Own creation
Thank you, Pittsburgh! Thank you Pennsylvania!

You know, it is emotional for me to be back here in the Keystone State where I studied at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and the state that put me over the top in the 2016 election for a big win, which led America to where we are today and helped us making America great again.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

And now this is the state where for the first time in that campaign I am stumping for a great American, my friend and the next President of the United States Marco Rubio.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

Now, the Democrats, including Barack Obama, have recently claimed that they are going to orchestrate a landslide win. Well, we’re going to prove them wrong, because let me tell you this : it’s not 2008 anymore.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

Unlike 2008, a time in which our country was facing its worst financial crisis since the Great Depression and was fighting 2 wars, this year in 2024 we are now knowing America’s strongest economic growth in modern history thanks to the promotion of tax reform, free enterprise and small government and we defeated ISIS and made strong progress in restoring stability and peace in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.

Recently, my predecessor as well as Tammy Duckworth have claimed that our country’s economy is weakened.

[Crowd boos]

They couldn’t be more disconnected from reality than this. Obama’s big government policies that raised taxes, made us more dependent on foreign energy and shipped jobs overseas, has gave our country the slowest economic recovery in history and the more it was slowing the more it was heading towards a recession. And by the way, our political opponents keep claiming that they are the champions of American manufacturing workers. But their job-killing tax-hike policies have been proven throughout history to be devastating for our manufacturing industry. In Bill Clinton’s final 3 years in office, more than 430,000 manufacturing jobs were lost. During the 8 years of the Obama administration, America lost 300 000 manufacturing jobs, including 45 000 here in Pennsylvania and 37 000 in the neighboring state of Ohio. But everything has changed when I’ve been elected to the presidency : we passed the largest tax cuts in the history of America, which has been made possible thanks to Marco Rubio’s efforts to double the Child Tax Credit from $1000 to $2000, and as a result the economy is booming. Because we lowered the size of government, cut taxes and made America the best place in the world to do business, we helped create seven and a half million new jobs and brought our unemployment rate at its lowest rate in more than 50 years.

[Crowd cheers, applauds and chants USA! USA! USA!]

We made strong progress to lead America to energy independence by abolishing the Democrats’ War on Coal and promoting the development of clean coal technologies, by approving the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline and the Dakota Access pipeline (facilitating oil production and transportation), doubling permits on public lands.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

Thanks to the successful renegotiation of NAFTA and to the ratification of the USMCA, we boosted auto manufacturing by requiring 75% of a vehicle's parts to be made in one of the 3 signatory countries in order to remain free from tariffs, by strengthening labor laws, by keeping tariffs at zero while further opening up the Canadian market to US dairy, poultry and eggs and allowing more Canadian dairy, peanuts and peanut products to cross the border. We added 76 000 auto jobs in the last 5 years, increased exports and imports and strengthened our competitiveness in the world economy and helped adding 500 000 in the manufacturing sector, including 13 000 here in the great state of Pennsylvania, 25 000 in Ohio, 18 000 in Michigan and 11 000 in Wisconsin.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

Pennsylvania is a state open for business. This state is home to 50 Fortune 500 companies such as  U.S. Steel, PPG Industries, H.J. Heinz, GE Transportation Systems (all of them headquartered here in Pittsburgh) and Hershey Company. Pennsylvania’s pro-business environment is a great example of the fact that the right solution to our economic challenges and to get the economy growing is to make America the best place in the world to do business. But that is not Tammy Duckworth’s agenda. No wonder that she voted against the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and she wants to increase taxes, raise the size of government, impose regulations that will make our country more dependent on foreign energy, which will make this country a harder place to do business, ship jobs overseas and move this country backwards.

[Crowd boos]

But on the other hand, there is no more qualified presidential candidate to handle our country’s economic challenges than Marco Rubio, believe me. In the Senate, he cosponsored the AGREE Act that increased tax credits and exemptions for companies investing in R & D, equipment and other capital and gave tax credits for veterans opening a business franchise. He cosponsored the Regulation Costs to Small Businesses Act, which required the Small Business Administration to conduct an annual study to estimate the total cost of regulations on small businesses. And like I said earlier, he helped pass the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act by leading the effort to double the Child Tax Credit, thus giving us strong economic growth and leading us to the prosperity our country is now living. And he chaired the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, fighting to protect the interests of small businesses and hardworking Americans by passing legislation and action making America the best business-friendly environment in the world. He knows what it takes to get and keep small businesses working to hire people and what it takes to encourage job creation and grow the economy. And that’s what he will do as President by lowering taxes so our economy can grow, adopting a middle-class tax cut, reducing spending to bring our deficit under control. His energy plan will make America energy independence by taking advantage of oil, gas, coal, nuclear, wind, solar and hydroelectricity and by promoting the construction of a pipeline from Alaska to Texas through Canada. Under a Rubio Administration, a part of the revenues from oil drilling will be invested into the development of renewable energies, so we can favor both economic growth and a clean environment. Marco Rubio will make us number one in nuclear energy production and exportation through the construction of 40 new nuclear power plants in this country by 2050 in order to reach to a total number of 100 nuclear power plants on the U.S. soil by the end of the first half of this century with the ultimate goal of building 100 new nuclear power plants, which will be done through tax credits for advanced nuclear projects and subsidies for building new nuclear power plants. On infrastructure, he will reduce the federal gasoline tax rate by 80 %; veto any gas-tax increase; turn back control of the highways to the states; stop special interests in Washington from building “Bridges to Nowhere” and engaging in other wasteful spending; free states from the strings that come attached to federal funding; remove barriers to public-private partnerships; repeal the Davis-Bacon Act that inflates government costs by billions every year and is a giveaway of taxpayer dollars to labor unions and phasing out the Mass Transit Account, which loots the Highway Trust Fund. We will use a part of future budget surpluses into the development of infrastructures, which will favor the implementation of new businesses in America, thus favoring further job creation and prosperity. His economic agenda will keep America great.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

For too long, our brave men and women in uniform have been neglected and left behind and on their own because of the corruption of bureaucrats in Washington. From World War II to the War on Terror, through the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Gulf War, our veterans, including myself, sacrificed and risked their lives for the defense of our freedom, democracy and security. They deserve better than the fate that those corrupt managers left them. But under Tammy Duckworth’s watch as Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, many of our courageous military veterans were abused. A whistleblower had the courage to tell the truth and confirmed that an unchecked criminal was allowed to care for a veteran. A few whistleblowers came forward to tell the truth that an unchecked criminal was allowed to care for a veteran. But when whistleblowers came forward, Duckworth threatened and fired them, covering up the abuse. Among those whistleblowers, one of them named Denise Goins has been told by Duckworth, quote, « keep your mouth shut and you won’t be fired ».

[Crowd boos]

And because of these abuses, six veterans died trying to gain admission to the Anna Veterans Home. That’s why Duckworth has been called to court. But our Vice-President, our nominee and our next President Marco Rubio understands the concerns and needs of our veterans. His brother Mario, who served in Vietnam, represents a model to him in life, a model of courage, service and honor. Marco has a clear and decent record when it comes to taking care of our veterans. He sponsored the 2014 VA reform law by introducing a measure empowering the VA secretary to hold managers accountable for incompetence, negligence and corruption and to care more about veterans than bureaucrats. He co-sponsored the Supporting Veterans in STEM Careers Act that helped veterans re-entering the workforce get jobs in STEM-related fields by requiring the Office of Science and Technology Policy to coordinate programs to train and transition military veterans for jobs in science, technology, engineering and math. Under our administration, the Veterans Care Financial Protection Act of 2022 has been adopted after the withdrawal of our troops from Syria and Iraq in 2021, making the federal Department of Veterans Affairs work with state and federal agencies to stop con men who are diverting federal aid away from veterans. As President, Marco Rubio will invest a part of budget surpluses in the development of new social security and job training programs for our veterans to make sure they will earn the best post-military service they can ever imagine. That is the way to honor their patriotic and courageous service to our country.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

Because of the previous administration’s deep cuts in the military and its choice of peace through vulnerability instead of peace through strength, ISIS surged in the Middle East, we suffered 3 terrorist attacks (one in Garland, TX, in San Bernardino, CA, and Orlando, FL) and our allies suffered major attacks by ISIS in Paris, Brussels and Nice. Because of Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran, that Tammy Duckworth supported in the House of Representatives, the world was closer to a nuclear Iran and hundreds of billions of dollars fell in the hands of a country that was, at that time, the world’s largest sponsor of terrorism. But fortunately, when I came to power, we changed that tendency by restoring American leadership. We increased defense budget and modernized our military, thus giving our troops all the necessary tools to stop terror and keep this country safe. We stood up with our allies and stayed on offense against terrorism at home and abroad. As a result, we defeated ISIS in the Middle East and eliminated its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

[Crowd cheers, applauds and chants USA! USA! USA!]

