. I stand here with a promise that I will defend your rights, I will appoint judges that respect those rights and commit to defending them, and I will not allow powerful lobbies to buy influence because my values aren’t for sale.”

Quote
Duckworth 2:
Similar to the question we just asked the Vice President, how would you deal with the rising tensions between the Republic of Taiwan and the ZZJ?

Quote
“The unrest and chaos in the region is being exacerbated by the United States conceding any real leadership internationally under Donald Trump. We can and should have an active role in protecting peace around the world, and make sure we are not dragged into yet another forever war that further endangers Americans. We should be working with our allies to negotiate with both Taiwan and the ZZJ in order to forge a workable peace.

This situation calls for a Camp David summit. As a leader, I would call the leaders of both groups to the table so we can iron out a compromise between the three of us. This is the exact sort of personal approach to diplomacy that Donald Trump tried to sell to the American people, but the Trump-Rubio ‘Art of the Deal’ is just strongarming our allies, slapping tariffs on the American people in the name of better deals, and working harder to impress dictators than actually working with our allies to ensure peace and prosperity worldwide. Enough is enough. Under a Duckworth administration, diplomacy will be valued, the State Department will be fully funded, and we will work to deescalate tensions across the globe.”

Quote
Closing statement:

“The last two Republican Presidents sent us to war, and the last two Democratic Presidents expanded healthcare. We’ve learned nothing about Marco Rubio that says he’d do any different. But, I know what it’s like to go to war, and 20 years ago, my life was saved due to my buddies and world-class healthcare. I believe every single American deserves the quality of care I received after being shot down. It’s why I have a plan to expand the Affordable Care Act with a public option and restore it after Republican attempts to sabotage it for the sake of a political win. It’s why I’m committed to passing the Reproductive Bill of Rights because reproductive healthcare is in fact healthcare. And it’s why I will increase funding to the State Department, ending the budget cuts of the Trump administration which put our diplomats and service members at risk.

It’s time for us as a country to move past these past eight years and work towards a better future, one where no American has to go broke to pay for their healthcare, where one’s zip code doesn’t predetermine their ability to achieve the American Dream, where every American trusts their President to fight to defend their rights. Our country has always been able to achieve great things when we work together, from the New Deal to putting a man on the moon, to realizing the rights of Americans to be able to marry who they love regardless of gender. The next President will have the ability to bring our country into the next decade, working to pass the Equality Act, ensure all Americans have the right to healthcare and quality education and make the American Dream accessible to everyone. If you join me, together we can do all of this and more. Thank you!”

3.   Hello, Winston Salem, North Carolina! Today, I'm here to discuss the foreign policy of our great nation with you. The last 8 years have been a huge success when it comes to the international scene, as the US has rebuilt its military, rebuilt its strong alliances damaged by decades of ineffective policies, defeated ISIS, eliminated their leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and stabilized the Middle East, denuclearized North Korea and Iran, supported Kurdistan on its way to independence through our provision of weapons, arsenal, equipment and training to the Kurds in the context of Operation Ceasefire, leading the Kurds and our Middle Eastern allies to victory against Erdogan's Kurdistan without any single American trooper deployed or killed. Tammy Duckworth, however, wants none of that. She wants to cancel strong American foreign policy and replace it with her weak, twisted, liberal vision. No wonder that she opposed Operation Inherent Resolve that was aimed at defeating ISIS even though ISIS was controlling 70 % of Iraq's territory and used it as a base to launch attacks on us and our allies as they did in Paris, Brussels, Nice, Garland, San Bernardino, Philadelphia and Orlando. Even though the Kurds were crucial in defeating ISIS, she voted against authorizing aid to the Kurds by providing them arsenal, training and equipment, including fuel, combat vehicles, ammunition and body armors.

