Well, after the referendum proposed by Fico and his pals failed spectacularly, the parties of the "original coalition" (which together with the liberals of PS managed to boycott said referendum) managed to reach an agreement at least for this time and preferred the " hard way" in order to amend the Constitution in order to allow early elections this year. And they have achieved it with just enough, 92 of the 90 MPs they needed.

(For almost every one of the MPs of the OG coalition, Against Smer plus the fringe right, Hlas abstained)

The rumored date for the new elections would be September 30th.

In parallel, the Spolu party has changed its name to Modrá Koalícia (Blue Coalition) and managed to get Dzurinda, in attempt to atract more minor parties and politicians into that new "moderate centre-right" party/coalition project they building.

This update went under the table, Ódor' caretaker cabinet failed to gain confidence in the outgoing Parliament after OĽaNO, Sme Rodina and Hlas abstained, SaS and Demokrati (plus the single PS MP) were the only ones who support him. Anyway the government will remain until the September election.

The most recent AKO poll says Smer having a 2pp lead over Hlas in a potential 8-party parliament, but OĽaNO is likely running as coalition (with Nova and other civic independents) and is polling around 7% being in risk to falling in the same fate as PS-SPOLU in 2020 (good news to get rid Matovic, i guess?), also to watch a rise in SNS polling being closer to the 5% basic threshold.

Where did the Dobra Vol’ba vote go?

There are running with Hlas, i counted 5 of their politicians within Top 25 (5th, 7th, 9th, 23rd and 25th), so some of them will may get elected.

Polls overall in Slovakia has been closed, but the moratorium on publishing exit polls has been postponed 45 minutes after the closing of voting stations (22:45 CET) due to two particular events, a member of the electoral commission of a voting center in Bratislava has had a medical emergency delaying the closing of the voting for 40 minutes, also the delay is due to the death of a 78-year-old voter in Považská Bystrica, delaying the closing for 45 minutes, in addition to small incidents mostly related to lack of ballots, or attempts to tear the electoral moratorium, but the day has generally been described as peaceful.

Exit polls are expected from the private network TV Markíza/Focus (as Estrella mentioned) and the public broadcaster RTVS/Median. Once the results will be known, also we figure out how was the turnout, probably high or similar to February 2020 (65.8%)

Focus/Markiza TV with a blank exit poll
snip

6-to-7-party parliament, depends if the one with 8% will be Matovič' OĽaNO or far-right Republika, one other party of the ones around the 5% threshold seems to fell off hard in the last 48 hours (most likely KDH or SNS).

Very probably tight race between Smer and PS. Hlas seems the one with 12%, as the polls already projected before the moratorium.

So this guy is an MEP and an MP simultaneously? Never heard of that combo before - I'm surprised there are no EU or Slovak rules preventing this.

Miroslav Radačovský is still (for now) a titular MEP, if he had taken his elected seat following the SNS ministerial appointments, he would have had to resign from being a MEP, but at least his party Slovak PATRIOT had another MP who passed the preferential voting threshold and got representation in the National Council after the appointments (Adam Lučanský, who got 8749 votes, Radačovský was just behind him with 8401). Just to reminder, of all the Slovak MEPs who were candidates in eligible posts at the September elections, only Michal Šimečka (PS leader) resigned as MEP to keep his seat in the National Council, due to incompatibility between positions. The other apart from Radačovský who was elected MP but remains in Brussels/Strasbourg for the remainder of the term is another PS/Renew (Michal Wiezik), There's also two Peter Pollák from OĽANO, but the father (born 1973) is the MEP and his son (born 1991) got elected and is a MP.