We abolished the Iran nuclear deal to deprive global terror of war effort from Iran’s past state-sponsored terrorism. And now, with the election of a pro-American president like Arsham Parsi in Iran in 2021, the world witnessed the denuclearization of Iran. And in that context, Marco Rubio became the first Vice-President in office to visit Iran since the Iranian Revolution and he and Arsham Parsi discussed issues in which they managed to reach agreements thanks to Parsi’s friendliness to our country. It was in the aftermath of that visit, a few weeks later, that Parsi announced, during a Joint Session of Congress that Iran going to proceed towards their denuclearization, to stop sponsoring global terrorism and that our relations with Tehran were going to be normalized. And that’s exactly what happened, getting us to stronger nuclear security, stronger stability in the Middle East and to stronger global peace. And under our administration, we also got the world to the denuclearization of North Korea, thus bringing the world closer to global peace and eliminating any risk of nuclear war. And our borders are now secured. Thanks to such strong and steady leadership, our country is now safer than ever before.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

After more than 20 years of oppression, arms race against us, veto power against us and our allies in the UN, murder (referring to Russian opposition activists sentenced to death and to the poisoning of Sergei Skripal in 2018) and invasion of other countries (referring to the 2008 Russian invasion of Georgia, to the invasion of Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea in 2014, to the coup d’état prepared by Russian agents in Montenegro on the day of the 2016 Montenegrin parliamentary election and to the Russian violation of Japanese sovereignty on the Kuril Islands in 2021) by Vladimir Putin, the Russian people has chosen change by electing Sergei Polonsky in the recent Russian presidential election, which are good news for freedom, integrity, democracy, justice and prosperity and reinforce global peace. It also means the imminence of the restoration of stability and territorial integrity  in Eastern Europe and in the Middle East.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

Despite this great potential, Tammy Duckworth and her Democratic colleagues in both houses of Congress spent the entire last winter (more precisely January-February 2024) launching an impeachment inquiry against me because of Polonsky’s political leaning.

[Crowd boos]

Their attitude proves that they are more worried about partisan politics than about an adversary’s use of power against our country and our people.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

Unlike Tammy Duckworth’s weak foreign policy agenda that will impose deep cuts in the military and make America an easier target for terrorists, Marco Rubio will keep our country safe by keeping our military strong and modernizing it. He will keep our country on offense on terror, provide our Western African allies in military training and arsenal in order to defeat Boko Haram. As President and Commander-in-Chief, he will, in order to accomplish our planet’s path to a peaceful and nuclear-free world, work with our allies to ratify the proposed Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty to prohibit the use of fissile material for the building of nuclear weapons. In a time of restoration of freedom, democracy and integrity in Russia through the election of a pro-American President, Marco Rubio hold a summit to normalize our relations with Moscow in the first 100 days of his presidency. He and Polonsky will work to dismantle dangerous Russian nuclear weapons that are representing a threat to global peace. They will be strong partners for the maintenance of peace and human rights around the world. And thanks to such a change in Russia's leadership, Erdogan's Turkey will be deprived of a major partner in terms of trade and military support in the context of Operation Ceasefire, thus helping our local allies to defeat Turkish forces and leading to the recognition of Kurdistan’s independence.

As a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and as Vice-President, Marco has the best foreign policy experience to keep us safe and ensure long-term global peace through a strong military and American leadership. We can trust him and we will be safe in his hands, our children will be safe in his hands and our country will be safe in the hands of Marco Rubio. No doubt.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

He also has a great project to strengthen America’s status as the leader in space exploration. As President of the United States, he will make the establishment of Lunar Gateway his top priority in terms of space exploration, which will give us a springboard to a crewed mission to Mars and guarantee that the accomplishment of our objective to send astronauts to Mars by 2030 will be fulfilled and that the United States will be the first country to make that accomplishment that will make history.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

That's why we need all of you to mobilize, fight for your future and together we will keep Pennsylvania and win across this country by expanding our majorities in Congress and electing a talented and great leader like Marco Rubio. Thanks to his experience and agenda, he will get America to full-employment, permanent economic prosperity, get us to long-term global peace and national security, protect the Constitution and expand America's greatness and status as the land of opportunity.

Thank you! God bless you! God bless Pennsylvania! God bless Marco Rubio! God bless America!

Tammy Duckworth Campaign Schedule

Source

April 14-17th: Wisconsin

- Rally in Milwaukee, respond to Rubio attacks

"Well, it didn't take Cadet Bone Spurs and his VP long to start the mudslinging, did it? Do you know how to tell you've got the momentum and popular support behind you? It's when your opponent drudges up long dismissed accusations that have been thoroughly investigated and disproven. Much like in 2016 in my first Senate race, I won't join my opponent in the gutter and respond to attacks on my service to this country and to fellow veterans.

This race isn't about me, and I'm not in it to smear political opponents. I'm in this race for all of you, to fight for your families and to keep America safe with steady leadership during turbulent times. Tammy Duckworth Runs Ad "Leadership in AZ, NV, CO, MN, MI, IA, TX, VA, WI, OH, NC, FL, and GA

"I've always been proud to serve my country, whether it was in the Army, as Director of Veterans Affairs, or in Congress."

"Right now, we have a President that seems like he's more interested in Twitter fights than fighting for American families."

Screen overlays with tweets from President Trump and Vice President Rubio

"I say, enough is enough. American families are struggling, offered corporate tax cuts and stock market numbers as indications of success, while many are living paycheck to paycheck and can't afford their healthcare."

"It's time we guarantee that no one in the most prosperous country in the world will go without healthcare. It's time to put behind us the days of families going bankrupt in order to pay for live saving procedures."

"Now, I know something about quality healthcare, the doctors at Walter Reed who took care of me literally saved my life after my helicopter was shot down. No American should look at a life saving procedure and see a lifetime of debt."

"As your President, I will build upon the Affordable Care Act, getting our country to universal healthcare coverage and ensuring a quality of care regardless of your income or background."

"I'm Tammy Duckworth and I approve this message."

Pahls thanked the Republican presidential nominee for campaigning for him and in an effort to provide strong conservative turnout in favor of himself and Rubio in order to keep NE-02 for the Republican Party in the special election and for Rubio in November, he reminds people that the reason why Nebraska is among the states with the lowest unemployment rates in the country is because Nebraska Governors Pete Rickets and Mike Hilgers believe in small government, kept Nebraskans' taxes low and supported the Trump Administration's decision to approve the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, thus encouraging job creation for all Americans, including Nebraskans. He blasted Tammy Duckworth as well as his Democratic opponent for the special election in NE-02 for their vote against the Keystone XL pipeline and their support for higher taxes and Obamacare and called on voters NE-02 to mobilize to fight for their future by electing Pahls in the House of Representatives and Marco Rubio at the White House in November in order to get America to full-employment through the promotion of free enterprise, tax reform, small government, energy independence by taking advantage of all sources of energy and the promotion of free trade.

Rubio’s older son Anthony campaigns for his father in Arizona, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico, Iowa and Ohio on economy, social security, energy, space policy, veteran affairs and foreign policy.

President Donald Trump campaigns for Rubio in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Nevada and Arizona on the successes and accomplishments of his administration such as strong economy and national security as well as on Vice-President Rubio's experience, accomplishments, leadership skills and agenda for America's future. Trump also campaigned Rich Pahls in NE-02, Kent Guinn in FL-03 and Keith Mashburn in CA-25 ahead of the special elections that will be held in this House districts in order to keep the House of Representatives under Republican control.

Former Vice-President Mike Pence campaigns for Rubio in Arizona, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Colorado, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Maine on economy, free enterprise, middle-class tax reform, energy, social issues and foreign policy. Pence also hold fundraising events for the Rubio campaign in addition of campaigning for Keith Mashburn in California's 25th congressional district, for Kent Guinn in Florida's 3rd congressional district and for Rich Pahls in Nebraska's 2nd congressional districts to strengthen the Republican majority in the House and help Rubio to pass his agenda as President.

During a rally in Houston, Texas he talks about the likelyhood that Brian Sandoval's SCOTUS nomination will pass the senate (as 54 senators are supporting it) and in an effort to help Rubio to keep Texas, he reminded voters that the tax-cut policies passed by the Trump/Rubio Administration brought the Hispanic unemployment rate at its lowest rate ever in history and he also touted the Vice-President's social conservatism as well as his championship of the Second Amendment, of the life of the unborn. He takes on the occasion to blast Tammy Duckworth for her support to Jeff Merkley's filibuster to Sandoval, accusing her of wanting to take away the American people's Second Amendment rights, tolerate abortion and wanting to nominate liberal judges who would award Guantanamo's detained terrorists with constitutional rights.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem campaigns for Rubio in Arizona, Colorado, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Texas and Florida on economy, agriculture, social issues, energy, free trade and foreign policy.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker campaigns for Rubio in Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa and Minnesota on economy, free trade, agriculture, manufacturing, energy independence, tax reform, free enterprise, infrastructure, social issues and foreign policy.

Iowa Senator and Senate Majority Leader for Rubio in Iowa. She praises the VP's record of taking care of veterans like herself (she served in the U.S. Army during the Iraq War) as well as his foreign policy experience and his plan to reduce middle-class taxes, declaring that she will, as Senate Majority Leader, invest all her energy to help getting Rubio elected President of the United States and work with him to pass his agenda for the sake of a strong economy and  a strong national security.

Puerto Rico Governor Ivan Rodriguez campaigns for Marco Rubio in Florida, Georgia, Texas, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Maine on veterans, economy, free trade, energy independence, manufacturing, agriculture, health care, social issues and social security.

He leads efforts to appeal among African-Americans for Rubio as the free enterprise and tax-cut policies of the last 8 years benefited the African-American community whose unemployment rate went at its lowest rate ever.

TURN XIII: May 14 - June 13
IRL: Mar. 28 - Apr. 4; extensions until Apr. 7 as needed

President Trump Approval Rating
Disapprove: 54%
Approve: 42%
Undecided: 4%

GE Polls:

Tammy Duckworth: 53%
Marco Rubio: 44%

Rubio cuts into Duckworth lead as conventions approach

Vice President Rubio's attack ads against Senator Duckworth appear to have been hitting home among some groups, particularly veterans who have expressed anger at VA bureaucracy. In these ads, Rubio lambasted Duckworth over several allegations of her ordering veterans to keep quiet about abuse within the system. Duckworth, for her part, has called the ads a "smear campaign," and has stated her continued commitment to veterans. However, the Vice President has narrowed the race significantly in recent days, suggesting it may become competitive, after all.