The current events in China show without a shadow of a doubt that we can not risk her coming on a horse and destroying our international relationships and strength. These events show that the next President must be ready to be Commander-in-Chief on Day One. We need a Commander-in-chief that actually is a Commander-in-chief, and Marco Rubio has the right experience, the right ammount of strength and the right beliefs to protect America from foreign enemies attacking its shores. Similarly, I proudly served our country as an Apache pilot in the U.S. Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom, risking my life fighting the very radical Islamic terrorists responsible of the 9/11 attacks and keeping us safe from this evil. Marco Rubio served as a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, as Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and as Vice-President of the United States. In the Senate, he passed the Hezbollah International Financing Prevention Act of 2015 to block the terrorist organization’s financing and limit the group’s access to logistical support through sanctions on international financial institutions that knowingly engage in business with Hezbollah and its enablers and through the identification of the organization’s satellite and internet providers that facilitate its messages to the al-Manar Hezbollah television station, the Terror Intelligence Improvement Act, the Let Freedom Reign Act of 2019 that led Venezuela to democracy through provision of weapons and training to the Venezuelan insurgency in the Venezuelan Civil War. To condemn China's human rights violations, he sponsored Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act requiring the Department of State to assess whether political developments in Hong Kong justify changing Hong Kong's unique treatment under US law as well as the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act that established sanctions on foreign individuals responsible for human rights abuses in China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous region and requires certain reports on the topic. As Vice-President, he helped President Trump to defeat ISIS and he led the 2021 diplomatic mission that got Arsham Parsi's Iran to denuclearize and to stop state-sponsoring terrorism, which is what Parsi officially officially announced in a Joint Session of Congress presided by Marco Rubio and the Speaker of the House in the aftermath of that visit.

Our agenda is necessary to maintain America's status as the leader of the free world and prevent destabilization in key areas of the planet. We will provide support to the Army for Freedom in China in non-military supplies like food, clothing, fuel, etc. in order to make sure they will have the means to subsist and persist in their fight against the Chinese Communist regime, which will lead them to victory and to lead China to democracy, freedom, justice and integrity; provide military training and arsenal to our allies in West Africa to help them defeat Boko Haram and destroy Boko Haram key targets through drone air strikes, which will reduce the need to put more troops in harm's way; normalize relations with Polonsky’s Russia to restore stability, peace and territorial integrity in Europe and the Middle East and ensure the respect and expansion of human rights and freedom; and ratify the Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty to prohibit the use of fissile material to build WMDs and nuclear weapons, which will complete our path to a nuclear-free world and preventing any nuclear war. A vote for Marco Rubio is a vote to ensure that our children will earn the opportunity to grow up in a world of long-term peace, freedom and security.

