After his sound rejection by the voters in 2016, Arpaio wants another chance at the wheel in 2020. This comes after his Presidential pardon and failed bid for Senate.

Any topic concerning Arpaio is interesting since this guy is singlehandedly helped shift the state into the battleground map.

Gonna love it if the sheer loathing of Arpaio brings out enough Democrats in Maricopa to flip AZ.

You forgot to add Jason Lewis and Scott Taylor to that list.

Eh, they (especially Taylor) aren't nearly as crazy.

If it's any consolation, at least he's rotting outside of a jail cell.

Sheriff Joe's failed reelection map:

What's up with that neo-Nazi leaning precinct on the East edge of the County voting over 90% for Arpaio?

Whenever you see things like that on a map, chances are the precinct has a tiny number of voters (less that 25), which leads to statistically strange results. For example, Wolf won a few rural PA precincts last year, generally because he got 10 votes there to the Wagner's 8.

Looked at DRA for it:

SUNFLOWER Voting District:
14 white
12 hispanic
26 total

2008:
4 McCain
2 Obama

2016 PVI: R+51.54

Which means to me that there was probably 1 or 2 votes, both Trump, and likely both Arpaio.

Arpaio's candidacy will put Trump's pardon at the forefront of the discussion in Arizona. No doubt this helps Dem turnout.

At least one person was smart enough to abstain lol.