Republicans sweep in competitive House elections

Republicans have won three key races in the battle for the House, winning California's 25th district, Florida's 3rd district, and Nebraska's 2nd district. Vice President Rubio campaigned heavily for all three GOP candidates, and touted the victories on Twitter. Reps. Mashburn, Guinn, and Pahls have all, unsurprisingly, endorsed Rubio in the coming presidential race. Mashburn, running in CA-25, was a gain for the Republicans.

Sandoval confirmation vote set for May 29th; filibuster in doubt as detractors near 60

Governor Sandoval's confirmation vote date has been set for May 29th, with hearings scheduled from the 15th to the 27th, with the 28th set aside for debate among the Senate. The confirmation process has been rife with partisan attacks, with Republicans decrying Democrats' "refusal to support a strong, dedicated nominee," while the Democrats fired back, claiming Sandoval was "another Republican shill who will only add to the risks faced by Roe v. Wade and Obergefell v. Hodges." The filibuster, meanwhile, now has 58 detractors to 37 supporters, with 5 Senators undecided. If 60 Senators vote to proceed, the possibility of a filibuster will be dashed, likely leading to an easy confirmation for Sandoval in the Republican-controlled Senate.

Bernie Sanders resigns Senate seat; Zuckerman taps Anne Watson to take up seat

Following a heart attack last month, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has announced he will resign his Senate seat effective May 31, citing his desire to personally support the filibuster against Governor Sandoval's confirmation before retiring. Governor David Zuckerman has nominated Montpelier Mayor Anne Watson to succeed Sanders; Watson has already said she will run for her own term in November, when both the special and general elections for the seat will be held.

Coalition forces advance as Polonsky pulls out of Turkey

On May 6, 2024, Russian forces were ordered to pull out of Turkey by newly elected President Sergei Polonsky, much to the chagrin of President Erdogan, who had been relying on Russian troops to hold the line against "the Western imperialists." Operation Ceasefire, thus, has begun new advances, coming within two days' march of Ankara by the time of this report. Erdogan has reportedly fled to the eastern province of Batman, and has, according to sources close to him, begun discussing asylum with the Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who is widely considered the dictator of his country. It appears likely al-Burhan will allow this to go forward.

Thank you, Cincinnati!

You know, it should not take a natural disaster, a terrorist attack, an epidemic or a global pandemic to bring us together as a nation. It doesn’t matter whether one of the victims of such disasters is a Democrat or a Republican, because we’re all Americans. Yet there is a toxic lack of bipartisanship in Congress. Both Democrats and Republicans put their party first, their political agenda second and our country last instead and are fighting each other in Washington instead of coming together to face the concerns of the American people who are worried about their jobs, about their homes, their businesses, their health insurance and the threats from our enemies abroad.

That’s why I made it absolutely clear throughout my career, whether it is as U.S. Senator or as Governor, that my political fight would always be about West Virginia and time and again I stood by that promise. That’s why I fought to protect West Virginians’ pre-existing conditions, to protect their Second Amendment rights as I vetoed restrictions on automatic weapon sales and voted against banning high-capacity magazines of over 10 bullets. That’s why I opposed the cap-and-trade bill and supported the promotion of the development of clean coal technologies that allowed America’s prosperity and are getting America to energy independence. That’s why I worked to cross the aisle for the people of West Virginia by introducing the Miners Protection Act that established pension and health care benefits to coal mine workers. That’s why I supported Brett Kavanaugh’s SCOTUS nomination for the sake of the protection of America’s constitutional rights. That’s why as Governor of West Virginia, I cut taxes to make this state a place open for business and I advocated the elimination of the Death Tax. That’s why I co-sponsored the Paycheck Fairness Act to enforce against wage discrimination based on gender. That’s why I supported the abolition of Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran - that handed billions of dollars to a country that was the world’s largest sponsor of global terrorism – and supported President Trump on his successful efforts to denuclearize Iran and North Korea. That’s why I worked with my Democratic and Republican colleagues in the Senate to fight the Opioid Crisis and co-introduced the Providing Veterans Access to In-State Tuition Act that enabled student veterans eligibility to receive in-state tuition rates from public schools in the event they decide to use their Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits.

I always put America’s interests first and I always will. That’s how we make our democracy and our country better. What I did for West Virginia, Marco Rubio will do for America and that’s why I’m here to announce that I endorse him for the presidency of the United States of America because my country matters more than party.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

It has always been the purpose of Marco Rubio to put the concerns, interests and needs of America first before partisanship because to him nothing is near as important as being an American. No wonder that he passed those tough sanctions on Hezbollah and brought Democrats and Republicans together to pass his sponsored VA reform law that empowered the VA secretary to hold managers accountable for incompetence, negligence and corruption and to care more about veterans than bureaucrats. Along with Democratic Senator Bob Menendez, he co-sponsored the Let Freedom Reign Act of 2019 that provided military training and material support to the Venezuelan insurgency during the Venezuelan Civil War and helped them defeating tyranny and restoring democracy, freedom, justice, stability and integrity in Venezuela. While my Democratic colleagues suggested stricter gun control laws that would have been ineffective, Marco Rubio co-sponsored, after the 2016 shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, he introduced and passed the Terror Intelligence Improvement Act that allowed the U.S. attorney general to delay a firearms' purchase for up to three days and filed an emergency court petition if someone previously investigated for terrorism tried to buy a gun. Omar Mateen has been able to buy a gun because he was no longer under active investigation and so that bill ensured that if any gun purchaser has been suspected for terror in the last decade, the FBI would be notifying that he or she has gone in to buy a gun and would have the chance to stop that sale and to investigate what you’re up to. As Senator, he worked hard convincing Senator Jim Inhofe, former Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman, to commit to authorizing the Central Everglades Planning Project in the water resources bill for the sake of the restoration of the Everglades. That's why in May 2016, he was one of the 22 Senate Republicans who broke with their party majority in their support to the approval of a $2 billion emergency funding to combat the Zika virus at a time when his home state of Florida accounted for roughly 20% of the recorded cases of Zika in the U.S. In order to make the Trump tax cuts even broader and make them permanent and make them work for all Americans, he led the effort to double the Child Tax Credit, which benefited to all Americans, including the middle-class, and got this economy growing. And when Coronavirus was soaring around the world in 2020 and was threatening to shatter the world economy, Marco Rubio – who was Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship at the time – along with ranking member Ben Cardin worked with states to approve the Economic Injury Disaster Loans for businesses affected by COVID-19, which helped those businesses to remain competitive and to earn the necessary tools to pursue their economic activities, thus helping to avoid an economic slowdown and to allow America to pursue the economic growth of the last 8 years. He knows that the best way to avoid a recession is to make America the best place in the world to do business because 7 out 10 jobs are created by small businesses.

So unlike what my Democratic friends in the Senate want you to believe as they are trying to paint the Vice-President as just another go-along partisan politician, Marco Rubio has always put our country first. No wonder that the Lugar Center ranked him as the 10th most bi-partisan U.S. Senator on a total of 100. That is exactly the kind of leadership we need in our next President and that’s why Marco Rubio is the best choice to bring our country together and lead America forward.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

Meanwhile, his opponent Tammy Duckworth is ranked as the 84th most bi-partisan Senator by the Lugar Center. During her seven-and-a-half years in the Senate, she has not reached across party lines to get accomplish anything significant, nor has she been willing to take on powerful interest groups in the Democratic Party to get something done. No wonder that she voted 80 % of the time with Chuck Schumer and Sherrod Brown as well as with Nancy Pelosi and Andre Carson for higher taxes, strict regulations on energy production, stricter gun control and cuts in funding for our military. That is a big contrast with the record of one of the last Democratic presidents, Bill Clinton, who stood up to some of those same Democratic interest groups, worked with Republicans, and got some important things done, like welfare reform, middle-class tax cuts, free trade agreements, and a balanced budget.

Marco Rubio has the courage to put partisanship aside in order to get things done because he knows that is the way to make things better in America. That’s why, in order to ensure the continuation of America’s progress, he will bring both parties together to reduce middle-class taxes to 15 % and to index capital gains for inflation and create a tax-preferred savings vehicle so our economy can keep growing and make small businesses even more competitive. He will work with both parties to get this country to energy independence and he’ll do it by taking advantage of all of America’s sources of energy (including oil, coal, gas, wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, etc.), by investing a part of the revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable energies instead of doing it through higher taxes and regulations on energy and by making us number one in nuclear energy production and export through the building of 40 new nuclear power plants in the U.S. by 2050 and through tax credits for advanced nuclear projects and subsidies for building new nuclear power plants. As President, Marco Rubio will get us to soaring development of our country’s infrastructures by lowering the federal gasoline tax rate by 80 %; vetoing any gas-tax increase; giving back the control of the highways to the states; preventing Washington special interests  from building “Bridges to Nowhere” and engaging in other wasteful spending; freeing states from the strings that come attached to federal funding; removing barriers to public-private partnerships; abolishing the Davis-Bacon Act that inflates government costs by billions annually and is a giveaway of taxpayer dollars to labor unions and phasing out the Mass Transit Account, which loots the Highway Trust Fund. On foreign policy, he will bring both parties together to normalize our relations with Sergei Polonsky’s Russia so we can ensure long-term global peace and work together for the maintenance and expansion of peace, freedom, human rights, stability and territorial integrity in the world, including in Europe and in Middle East where Operation Ceasefire is about to defeat tyranny and oppression in Erdogan’s Turkey thanks to Russia turning against Ankara. As President and Commander-in-Chief, Marco Rubio will bring both parties and our allies to accomplish our path to a nuclear free world by ratifying the Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty to prohibit the use of fissile material from being used for the construction of nuclear weapons or WMDs, thus ensuring peace through strength.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

And you know, our first President George Washington has warned America that the spirit of party could be the worst enemy of our democracy and enfeeble our government's ability to do its job. That is exactly the kind of nightmare we are living today in Washington and we need to overcome that nightmare. So my fellow Americans, Republicans, Democrats, independents, Reagan Democrats or Clinton Democrats, we need you to come together and vote for the person you believe is the best to unify this country and keep it moving forward. And Marco Rubio is that kind of leader and as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, as a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and as Vice-President he has the best experience to get our economy growing and keep America safe, he knows how to get things done and he always put America first. So, my fellow Americans, Democrats, Republicans and independents let’s come together to elect Marco Rubio as President and to move our country forward.