Rally with voters in Wilkes-Barre, PA for a speech given by Tom Ridge :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Ridge#/media/File:Tom_Ridge.jpg
There is no better candidate to defend Pennsylvania values than Marco Rubio. Thanks to the tax-cut policies of the last few years, Pennsylvania’s economy is better off now than it was 8 years ago. Thanks to those policies, 823,380 Pennsylvania households are benefiting from the TCJA’s doubling of the child tax credit. Every income group in every Pennsylvania congressional district received a tax cut. A median income family of four received a $2,000 annual tax cut and a single parent with one child received a $1,300 annual tax cut. Nine out of ten households, more precisely 4,415,920 Pennsylvania households, take the standard deduction which provides tax relief and simplifies the tax filing process. Similarly, 153,140 Pennsylvania households are benefiting from the TCJA’s elimination of the Obamacare individual mandate tax. Pennsylvania residents are saving money on utility bills. Lower electric, water, and gas bills help households and small businesses operating on tight margins. Pennsylvania utilities that have passed along tax savings include, notably, Citizens’ Electric Company of Lewisburg, National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation, PECO Energy Company, Pennsylvania Electric Company, and more. Those are policies that made it clear that Pennsylvania, that is home to 49 Fortune 500 companies, is a place open for business. As a result, Hudson Facades in Linwood, Pennsylvania, increased wages and gave $3,000 in every factory worker’s 401(k); Frontier Railroad Services in Fallowfield Township, Pennsylvania, is building an office building in an Opportunity Zone; Ellwood Group in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, is expanding its facility; Guy Chemical Company increased bonuses, increased wages, and investments in new equipment; BrightFarms built a greenhouse growing food in water. But make no mistake, Tammy Duckworth’s big government policies raising taxes by trillions of dollars, punishing success, crushing the middle-class, making America a harder place to do business, making us more dependent on foreign energy, will move this economy backwards, cost your jobs, your home and your wages, ship jobs and businesses overseas and make the American Dream more difficult to accomplish. No wonder that Obama’s failed tax-hike economic policies contributed to a downgrade of America’s credit rating for the first time in our history 13 years ago, gave us the slowest economy in history and killed 300,000 manufacturing jobs, including 45,000 here in Pennsylvania. Let me remind the Senator that the reason why Pennsylvania’s economy prospered and the state’s unemployment declined so dramatically from 6 % to 4.1 % during my time as Governor of Pennsylvania is because we reduced taxes by $2.6 billion, encouraging free enterprise, job creation, higher wages and investment here; cut the state income tax on lower-income families, which resulted that no family of four with income under $25,000 had to carry the burden of a state income tax; increased the Rainy Day fund from $30 million to $700 million; and signed into law Keystone Opportunity Zones that reduced or eliminated tax burden for property owners, residents and businesses throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, re-establishing and creating industrial and commercial centers and newly zoned industrial parks throughout the state. Similarly, Opportunity Zones created by the tax reform policies of this administration, policies opposed by Senator Duckworth, helped low-income communities offered tax incentives for businesses to invest in economically distressed communities, making them a powerful vehicle for economic growth and job creation, jumpstart our American communities, create momentum for economic recovery, and attract investment to diverse areas across our nation. Marco Rubio is the only one candidate in this race who can keep this economy growing and make it work for all Americans. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, he fought to pass legislation reducing taxes on small businesses that create 7 out of 10 jobs in America. His running mate Senator John James ran supply chain businesses that created jobs  by managing and optimizing the company's customer’s supply chain infrastructures and processes through designing and implementing complex supply chain solutions and leveraging information technology. As President, Marco Rubio will ensure long-term and unprecedented economic prosperity for all Americans by keeping taxes low, preserving and strengthening America’s status as the best business-friendly environment in the world, reducing middle-class taxes from 22 % to 15 % while indexing capital gains for inflation and creating a tax-preferred savings vehicle for the sake of a stronger American middle-class, getting us to energy independence through taking advantage of our oil, gas, coal, nuclear, wind, solar, geothermal, tide, hydroelectric energies, invest a part of oil drilling revenues into the development of renewable energies instead of doing so by taking away taxpayers' money like Senator Duckworth is suggesting, by promoting free trade with our allies to make our country the most competitive nation in the world economy and to make certain that American businesses will be able to make direct investments into foreign economies to produce goods at a lower cost in these environments. He will make infrastructure development a top priority by investing into it as well as by reducing the federal gasoline tax rate by 80 %; vetoing any gas-tax increase; turning back control of the highways to the states; stopping special interests in Washington from building “Bridges to Nowhere” and engaging in other wasteful spending; freeing states from the strings that come attached to federal funding; removing barriers to public-private partnerships; repealing the Davis-Bacon Act that inflates government costs by billions every year and is a giveaway of taxpayer dollars to labor unions and phasing out the Mass Transit Account, which loots the Highway Trust Fund. That way, thanks to new infrastructures, we will facilitate economic activities and encourage the implementation of new businesses here in America as well as further job creation.

