Mayor Bill de Blasio has checked out, he has a second term that will be defined by the city economy, rising welfare rolls and NYPD division.

He is running for president in 2020; he won't win. I think he'll run for NY Governor in 2022 or 2026

The 2021 Democratic mayoral frontrunner is City Council Speaker Corey Johnson, a white gay man.

But I think Ruben Diaz Jr. will be the next NYC mayor in 2021.

Republican Eric Ulrich can appeal to the white working class Giuliani-Bloomberg-Trump Democrats in Howard Beach, Whitestone, etc. but he will lose unless crime skyrockets in 2021.

I think Jumaane Williams could enter the race. He's been elected Public Advocate earlier this year and did well last year's primary for lieutenant governor. If he runs, I hope he loses.

I hope Corey Johnson wins. He's been consistently wonderful on transit and biking and land use.

Corey Johnson probably wins. Jumaane Williams could beat Cuomo in a NY Gov primary considering how nobody votes in those things except minorities.

He's far-left ideologically, and last year opposed Kathy Hochul's reelection, who is one of my favorite public servants.

Lmao... King Andy would destroy him statewide.

Johnson seems to be pulling away. My personal candidate would be Eric Adams from the NYC Dems, but Johnson seems to be acceptable to the machine and has enough progressive bona fides to win.

This. He’s way left and populist. Comes off as someone’ who is good at campaigning but bad at governing. I was never more excited to vote for Hochul than I was in last year’s primary. Don’t live in NYC, but I would like to see Ruben Diaz win. I could see him working well with Cuomo.