Thank you. God bless you and God bless the United States of America.

Politico: Governor Charlie Baker to be in Manchester, NH same day as Duckworth rally, insiders suggest a cross-partisan endorsement

"The Governor has taken issue with the ramping up of the vitriol from the Rubio campaign," a source close to Governor Baker claimed, "he thinks that the Vice President has leaned too heavily on Trump tactics and would lose a policy centric debate." A local official, who declined to be named, commented, "There's a reason Charlie Baker has unheard-of levels of popularity in this state. He's fairly liberal on social issues and has gone up against the Trump administration several times. It shouldn't be a surprise that he has no interest in supporting a continuation of Trump's policies." We reached out to the Governor's spokesperson, and have not received any statement from Baker.

New York Times: Duckworth Vice Presidential Speculation

We spoke with sources close to the campaign, elected officials who requested anonymity, and political strategists, here's who they say Duckworth will likely pick for VP:

Governor Jared Polis (CO)

Source

The one time candidate and vocal Duckworth supporter is at the top of any list of potential Vice Presidential nominees for the Senator. Polis would make history as the first openly LGBTQ person on a national ticket and provide a balance of elected experience, geography, and would excite progressive without alienating moderates.

Governor Ruben Gallego (AZ)

Source

The Governor of Arizona is a progressive from a swing state with an impressive electoral record. His selection would be an overture to progressive supporters of Senator Jeff Merkley, who ran against Duckworth in the primary. Gallego is also a fellow veteran, which Duckworth has signified that she values in any cabinet member including VP.

Senator Conor Lamb (PA)

Source

Senator Conor Lamb is a rising star in the party, being a moderate, young Senator from a swing state. His support in Pennsylvania and work in the Duckworth campaign makes him an appealing choice for Vice President. The Senators have a notable warm relationship, sharing  a passion for veterans issues.

Senator Tammy Baldwin (WI)

Source

Those of us in the media have been speculating on a Double Tammy ticket ever since Senator Duckworth became a viable candidate in the Democratic race. Senator Baldwin wouldn't bring geographical diversity or executive experience, but she would excite the progressive base and the pair would make history several times over if elected in November. It's notable that there are two LGBTQ people on Senator Duckworth's shortlist.

Senator Jeff Merkley (OR)

Source

Typically, rumors of a cabinet of rivals are overblown, however, the two Senators have a notably warm relationship, and the primary never went negative even at its most competitive. Senator Jeff Merkley is a staunch progressive, and has a strong base of support in the Democratic party. Not to mention, his seat would almost certainly remain in Democratic hands if the ticket won in November, which Duckworth has been noted to view as an asset.

Marco Rubio's TV Ad

In an effort to dispel the Duckworth campaign's claims that Marco Rubio is running for Trump's third term and to describe the Vice-President as the real agent of change and with the right solutions for Americans looking for change, the Rubio campaign broadcasts an ad narrating the aspects of Rubio's agenda different to Trump's, especially on trade, energy, middle-class tax cuts and foreign policy.

Title : Real Change

Airing : Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin

Real Change ad narration :

Own creation
Narrator : In their obsession to undo the progress of the last 8 years, including the strongest economy in 50 years thanks to tax cuts and free enterprise and an America much safer than ever before thanks to a strong military, the Democrats want you to believe that this election is about change vs more of the same.

But that is a false choice. The choice of this election is between good change and bad change. Because change is not a destination just like hope is not a strategy.

Marco Rubio will bring the change that will create jobs and prosperity.

Source(s) : Own creation; Own creation
As President, he will cut middle-class taxes from 22 % to 15 % in addition of indexing capital gains for inflation and creating a tax-preferred savings vehicle, which will give the middle-class as well as all Americans a fair chance to prosper, to appreciate the American Dream and to succeed so our economy can grow and so our country preserves and reinforces its status as the best business-friendly environment in the world.

Own creation

Own creation; Own creation
He’ll expand free trade with our allies around the world so we can make America the most competitive nation in the world economy, counter-balance China's trade power, allow American businesses to make direct investments into foreign economies to produce goods at a lower cost in these environments and make America number one in auto production again.

He will finally lead our country to energy independence so we can become free from foreign oil and he will do so by taking advantage of all of America’s sources of energy, encouraging oil drilling and production, invest a part of the revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable energies so we can produce more solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric energies which will also be done through tax credits. His energy plan will make us number one in nuclear energy production and export by building 40 new nuclear power plants by 2050.

Marco Rubio will bring the change that will increasingly require less ground troops to combat terrorism. To face the threat represented by Boko Haram, he will provide military training and material support to our allies in Western Africa so they will have the necessary tools to defeat terrorism and under his leadership our country will lead drone airstrikes against Boko Haram key targets, including their controlled oil refineries in order to deprive them of any means to boost their war effort and their plans for terrorist attacks. As a result, it will reduce the need for additional ground troops there and it will cost our country less as drones are significantly cheaper to purchase, fuel, and maintain than regular airplanes.

Source(s) : Own creation; Own creation
And he will bring the change that will give us long term global peace by normalizing our relations with Sergei Polonsky's Russia so we can finally restore stability, peace and territorial integrity in Eastern Europe and the Middle East and eliminate any risk of nuclear war and ensure the expansion of human rights, freedom and peace in the globe. And he will ratify the Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty to prohibit the use of fissile material for the building of nuclear weapons or WMDs and accomplish our path to a nuclear free world and ensure long-term global peace.

That is the kind of change that will provide growth, jobs, prosperity as well as long-term global peace and security instead of higher taxes, bigger size of government, deeper dependence towards foreign energy, sending jobs overseas, higher tariffs and retreat from our duty to keep America safe.

So if you're looking for a candidate offering real change for America and the right solutions for America's future, the choice is clear : Marco Rubio.

Marco Rubio : I’m Marco Rubio and I approve this message.

"I may not agree with Senator Duckworth on everything, but I can't deny she is by far the best choice this November. I'll be honest with you all, I was going to sit this one out like I chose to do in the general elections in 2016 and 2020. In recent weeks, however, it's become increasingly apparent that I cannot stay quiet in good faith. It's clear the Vice President has been influenced by his time with Donald Trump, and has decided to make his campaign about smearing an American hero. I'll tell you something, he's doing this because he knows he couldn't win a compare and contrast with Senator Duckworth on the issues. He knows that when it comes to education policy, infrastructure, and veterans issues, Senator Duckworth is a leader. I've not enorsed a Democratic candidate before, but today I'm happy to endorse Senator Tammy Duckworth for President of the United States."

Thank you, Wisconsin!

This campaign is about how to keep this economy growing and how to pursue the economic progress of the last few years and give a chance for all Americans to prosper and enjoy the American Dream. And Wisconsin is a leader in the contribution to the strength of America’s agriculture industry. This state produces about a quarter of America's cheese, leading the nation in cheese production, is second in milk production, after California, and third in per-capita milk production, behind California and Vermont. The Badger State is the second largest producer of butter, producing about one-quarter of the nation’s butter. The state ranks first nationally in the production of corn for silage, cranberries, ginseng and snap beans for processing. It grows more than half the national crop of cranberries, and 97% of the nation's ginseng. Wisconsin is also a leading producer of oats, potatoes, carrots, tart cherries, maple syrup, and sweer corn for processing. Many agricultural companies, especially dairy companies, in New England like in the Midwest are benefiting from free trade partly because American milk is approximately twice less expensive than the Canadian milk, which encourages American and Canadian consumers to buy more American milk than Canadian milk to keep their purchasing power strong. And thanks to the successful renegotiation of NAFTA and the ratification of the USMCA, we strengthened labor laws and kept tariffs at zero while further opening up the Canadian market to US dairy, poultry and eggs and allowing more Canadian dairy, peanuts and peanut products to cross the border, thus drastically increasing our agriculture industry’s competitiveness. So if we expand free trade with our allies in Europe, Latin America and East Asia, we’re going to make this industry even more competitive and increase international consumers’ access to U.S. agriculture products, thus ensuring job creation in America and ensuring the maintenance of our manufacturing jobs here in this country thanks to a reduction of U.S. businesses’ fiscal burden. And that’s what I’m going to do as President of the United States to keep our agricultural industry strong and to make our country the best place for U.S. farmers to work and do business for the sake of our nation’s competitiveness in the world economy and create the favorable conditions for job creation in America and ensure long-term economic prosperity for all Americans.