I proudly served our country as a Staff Sergeant with Bravo Company in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. In May 1970, a ruptured appendix cut short my tour of duty in Vietnam and I was sent home; it also aggravated a childhood ear infection which caused me afterwards to have a hearing aid in my left ear. Eight years ago, our brave veterans have been left behind for too long. But there is no candidate with a better record of taking care of our veterans than Marco Rubio. He values the courage and patriotism of our soldiers. In the Senate, he cosponsored the AGREE Act, a bill that increased tax credits and exemptions for companies investing in R & D, equipment and other capital, gave tax credits for veterans opening a business franchise. He passed the 2014 VA reform law by introducing a measure empowering the VA secretary to hold managers accountable for incompetence, negligence and corruption and to care more about veterans than bureaucrats. In 2019, he co-sponsored the Supporting Veterans in STEM Careers Act that helped veterans re-entering the workforce get jobs in STEM-related fields by requiring the Office of Science and Technology Policy to coordinate programs to train and transition military veterans for jobs in science, technology, engineering and math. He passed the MilCon-VA bill providing meaningful funding for veterans programs and military construction projects across Florida. Senator James, who bravely served our country as an Apache pilot in the U.S. Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom, co-sponsored and passed the Veterans Care Financial Protection Act of 2022 has been adopted after the withdrawal of our troops from Syria and Iraq in 2021, making the federal Department of Veterans Affairs work with state and federal agencies to stop con men who are diverting federal aid away from veterans. will invest a part of budget surpluses in the development of new social security and job training programs for our veterans to make sure they will earn the best post-military service they can ever imagine. As President, he will reduce the income tax on military retirement income, which will reinforce incomes for our veterans; enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act so that returning veterans can promptly return to their former jobs; and invest in the development of new social security and job training programs for our veterans to make sure they will earn the best post-military service they can ever imagine.

After America suffered the deadliest attack on its national soil on September 11th 2001, including Flight 93’s crash in Stonycreek, PA, I’ve been named as the first director of the newly created Office of Homeland Security before becoming the first Secretary of Homeland Security. Under my tenure, we kept America safe by working with the employees from combined agencies to strengthen borders, provide for intelligence analysis and infrastructure protection, improve the use of science and technology to counter weapons of mass destruction, and to create a comprehensive response and recovery division. Meanwhile, our troops and our allies went after Al Qaeda and eliminated Osama Bin Laden, the perpetrator of 9/11 attacks. That has been made possible because of a strong military until the Obama Administration’s weak national defense policies supported by Senator Duckworth that imposed deep cuts in the military made America and our allies easier targets for terrorism as we saw in Paris, Brussels, Nice as well as in Garland, San Bernardino, Orlando and even here in Pennsylvania where police officer Jesse Hartnett has been shot by an ISIS jihadist named Edward Archer in Philadelphia but neutralized this terrorist and arrested him. Senator Duckworth ignored the serious threat represented by ISIS that President Obama called a J.V. Team. Even when ISIS controlled a large part of Iraq and Syria and used that territory as a base to launch attacks on us and our allies, she opposed Operation Inherent Resolve that was aimed at defeating ISIS, flip-flopping from her NAY vote on a bill prohibiting combat operations in Iraq, opposed the F-14, the F-15 and the Ch 53 Sea Stallion, trying to outsource our national security. Even though the Kurds were crucial allies in our fight against ISIS, Senator Duckworth voted against authorizing weaponry and equipment supply to the Kurds. But in the last 8 years, America made strong progress in keeping us safe against our enemies. Because we rebuilt our military and alliances, went after terrorists wherever they are, we defeated ISIS in Iraq and Syria, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead, and we deprived global terrorism of supply from Iran’s past state-sponsored terrorism thanks to a normalization of our relations with Arsham Parsi’s Iran. Marco Rubio has the best foreign policy experience to keep us safe, no wonder that in the Senate he passed a bill toughening sanctions on Hezbollah to prevent  Hezbollah  and  associated  entities  from  gaining  access  to  international  financial  and  other  institutions,  and for other purposes. He also sponsored the Strengthening America's Security in the Middle East Act of 2019 (that authorized assistance and weapons transfers to Israel and extended defense cooperation with Jordan) and the U.S.-Jordan Defense Cooperation Act to provide assistance to our Jordanian allies in the battle against ISIS and in dealing with the Syrian refugee crisis. As Vice-President, he helped this President to defeat ISIS and he led the diplomatic mission that got Parsi’s Iran to officially denuclearize and stop state-sponsoring global terrorism. As Commander-in-Chief, he will get us to final victory against terrorism by modernizing our military; strengthening and expanding our alliances; reinforcing intelligence services and intelligence partnerships with our allies; tracking down terrorists wherever they train and hide; providing our Western African allies in military training and arsenal to ensure their full readiness and preparedness to handle their own security and to help them to defeat Boko Haram; and destroying Boko Haram key targets such as their infrastructure and their controlled oil refineries through drone strikes (which will deprive these terrorists of any revenues from oil exploitation to finance their terrorist activities and plans and any war effort), which will defeat these terrorists without needing to send additional ground troops.

My fellow Americans, the stakes of this election are too high for you to stay home. We need all of you to go to the polls and cast your vote for Marco Rubio and John James, who represent our chance to get America to long-term economic prosperity for all Americans, full-employment, energy independence, permanent protection of the freedoms offered by America and long-term global peace and security. With your help and your support, we will move America forward and that requires electing Marco Rubio and John James as our President and Vice-President and expanding our majorities in both houses of Congress to ensure and protect America’s success, freedom, prosperity, strength, security and greatness. Thank you. God bless you. God bless Pennsylvania and God bless the United States of America.

The renegotiation of NAFTA and the adoption of the USMCA is a clear win for America, including Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania’s electrical equipment exports as well as their chemicals exports to Canada and Mexico have increased by more than 60 percent over the last decade. Canada and Mexico are the largest trade partners of that state as $15 billion of manufactured goods are exported to these 2 countries. Without such a trade deal, Pennsylvania’s manufactured goods exports to Canada and Mexico could have faced a minimum of $244 million to $1.7 billion in extra taxes (compared to zero tariffs today). As a result, many of Pennsylvania’s manufacturers and the workers and communities they support would have lost sales as competitors from Europe and Asia continue to enjoy zero tariffs. The result would be less manufacturing production and fewer well-paying American jobs in Pennsylvania and throughout the United States. But because we passed the USMCA, which me and America's next Vice-President John James and Senator Pat Toomey voted for in the Senate, we supported 43 000 Pennsylvania manufacturing jobs that depend on manufacturing exports to Canada and Mexico. These are export-dependent jobs are usually full time, pay higher-than-average wages and offer real career opportunities to middle-class workers. Pennsylvania manufacturing workers make on average $72,151 in total annual compensation compared to $49,059 for workers across all private nonfarm industries. Small and medium-sized businesses in America, including here in Pennsylvania, are among the biggest winners : Pennsylvania’s small- and medium-sized businesses comprise 71 % of the state’s exporters of chemicals to Canada and Mexico, and 75 % of the state’s exporters of electrical equipment to Canada and Mexico. One out of four Pennsylvania manufacturing firms  export to Canada and Mexico and 80 % of those 3072 manufacturing firms are small- and medium-sized businesses supporting local economies. More sales equal more well-paying jobs and a stronger economy across the state. Thanks to the USMCA, we boosted auto manufacturing by requiring 75% of a vehicle's parts to be made in one of the 3 signatory countries in order to remain free from tariffs when moving between the U.S., Canada and Mexico, by strengthening labor laws (which helps level the playing field for American workers and improve wages and labor conditions in North America), by keeping tariffs at zero while further opening up the Canadian market to US dairy, poultry, turkey and eggs and allowing more Canadian dairy, peanuts and peanut products to cross the border, reinforcing Pennsylvania’s status as a leader in agriculture as it ranks 19th overall in agricultural production, but first in mushrooms, third in Christmas trees and laying chickens, fourth in nursery and sod, milk, corn for silage, and horse production. As a result, we added 76 000 auto jobs in the last 5 years, increased exports and imports and strengthened our competitiveness in the world economy, contributing to the strong economic prosperity America is now living through the creation of 7 million jobs, including 500 000 in the manufacturing sector, and brought our unemployment rate in the lowest rate in 50 years. Similarly, the new customs and trade rules included in the USMCA customs and trade rules cut red tape and made it easier for small businesses to tap into foreign markets and participate in cross-border trade. The modernized, high-standard Intellectual Property (IP) chapter of that deal provided strong and effective protection and enforcement of IP rights that are critical to driving innovation, creating economic growth, and supporting American jobs. The new Digital Trade chapter contains the strongest disciplines on digital trade of any international agreement, providing a firm foundation for the expansion of trade and investment in the innovative products and services. As President, I will champion free trade for the sake of our competitiveness in the world economy and our prosperity. We're going to ratify free trade deals with our allies in the Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Europe, thus counter-balancing China's trade power and ensuring strong job creation by lowering tariffs, increasing exports and imports, reducing the cost of trading, allowing American businesses to make direct investments into foreign economies to produce goods at a lower cost in these environments. The reason why we were losing jobs because of the deals under the Obama administration is that we had the highest corporate tax rate in the industrialized world (40 % and has, fortunately, been reduced to 21 % under Trump) while Singapore had the lowest (17 %) which is why they are prospering and have one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world. That's why we'll reduce our corporate tax rate to 15 % to make America the best place in the world to do business taxes for all businesses across the country, including manufacturing businesses, in order to make it easy for them to do business in America. That way, we will protect the interests of the our manufacturing workers while promoting free trade at the same time. The reason of Mexico's advantage over us in terms of auto manufacturing was because Mexico had free trade agreements with 45 countries while the U.S. had free trade deals with only 20 countries. So if we expand free trade with our allies, friends and partners across the globe, we will reinforce auto manufacturing and make America number one again in auto production. If you want leaders who know how to get us to such a competitive, dynamic and soaring economy for the sake of permanent prosperity, I ask you to join our campaign to grant opportunity for all.