Thank you. God bless you and God bless America.

Own creation
Two months ago, during a primary debate, Senator Duckworth has claimed that this Administration was, quote, « seriously lacking a steady hand with regards to the diplomatic situation in Turkey in the context of Operation Ceasefire ». Well, the recent progress that our allies are now making in Operation Ceasefire are proving her wrong like she has been on Iran (which we got denuclearizing and restoring freedom with the election of a pro-American President – Arsham Parsi – there, years after Obama’s nuclear deal with the old Iranian regime, a deal which Duckworth wholeheartedly supported, delivered billions of dollars to a country that was the world’s largest sponsor of global terrorism through the abolition of sanctions on Tehran) and on our successful military efforts and airstrikes that helped to defeat ISIS in the Middle East (as she opposed those airstrikes even before Operation Inhert Resolve has been launched at a time ISIS was controlling over 70 % of Iraq's territory). Thanks to our strong foreign policy, and to our strong diplomacy that promoted strong American leadership, we got Sergei Polonsky, a Russian President friendly to the United States, to withdraw Russian troops out of Turkey, which deprived Erdogan of a major partner in terms of military support and military arsenal provision. As a result, our allies among Coalition forces have started new advances, overpowering the Turkish troops and making strong progress at the point of coming within 2 days march of Ankara. Thanks to such progress as well as to the provision of military arsenal and training to the Kurds and our sanctions on any foreign arms supplies to Turkey, victory is near in Turkey and we are about to restore freedom, integrity, justice and stability in the Middle East and we’re going to get Turkish leaders to the negotiating table and ensure the recognition of Kurdistan’s independence, freedom and sovereignty. That is the kind of leadership that we need in order to ensure steady global peace and defend freedom. This kind of leadership is peace through strength, which is exactly what we are doing.

In the next few years, the next President is going to have to deal with Turkey’s leadership on that issue and look them in the eye and not blink, just like he or she is going to have to deal with Sergei Polonsky to effectively normalize our relations and ensure arms limitations for the sake of global peace and just like he or she is going to have to stand up to Boko Haram and keep this country safe against terrorism. The fact of the matter is we are in a time in history in which we can’t afford uncertainty. This is no time to train somebody about how to deal with America’s national security threats and geopolitical foes. This is a time for strength and experience. The next President needs to be ready to be Commander-in-Chief on Day One. If you’re looking for someone with those qualities and ready to make tough decisions, then I am your candidate, because I am a proven leader.

That’s why, in the U.S. Senate I passed tough sanctions on Hezbollah; successfully introduced the Girls Count Act to fight human trafficking; co-sponsored the U.S.-Jordan Defense Cooperation Act to provide assistance to our Jordanian allies in the battle against ISIS and in dealing with the Syrian refugee crisis; and co-sponsored the Let Freedom Reign Act that provided military training and arms sales for the Venezuelan insurgency during the Venezuelan Civil War and helped the people of Venezuela to transfer towards democracy, liberty and integrity. As Vice-President of the United States, I helped President Trump to defeat ISIS and to get the world to the denuclearization of North Korea and Iran. I was the first Vice-President in office to visit Iran since the Iranian Revolution and Arsham Parsi and I discussed issues in which we managed to reach agreements thanks to Parsi’s friendliness to our country. It was in the aftermath of that visit, a few weeks later, that Parsi announced, during a Joint Session of Congress that I presided along with the Speaker of the House, that Iran was going to proceed towards their denuclearization, to stop sponsoring global terrorism and that our relations with Tehran were going to be normalized. And that’s exactly what happened, getting us to stronger nuclear security, stronger stability in the Middle East and to stronger global peace. So I know how to deal with our allies and how to handle America’s national security threats. As a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and as Vice-President of the United States, I have the best leadership and experience to keep America safe and as President I will do so by keeping our military strong and modernize it, by standing with our allies and work to expand our alliances, by normalizing our relations with Polonsky’s Russia, by ratifying the Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty and by keeping American leadership strong. That way, we will defeat Boko Haram, get us to a nuclear free world, eliminate any risk of nuclear war, ensure long term global peace and guarantee that our children and grandchildren, including my 4 children, will grow up in a world in which they will know peace, security, stability, freedom and prosperity. That’s why I’m asking for your support and your vote in order to get us there.

Thank you! God bless you and God bless America!

-Campaign in Las Vegas, Henderson, Paradise, Reno, Sparks and Carson City, Nevada with Dean Heller and Adam Laxalt on economy, Rubio’s middle-class tax cut proposal, his plan for energy independence, free trade, immigration, foreign policy, national security, space policy as well as on SCOTUS and constitutional rights. The Vice-President campaigns for Dean Heller, praising his record of bi-partisanship and his accomplishments. Ahead of the senate vote on Brian Sandoval’s SCOTUS nomination, Rubio holds a rally in Reno, Nevada, where he praises Sandoval’s record as Attorney General and as Governor (in which he led the state's legal fight against the storage of nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain; developed Nevada's first Public Integrity Unit and sponsored legislation strengthening Nevada's laws against domestic violence, drug abuse and human trafficking; signed a package of bill to provide $1.3 billion in tax breaks and subsidies over 20 years for Tesla Motors in exchange for building the massive Gigafactory 1 battery factory in the state, near Reno, to revitalize the economy after the 2008 financial crisis; reformed the state's education system by increasing funding for public schools and grants, by creating incentives to recruit more teachers, by promoting professional training, by appropriating  $10 million for preschool programs and by expanding full-day kindergarten across Nevada; and managed to diversify Nevada's economy by encouraging the production of solar and geothermal energies), describing him as one of the most qualified nominees for SCOTUS ever in the history of the United States and blasting Tammy Duckworth on her support to the filibuster to Sandoval’s nomination. The Rubio campaign hopes that Sandoval’s strong popularity in Nevada (where he had a 53 % approval rating towards his performance as Governor compared to only 22 % disapproval rating) and the Democrats’ filibuster will help Rubio to win Nevada in November.

Own creation

Marco Rubio : Thank you, Texas! This campaign is about how to get things done, about how to preserve our people’s freedom and how to keep this country moving forward. It requires, of course, strong turnout in the presidential election to bring me over the top but also keeping the Senate and the House of Representatives under Republican hands. That’s why I’m here to campaign for my friend Senator Ted Cruz.

Senator Cruz and I have something in common : we are both sons of Cuban immigrants who came to this country in quest of the American Dream.

That requires making America the best place in the world to do business which is what we are doing as we passed the largest tax cuts in our nation’s history, which helped create seven and a half million new jobs and brought the unemployment rate at its lowest rate in 55 years. That requires keeping our military strong and that’s how we made America much safer than ever before by defeating ISIS. And that requires protecting our Constitution as well as the freedoms that the Constitution offers to our people. And Senator Cruz fought hard throughout his political career to defend the Second Amendment as well as the right for unborn human beings to live. In the U.S. Senate, as he became chairman of the Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Space, Science, and Competitiveness, he co-authored the U.S. Commercial Space Launch Competitiveness Act that prevented the federal government from introducing further regulation on the commercial space industry for 7 ½ years, reauthorized use of the International Space Station through 2024 and encouraged the development of the commercial space sector. In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey that hit Texas, caused serious damages and deprived people of their home, Senator Cruz and myself along with Senator Cornyn introduced the Emergency Tax Relief for the families of victims of Hurricane Harvey, a bill that gave $5 billion in emergency tax relief for families impacted by Hurricane Harvey to help them recover from that disaster and that this law passed both Houses of Congress. But most of the Democrats in Congress opposed that legislation. The fact is that we need leaders and legislators who put the needs of the people first ahead of partisanship. And in 2014, Ted successfully introduced the amendment allowing victims of the 2009 terrorist attack at Fort Hood to be eligible for Purple Hearts. In a year in which Texas may become competitive, we need all of you to mobilize on Election Day because if you stay home if we rest on our laurels, we could see Texas turn blue. And Senator Cruz and I kept our word to protect the interests of the American people by championing tax reform and free enterprise, defense the Constitution and a strong military, thus getting America to where we are today. And that’s why we need you to go to the polls and that way we will win this presidential race and not only keep our majorities in both houses of Congress but also expand them and that’s how we will keep moving this country forward and make sure that America’s greatness has no limits.

Ted Cruz : Thank you, Marco! Thank you, my fellow Texans, for welcoming the next President of the United States of America, Marco Rubio. I can tell you that there’s no better candidate than him to lead America. This is a man of proven leadership and achievement. And this election will determine the fate of our nation and is clearly the most important of our lifetime and we better get it right.

Seven years ago, as we inherited the slowest economic recovery in history caused by high taxes, big government and regulations and were risking a recession, President Trump put forward the largest tax reform legislation in the history of this nation : the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. And in order to make those tax cuts even broader and permanent, Marco put forward an amendment doubling the Child Tax Credit from $1000 to $2000 and thus we passed that legislation. As a result, the economy is booming with the lowest unemployment rate in modern history, the lowest Hispanic unemployment rate ever recorded, the lowest African-American unemployment rate ever recorded, higher wages and the creation of more than 7 million new jobs. Why? Because we made America the best place in the world to do business. And despite those great results, Marco’s opponent along with the majority of her colleagues voted against the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, wants to roll it back and raise your taxes. But on the other hand, our nominee, our next President Marco Rubio will do even more to keep this economy growing and he’ll do it by championing tax reform and even reduce the middle-class tax rate from 22 % to 15 % in addition of indexing capital gains for inflation and creating a tax-preferred savings vehicle, which will give the middle-class as well as all Americans a fair chance to prosper, to appreciate the American Dream and to succeed. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, he has the right experience to protect the interests of taxpayers and hard-working families and preserve America’s status as the best business-friendly environment in the world.