https://www.rubio.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/miami-office-opening
Our manufacturing industry is a major pillar of our economy. Manufacturers in Wisconsin account for 18.79% of the total output in the state, employing 15.99% of the workforce. Wisconsin produces about 5 percent of U.S. specialty crops, such as tobacco and ginseng, and processes vegetables including horseradish, cabbage (for sauerkraut), and sweet peas. Wisconsin’s southeastern industrial belt—extending from the state line along Lake Michigan from Kenosha up to and beyond Milwaukee, the state’s largest city—is the primary factor in making Wisconsin one of the largest manufacturing states in the country. In the southern two-thirds of the state, a combination of favourable climate, soil, and topography makes possible dairy agriculture that allows Wisconsin to be the top producer of cheese in the country and one of the top producers of milk and butter.

The Democrats keep claiming that they are the champions of American manufacturing workers. But their policies have been proven throughout history to be devastating for our manufacturing industry. In Bill Clinton’s final 3 years in office, more than 430,000 manufacturing jobs were lost. During the 8 years of the Obama administration, America lost 300 000 manufacturing jobs, including 45 000 in Pennsylvania, 18 000 here in the state of Wisconsin, 38 000 in Michigan, 37 000 in Ohio. Those declines are caused by higher taxes and regulations and an increase of the size of government, which are policies supported by both Tammy Duckworth and that shipped manufacturing jobs overseas throughout the years by punishing businesses. We can’t afford to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Fortunately, in the last 8 years, we championed policies that promote U.S. businesses and  free enterprise by passing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the largest tax reform policy in American history and by repealing the Death Tax and the of the Marriage Penalty Tax, giving us the strongest economy in modern history through the lowest unemployment rate since 1970 and the creation of 7 million new jobs. Those policies helped create 500 000 new manufacturing jobs, including more than 25 000 here in Ohio, 13 000 in Pennsylvania, 18 000 in Michigan, 11 000 here in Wisconsin, thus drastically reinforcing our manufacturing industry. And the renegotiation of NAFTA as well as the ratification of the USMCA further boosted our manufacturing industry through an increase of auto manufacturing by calling for 75% of a vehicle's parts to be produced in one of the 3 signatory countries in order to remain free from tariffs when moving between the U.S., Canada and Mexico, through stronger labor laws and by keeping tariffs at zero while further opening up the Canadian market to US dairy, poultry and eggs and allowing more Canadian dairy, peanuts and peanut products to cross the border. This deal resulted to the creation of 76 000 auto jobs, increased exports and imports and strengthened our competitiveness in the world economy.
The tax cuts and free enterprise policies that we passed in the last 8 years and opposed by my opponent helped build a stronger economy for Wisconsin’s workers and businesses : the Badger State now has its lowest unemployment rate in 25 years, which is 3.3 %, had its strongest economic growth since 2004 and we added more than 131,000 jobs in the state's economy, including 12,000 construction jobs. And four years ago, our administration awarded Fincantieri Marinette Marine with a $5.5 billion contract to construct up to ten U.S. Navy ships, which helped create 10,000 jobs and also to maintain and expand our country's military strength and American leadership. That is part of the reasons why we managed to defeat ISIS