Texas is a leader in energy production : Texas is number one in the nation in terms of production of crude oil and natural gas but also in the generation of renewable wind power as well as in net electricity generation. We’re number five when it comes to solar energy production. And thanks to the approval of the construction of Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines, we made strong progress in our path towards energy independence. So we understand that America’s energy independence requires taking advantage of all of America’s sources of energy. But that is not Tammy Duckworth’s intention, and that’s why she supported, along with Nancy Pelosi, a $10 per barrel tax on oil and voted against fracking and natural gas exports, which could have put 137 000 jobs at risk and driven up gas prices by 25 cents per gallon. But Marco Rubio has the right plan to get us to energy independence, which will be done by encouraging oil drilling and approving the construction of pipelines to facilitate oil transportation. He will also use a part of the revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable energies. He also has a plan to make America the world’s leader in terms of nuclear energy export and production by encouraging the building of 40 new nuclear power plants in the US by 2050 and that will be done by investing a part of the revenues from oil drilling in the development of renewable energies, including nuclear, and through tax credits for advanced nuclear projects and subsidies for the building of new nuclear power plants. That way, America will become energy independent, strengthen its status as the world’s largest energy producer and improve its ecological footprint.

We now have the most conservative SCOTUS in history, thus ensuring the protection of our constitutional rights. In this presidential race, there is only one candidate who defended the Second Amendment time and again and will continue to do so and this candidate is Marco Rubio. All of us have been horrified as we’ve seen these school shootings. Santa Fe High Schol is about half hour from my house. I was home that morning and I jumped in a truck and headed down there. I spent the entire time at Santa Fe High School that entire day with students, teachers, first responders and parents. Governor Abbott and I were in a hospital visiting a dozen of students who were shot. And we asked them what is the answer to this. We kept our mouth shut and listened. Every one of those students said almost word for word that gun control is not the answer, they said that taking away our guns will not make us safer and will just mean that the killers and murderers have guns. And we asked them what is the solution to such disasters and the number one answer I heard from students, teachers and families at Santa Fe is more armed police officers at schools to keep our kids and our schools safer. And in my very first year in the Senate, I led the way introducing the legislation that would provide $300 million in additional funding to put metal detectors. But unfortunately, the Democrats filibustered that legislation because their only focus was trying to undermine the Second Amendment like they are right now filibustering the SCOTUS nomination of one of the most qualified people ever for the Supreme Court, Brian Sandoval. He has absolutely no baggage and put the people of Nevada first before partisanship and yet Tammy Duckworth and the majority of her colleague are filibustering his SCOTUS nomination. No wonder that she wants to nominate liberal Supreme Court Justices who would deprive you of your the Second Amendment rights out of the Constitution, tolerate abortion and award Guantanamo terrorists with constitutional rights. Marco Rubio will nominate conservative judges who will protect your Second Amendment rights as well as the life of the unborn and state powers.

And it was in Garland, Texas, that ISIS started taking on America through their 2015 terrorist attack at Curtis Culwell Center where they injured 1 security officer. But thanks to the vigilance and courage of our police officers, we stopped this terrorist attack by killing the 2 perpetrators. Since then, we made strong progress against terror under President Trump and Vice-President Rubio by rebuilding our military and by being on offense against radical Islamic terrorism and that’s how we defeated ISIS in the Middle East and as President, Marco Rubio will keep our military strong and modernize it, provide our allies in military training and arsenal, expand our alliances and by promoting strong American leadership and he will defeat Boko Haram, normalize our relations with Polonsky’s Russia, accomplish our path to a nuclear free world through the ratification of the Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty and get us to long-term global peace and national security.

Texas is home to the Johnson Space Center that was formed in 1961 in the context of the Space Race between us and the Soviets, a contest which we won by sending men to the Moon, 55 years ago. Right now, America’s objective is to send a crewed mission to Mars by 2030 and that’s why, as President of the United States, Marco Rubio will make the establishment of a manned lunar base named Lunar Gateway on the Moon by 2028 his top priority in terms of space exploration to give us a springboard for crewed missions to the Moon and Mars, thus making our goal to get astronauts to Mars possible. And that will give Texas an opportunity to further strengthen its status as a leader in America’s space exploration program.

My fellow Texans, my fellow Americans, you can see that Marco Rubio is by far the most tested, prepared and experienced presidential candidate in this race. We can trust him to protect America’s freedom and values and get us to permanent and long-term economic prosperity through free enterprise and long-term peace through strength. So thanks to strong turnout from you, we’re going to keep Texas red and elect Marco Rubio as our next President and we’ll move this country forward.

Thank you! God bless Texas and God bless America!

-Economic policy speech in Tampa, FL where Rubio reminds voters that agriculture is the state’s second largest industry and that after Hurricane Irma hit Florida he worked with his colleagues in Congress to secure the creation of a $343 million block grant for Florida citrus as part of the 2017 hurricane disaster supplemental package. He also underlined that in 2014, when South Korea had levied a 54 % tariff on orange products, which was harming Florida orange juice producers, he visited South Korea where he pressed officials there on this harmful tariff and helped fast-track a solution by urging South Korean Ambassador Ahn Ho-young and his colleagues to tour Florida facilities and resolve their concerns, which they did a month later, thus settling the dispute between the U.S. and South Korea over frozen orange juice concentrate and bringing Florida natural juice sales from $4 million to $40 million in 3 years and the sale of fresh grapefruit from $1 million to nearly $5 million in the same period. Noting that Florida’s $1 billion annual exports to India represent a reason why trade ties with India’s large and growing market matter to Americans, Marco Rubio takes on the occasion to reiterate how much it is important for America to expand free trade agreements with its allies, which he will do as President while reducing the corporate tax rate to 15 % and lowering manufacturing businesses’ fiscal burden to keep manufacturing jobs in America, so we can encourage job creation in America by making the U.S. the most competitive nation in the world economy, allowing American businesses to make direct investments into foreign economies to produce goods at a lower cost in these environments and increasing international consumers’ access to American products. Rubio reminds voters that Tampa is the 56th best city in the U.S. to do business while Sarasota (located less than an hour from here) is the 18th best U.S. city to do business and declares that it demonstrates how much America’s prosperity requires making it the best business-friendly environment in the world, which has been done in the last 8 years through the promotion of tax reform and free enterprise and which he will do as President by reducing taxes for all Americans, including the middle-class, as well as the cost of doing business in America. He noted to voters that Florida is the third-leading state in terms of electricity production in addition of having the 2nd highest natural gas prices in the nation and that nuclear represents about 12 % of the state’s net generation, taking on the occasion to reiterate his energy plan that will get America to energy independence by taking advantage of all of America’s sources of energy (including oil, gas, coal, nuclear, solar, wind, geothermal, electricity, etc.), invest a part of revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable energies and make us number one in nuclear energy production and export through the building of 40 new nuclear power plants in the US in the next 25 years and through tax credits for advanced nuclear projects and subsidies for the building of new nuclear power plants. He calls on voters to cast their votes for him to get America to permanent and long-term economic prosperity and full-employment.

Sneator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) endorses Tammy Duckworth for President

[credit: Wikimedia Commons]

"It is natural to be disappointed at how things have turned out. To all of my supporters, you have given your heart and soul into the campaign, and I thank you immensely for it. Rest assured, it will not soon be forgotten. It's funny, but in 2016, some crazy man from Vermont decided to run against one of the most powerful Democrats in US history. Everyone wrote him off, but he didn't write himself off. He ran twice for President. He won neither, but our party has effectively been reshaped in his imagie into a strong, progressive party that fights strongly for change and a fairer system for all.

Bernie, I hope you are feeling better. I'll be coming to see you soon.

But let's not dwell on what might have been. Let's look to the future. Our current administration has systematically been destroying our environment through its pushing of fossil fiels over renewable energy and its disastrous land conservation policies. It has cast our workers aside by refusing to raise the minimum wage. It has encouraged a failed, survival-of-the-fittest economy by cutting taxes for the rich and shifting their burden to the middle and working classes. It has encouraged the richest among us to consolidate their corporate monopolies, strangling small business in this country. Now we have a Republican nominee who wants to continue thos policies.

Let me present you an alternative vision for the future. One with a President who stands with our workers over corporate America. One who will protect our environment with effective policies on renewable energy and conservation. One who will encourage an economy that is fair for all, not just those at the top. One who will provide tax relief for our middle and working classes and not those at the top. One who will bust up corproate monopolies and create a fairer marketplace. That option is standing to my left here. She served our nation on the battlefield, one of the most selfless acts one can think of, and it cost her much, but she continues to stand with the people of this nation, and not those at the top.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the first female President of the United States of America, Tammy Duckworth!"

Governor Ivan Rodriguez (R-PR) endorses Marco Rubio for President

Even though my campaign fell up short and things didn't go the way I originally planned, I know that the best way to keep America moving forward and make sure that the American Dream has no limits is to come together as a united party and that's why I officially endorse Marco Rubio for President of the United States because he is the leader that we need now. There's no candidate more qualified than him for the highest office of the world. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, as a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and as Vice-President, he has the best experience to help create jobs through the promotion of free enterprise and tax reform and to keep America safe through the promotion of strong national defense and strong American leadership.

Now, we just heard Jeff Merkley attacking Vice-President Rubio about continuing President Trump's policies. I find that funny he talks about it because Senator Merkley supported policies adopted by President Trump : he supported an amendment that would allow concealed and loaded weapons in national parks, now he's in favor of diminishing the Second Amendment just like Tammy Duckworth. Senator Merkley opposed state sales taxes until he flip-flopped and now favors higher taxes just like Senator Duckworth. And here's a thing Senator Duckworth would do the same as Donald Trump : she opposes free trade.

And if we were living in a failed economy like Senator Merkley and Senator Duckworth are claiming, we would not have saw 7 and-a-half million new jobs created, lowest Hispanic and African-American unemployment rates ever recorded and lowest national unemployment rate in more than 50 years but that's exactly what is happening. The reality is that the big government, tax-hike and job-killing policies that they adopted have failed and we need to keep moving in the right direction with the right policies. And Senator Merkley talked about protecting the interests of the middle class. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act did so as a family of four with annual income of $73,000 (median family income) saw a tax cut of more than $2,058, a 58 percent reduction in federal taxes. A single parent with one child earning $41 000 a year saw a tax cut of $1,304, a 73 percent reduction in federal taxes. Nine out of ten taxpayers with annual income between $64,000 and $108,000 earned an average federal tax cut of $1400 in 2018. These are not my words, these are the words of the left of center Institute for Taxation and Economic Policy. Similarly, 90 % of taxpayers winning between $40,000 and $64,000 got an average federal tax cut of $810, while 87 percent of taxpayers with annual income between $108,000 and $232,000 saw an average federal tax cut of $2,710. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act doubled the standard deduction for an individual from $6,000 to $12,000 and for a family from $12,000 to $24,000. 105 million Americans took the standard deduction in 2015 according to the IRS statistics of income (SOI) database. So the TCJA benefited the middle-class and yet Tammy Duckworth and Jeff Merkley voted against it, voting against the needs of the middle-class.

Our nominee, Marco Rubio, dedicated all his life to protect the American Dream and America's status as the land of opportunity, caring about the fate of the vulnerable as well as of hard working families. When he and his family lived paycheck to paycheck, the hard working of a bartender and a housekeeper who came to this country from Cuba, he managed to earn all the opportunities that previous generations could not have earned for themselves. That's why it has always been his purpose to fight to make sure that the next generation will be better off than the previous. Thanks to his legislation effort to double the Child Tax Credit, our country passed the largest tax cuts ever, ensuring strong economic prosperity and strengthening America's status as the best place in the world to do business. His sponsored 2014 VA reform law empowered the VA secretary to hold managers accountable for incompetence, negligence and corruption and to care more about veterans than bureaucrats. His co-sponsored Girls Count Act forced countries receiving U.S. aid to give birth certificated to girls at birth in order to combat human trafficking, thus freeing young girls around the world from brutality and terror.

Marco Rubio is the one true agent of change in this campaign and has the right solutions to provide change to this country. As President, he will cut taxes for the middle-class from 22 % to 15 %, index capital gains for inflation and create a tax-preferred savings vehicle, which will reduce the fiscal burden of the middle-class and give them a fair chance to prosper, to find a job, to earn higher wages and to enjoy the American Dream. He’ll expand free trade with our allies around the world so we can make America the most competitive nation in the world economy, counter-balance China's trade power, allow American businesses to make direct investments into foreign economies to produce goods at a lower cost in these environments and make America number one in auto production again. He will accomplish our path to energy independence so we can become free from foreign oil and he will do so by taking advantage of all of America’s sources of energy, invest a part of the revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable energies so we can produce more solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric energies which will also be done through tax credits in addition of making number one in nuclear energy production and export by getting us to a total of 100 nuclear power plants.

Marco Rubio will get us to full-employment, long-term economic prosperity, keep America's status as the best business-friendly environment in the world, accomplish energy independence and a clean environment and keep America safe through strong American leadership. And we also have the chance to make history by electing him as America's first Hispanic President and we're going to prove that in America « todo es posible ».

Thank you! God bless you and God bless America!

Duckworth campaign prepares for DNC as Rubio moves to cut convention bump

With the DNC approaching, Senator Duckworth and her aides are moving to lock down the final schedule for the convention, as well as complete her vice presidential vetting process. The campaign reportedly had a shortlist of five potential contenders as of last month, but has generally stayed mum about whom they've been leaning towards since then. Duckworth is expected to announce her pick either shortly before or during the convention.

Willie Robertson announces Senate bid in Louisiana; may keep Dems from top two in November

Willie Robertson, CEO of Duck Commander and known conservative activist, has jumped into the US Senate race in Louisiana, quickly surging to second place as top Democratic candidates, such as Mitch Landrieu and Cedric Richmond, have declined to contest the race. While some Republican insiders have supported this move, other worry that, if Robertson continues to rise, he may tie or even surpass incumbent Senator Ryan Gatti, who generally has the backing of the establishment. As of yet, the polls show Gatti with 38.2% of the first round vote to Robertson's 28.0%, with four Democrats and a Libertarian splitting the remaining vote.

Sandoval confirmed 54-46 as filibuster barely fails

Governor Brian Sandoval became the newest justice on the Supreme Court on May 29, with a cloture vote garnering the necessary 60 ayes (albeit exactly), and proceeding to an easy confirmation for Sandoval, 54-46, largely along party lines. President Trump touted Sandoval's confirmation as a victory, while Senator Merkley decried it as "the death knell for Roe." Justice Sandoval was sworn in shortly after the vote.

Polonsky reveals Putin-backed plot to have him impeached and arrested; Medvedev taken into custody as Putin flees to China

Newly elected Russian President Sergei Polonsky has already uncovered a plot against him, according to Russian state media. According to an official press release, the FSB discovered that former President Vladimir Putin and former Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev had been planning a coup against the new President, seeking his overthrow and the reinstallment of a Putin regime, under which a new constitution would be drawn up wherein Putin could serve for life. FSB agents, however, quickly reported this to Polonsky, having obtained the information under the guise of being co-conspirators. As of this publication, Medvedev has been arrested, while Putin has fled to the People's Republic of China, where he has been granted asylum by President Xi. President Trump has voiced support for Polonsky amid the crisis.

Coalition forces take Ankara as Erdogan flees to Sudan; terrorist attacks occur in Izmir and Constantinople

With Turkish armed forces in full retreat, Coalition troops easily pushed into and took Ankara on June 2 with relatively few casualties. The fall of the capital has led many to wonder whether Fuat Oktay, now Acting President of Turkey, will surrender to Coalition forces, as President Erdogan has been confirmed to have landed in Khartoum shortly after the fall of Ankara. However, not all is well for the Coalition, as three suicide bomb attacks have occurred in Izmir and Constantinople; the lone terrorist in Izmir reportedly pledged allegiance to ISIS, while the two attacks in Constantinople were perpetrated by men identified as Turkish nationalists. The Greek government, in response, showed no willingness to cede the city back to Turkey.

Trump talks Turkey with Melenchon, Esken during Normandy visit

While in France to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, President Trump met with fellow leaders of an invasion going on right now in Turkey: French President Jean-Luc Melenchon and German Chancellor Saskia Esken, who reaffirmed their support for the campaign. Trump also took the time to mention the Turkish campaign in his address at a ceremony commemorating the anniversary, stating "Now we are faced with the removal of another violent and repressive dictator, an evil, evil man, and while the world may not be at stake, as it was for these men eighty years ago, it is still a good sign for the world that we can strike down tyranny wherever it raises its ugly, ugly head."

Tammy Duckworth Runs Ad "Fighting for Our Future" in AZ, CO, NV, NC, VA, MI, WI, PA, TX, and GA

"In these turbulent times, instead of trying to help broker peace or help working families, Marco Rubio has decided to run a smear campaign against Tammy Duckworth's record, so let's take a look at that record."

"Tammy Duckworth has spent her entire life looking for ways to best serve her country, whether it be when she was deployed in Iraq, starting programs to help fellow veterans suffering from PTSD as Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, or in Congress taking the lead in foreign policy and preventing gun violence."

"Tammy Duckworth is a leader, even cosponsoring a bill with Republicans to prevent China's overreach in South China and the East China Sea and co-signing a letter to request increased funding for carbon capture."

"While Marco Rubio has spent the past 8 years as Donald Trump's greatest apologist, Tammy Duckworth was busy fighting for a better future."

Washington Post Exclusive: Down to Three, Senator Tammy Duckworth Has Reportedly Met with Three Potential Vice Presidential Picks at Her Home in Illinois

Washington Post has exclusive information that Democratic Nominee Senator Tammy Duckworth has met with her final three candidates for Vice President. Last month, the campaign confirmed it had narrowed the list to three, but did not offer specifics on which, if any, the Senator leaned towards.

On Monday, Governor Jared Polis was spotted leaving Duckworth's home, and when pressed for a comment he said, "Yes, I've spoken with Tammy several times, and we've been to each other's homes. I would be honored to serve in any role with Tammy, and I think she'll make an excellent President." We were able to reach a spokesperson for Tammy Duckworth who said, "Senator Duckworth has made it very clear that Governor Polis is on her shortlist, and that he is a true leader for Colorado and the Democratic Party."

Two days later, we received reports that another candidate had gone to Illinois to meet with Duckworth, this time it was Senator Conor Lamb. It's been well-documented that the Senators have quite a warm relationship, and Senator Lamb has taken an active role in Duckworth's campaign since its early days. However, the timing of this particular meeting is suspect, leading many to speculate Lamb has made it on to the shortlist of VP choices for Duckworth. Offices of both Senators have confirmed the meeting but declined to say whether a decision was made.