in the Middle East, stood up to Vladimir Putin's Russia and to China's attempts to invade the contested territories of the South China Sea, thus keeping America safe and strong. And 82% of Wisconsin’s manufactured goods are shipped by truck alone. So ensuring solid and effective support for the state's manufacturing industry requires an ambitious infrastructure plan to develop new roads that will facilitate economic activity. That's exactly the kind of plan that we are proposing and that I will put forward as President of the United States. Our infrastructure plan will provide massive infrastructure development here in America through a reduction of the federal gasoline tax rate by 80 %; through a veto on any gas-tax increase; turning back control of the highways to the states; stopping special interests in Washington from building “Bridges to Nowhere” and engaging in other wasteful spending; a liberation of the states from the strings that come attached to federal funding; a removal barriers to public-private partnerships in order to fund infrastructure projects; a repeal of the Davis-Bacon Act that inflates government costs by billions every year and is a giveaway of taxpayer dollars to labor unions and phasing out the Mass Transit Account, which loots the Highway Trust Fund. That infrastructure plan along with the investment of a part of future budget surpluses in infrastructures will encourage economic activities all across this country, including here in Wisconsin, favor the implementation of new businesses here in America thus favoring further job creation, growth, opportunity and prosperity. So Wisconsin, we need your help and your support tomorrow to make sure that we keep moving America forward, that American Dream is an American Reality and that we preserve America’s greatness and status as the land of opportunity where everything is possible. Thank you. God bless you and God bless America!

-Rally with voters at Atwood Center in Flint, MI where VP Rubio gives a speech reminding voters that America’s auto industry is now thriving again as since President Trump’s coming to office, auto companies like Ford, Fiat, Chrysler and General Motors invested billions and billions of dollars in the United States and created tens of thousands of new American jobs, including 700 new jobs coming back to the Ford plant in Flat Rock, Michigan; 2,000 new jobs created by Fiat-Chrysler in Michigan and Ohio; and 900 jobs created by General Motors in Michigan. He also reminded voters that thanks to the ratification of the USMCA helped create 76,000 auto jobs in the last 5 years, boosting auto manufacturing by requiring 75% of a vehicle's parts to be made in one of the 3 signatory countries in order to remain free from tariffs when moving between the U.S., Canada and Mexico. He also reiterated that his running mate John James contributed to the rebuilding of America’s auto industry by evolving his family business named James Group International into a major trading partner with Michigan’s auto industry. Reminding voters that the reason of Mexico's advantage over the U.S. in terms of auto manufacturing was because Mexico had free trade agreements with 45 countries while the U.S. had free trade deals with only 20 countries, he called for an expansion of free trade deals and partnerships with America’s friends and allies in Europe, Latin America and Asia, which will not only make America the most competitive nation in the world economy but also further reinforce auto manufacturing and make America number one again in auto production. He takes on the occasion to call on the American people to cast their votes for him in order to move America forward through a stronger auto industry and creative policies that will get America to long-term economic prosperity and full-employment.