Yesterday, Governor Ruben Gallego was reported to be in Illinois, with no confirmation as to the nature of the visit. As of this morning, the Post has received confirmation that the Governor was meeting with Duckworth at her home, and that he too was on the final list. Offices of both the Senator and Governor confirmed the meeting when the Post asked for clarification, with the office of the Governor saying, "Governor Gallego has been committed to serving his country, and has been honored to be considered for the Vice Presidency by Senator Duckworth. Regardless of who the Senator goes with, he intends to campaign aggressively on the ticket's behalf and work with the administration on making the lives of Arizonans, and all Americans, better.

Marco Rubio's response to Senator Duckworth's attacks in Allentown, Pennsylvania

It's clear that the Duckworth campaign's moves depend on the polls. When Senator Duckworth was leading by double digits in the polls, they did not spend any effort to attack me. Now that this race is getting closer and closer and more competitive as I'm making strong progress in the polls, they are panicking and so Senator Duckworth's pollsters told her to go on the attack and that's what she just did, broking her promise to remain positive.

I respect Senator Duckworth's military service to our country in Iraq, but as John Adams famously said « facts are stubborn things ». She decided to challenge the credibility of whistleblowers who had the courage to tell the truth and call out the corruption in the VA bureaucracy that allowed an unchecked criminal to care for veterans and she ordered them, in order to protect Rod Blogajevich, to remain silent about this scandal. She decided to challenge the credibility of men and women who bravely fought and sacrificed for the protection of our country's freedom and families. I think it is deeply offensive to doubt of the credibility of these brave service people who swore to protect us and sacrificed so much to do so.

Now she ended up talking about me being an apologist of President Trump. Actually, I have taken him on when he said things that are wrong on policy and I've condemned them. When he said things that are agressive, vulgar, inappropriate and offensive, I've condemned them. When it comes to being an apologist, Senator Duckworth knows a lot about it because in effect she is an apoligist of a Secretary of State who has been described by the majority of Americans as not honest and trustworthy, who used a private email server as Secretary of State instead of a government server, deleted 33 000 emails and put our national security in danger and who has consistently lied to the families of the Benghazi victims, telling them that a video was responsible of this radical Islamic terrorist attack, and even responding to Congress, quote,  « what difference at this point does it make? » Yet, Senator Duckworth supported Hillary Clinton. And on this point about being apologist, Senator Duckworth has also been an apologist of disgraced Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich as she supported Blagojevich's 2006 gubernatorial re-election even when she knew he was under federal investigation for already a year at that time because of ethical lapses and that he was convicted of 17 public corruption charges, including mail fraud, abuse of power in attempting to gain campaign contributions from Children's Memorial Hospital, and a $1,500 check written to one of Blagojevich’s children by the husband of an appointed state worker. In the month before Blagojevich was re-elected, Rezko was indicted on corruption charges while his ally, Levine, pleaded guilty to wringing cash from firms seeking state business. And yet, Duckworth supported Blagojevich's gubernatorial bid despite of his large record of scandal, corruption and outrage. Nobody is above the law.

And I will not be lectured about fighting for America's future, because I dedicated all my life to do so. As a young man and the son of Cuban immigrants, I lived paycheck to paycheck but thanks to the hardowking of a bartender and housekeeper, my parents granted me the opportunities that they could not have earned for themselves. That's why it has always been my purpose to make sure that the next generation will be better off than the previous and that's why I'm fighting for America's future. I did so by co-sponsoring the Regulation Costs to Small Businesses Act, which required the Small Business Administration to conduct an annual study to estimate the total cost of regulations on small businesses. I did so by leading the effort to double the Child Tax Credit in order to pass the largest tax cuts in the history of this country, leading to the strong economic prosperity that America is now living through strong job creation and the promotion of free enterprise, which benefited the middle-class. I did so by taking the lead as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, protecting the interests of small businesses by passing legislation lowering small businesses' tax burden and increasing their competitiveness and their ability to produce, to sell and to create jobs. I did so by taking the lead in the Senate to pass the 2014 VA reform law by introducing a measure empowering the VA secretary to hold managers accountable for incompetence, negligence and corruption and to care more about veterans than bureaucrats. I did so by being among the 22 Republican senators who supported the approval of a $2 billion emergency funding to combat the Zika virus at a time when my home state of Florida accounted for roughly 20% of the recorded cases of Zika in the U.S. I did so by successfully introducing the Girls Count Act that forced countries receiving U.S. aid to give birth certificated to girls at birth in order to combat human trafficking, thus liberating young girls around the world from brutality and terror. I did so by getting Republicans and Democrats to work together to pass tough sanctions on Hezbollah and to pass the Let Freedom Reign Act, I legislation that I sponsored along with Senator Bob Menendez, to support materially the Venezuelan insurgency against Maduro's opression in the context of the Venezuelan Civil War. I did so by sponsoring the the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019 that required the Department of State to assess whether political developments in Hong Kong justify changing Hong Kong's unique treatment under US law. And I did so by helping the President to defeat ISIS and to denuclearize North Korea and Iran, which has been done by rebuilding our military and keeping it strong and keeping American leadership strong. So unlike what our political opponents try to claim, I fought to help working families and made strong contributions to broker peace.

And as President, I will keep fighting for America's future. I will do that by reducing taxes for the middle-class in order to give them a fair and decent chance to prosper, to find a job and to live the American Dream. I will do that by keeping America's status as the best place in the world to do business, by getting our country to energy independence through the investment of a part of the revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable sources of energy and by making us number one in nuclear energy export and production by getting us to a total of 100 nuclear power plants in the U.S. I will normalize our relations with Polonsky's Russia for the sake of global freedom and global peace and stability and I will keep this country safe by keeping our military strong and by staying on offense against terror. And thanks to my experience, we're going to get America to the brightest future we can imagine through full-employment and permanent economic prosperity thanks to a strong middle-class and the promotion of free enterprise and through long-term national security and global peace thanks to a strong military, strong alliances, strong diplomacy and strong American leadership. So you can count on me to fight for your future and so I'm asking for your vote.

Thank you. God bless you and God bless America.

This is no time for uncertainty. This is no time to train somebody about how to deal with America’s national security threats and geopolitical foes. This is a time for strength and experience. The next President needs to be ready to be Commander-in-Chief on Day One. And Marco Rubio has passed every test on every challenge facing America.

And Marco Rubio has been there on the ground when he became the first Vice-President to visit Iran since the Iranian Revolution and he cut great agreements with pro-American Iranian President Arsham Parsi. It was in the aftermath of that visit that Parsi announced, during a Joint Session of Congress presided by Marco Rubio that Iran was going to proceed towards their denuclearization, to stop sponsoring global terrorism and that our relations with Tehran were going to be normalized. And that’s exactly what happened, getting us to stronger nuclear security, stronger stability in the Middle East and to stronger global peace.

Tammy Duckworth June Campaign Schedule

Source

June 14-17th: Wisconsin

- Rally in Kenosha
- Rally in Racine
- Rally in Milwaukee, responds to Vice President Rubio's attacks

"It looks like Marco Rubio wants to have it both ways, to be able to attack my character, my record, and my service, but when I respond I'm suddenly running a negative campaign. I think many women have had this experience when we stand up for ourselves we're called negative and told to stay quiet. Well, I'm not going to let my record be mischaracterized. The Vice President wants to take a page out of the same playbook my Republican opponent took in my first race for Senate, but he conveniently leaves out that Donald Trump is the one that commuted Rod Blagojevich's sentence. He should probably talk to his boss about that.

Look, I didn't run for President to engage in petty food fights like this, and this is the last I'll speak on the matter. I know we're all tired of the Trumpist style of mudslinging that seems to have overtaken our politics in the last eight years. I'm more than happy to move past this and run an entirely issue-based campaign, speaking on what the American public cares about like stabilizing our standing in the world, passing paid leave and universal childcare and making sure the wealthy pay their fair share so we can all benefit. If the Vice President isn't afraid to engage in a policy-focused discussion, then he will join me in eschewing this toxic negativity that we're all sick of."

- Meet with volunteers in Milwaukee
- Rally in Sheboygan
- Rally in Fond du Lac
- Townhalls in Oshkosh and Appleton
- Rally in Green Bay

June 18-19th: Pennsylvania

- Fly to Pittsburg
- Joint rally with Senator Conor Lamb in Pittsburg
- Townhalls en route to Erie
- Rally in Erie

June 20-23rd: North Carolina

- Fly to Asheville
- Rally in Asheville
- Townhall in Hickory
- Rally in Charlotte with Senator Anthony Foxx
- Rally in Winston-Salem
- Rally in Greensboro
- Rally in Durham
- Joint rally in Raleigh with Governor Roy Cooper

June 24-25th: Georgia

- Fly to Atlanta
- Joint rally with Representative Lucy McBath
- Townhalls in Atlanta suburbs

- Joint rally with Governor Ruben Gallego in Phoenix

"You know, Phoenix, I'm pretty partial to your Governor and was honored that he decided to endorse our campaign so early in the race. Ruben Gallego has a story that reminds me of my own, and is a story that many Americans can relate to. Governor Gallego has served our country and this great state his entire adult life, in the Marines, in Congress, as Governor, and now as my choice for Vice President of the United States!

The truth is, Ruben and I see the same problems facing the next person to serve as President, increasing education funding and standards, protecting and expanding LGBTQ rights, and committing to taking care of our veterans. He's done that as your Governor, and it's my goal to do the same as President. I could not be happier to have a hero like Ruben on the ticket with me, and I look forward to us winning the White House together in November!"
