It looks like Culver's the better bet but there's not much in it either way

Ive visited Culver's website, but I only know the bare minimum about him.  How is he on the stump?

I actually like Nussle, and don't know anything about the Democrats, so I sort of lean towards supporting him.

The race will clearly be very competitive. Anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves or is a partisan hack.

Id say Nussle is the favorite right now, but that could change very quickly.  He obviously has close ties to Bush and Delay.  As budget chairman he can be directly tied to the ballooning federal budget defecit.  He also seems to have some pretty nasty skeletons in his closet.  A couple years ago Nussle had intern issues, divorcing his wife after having an affair with an intern he went on to marry.

Why would you say that? There doesn't seem to be a favorite according to the polls. The last two polls have shown Culver with a slight lead (within the MOE).

Despite all of the problems I listed above Nussle still seems to get re-elected year after year by a decent margin in a CD that is fairly Democratic. If he runs strong there in the gubernatorial race he'll be tough to beat.

This poll surprises me in that it shows Culver (narrowly) beating Nussle.  Nussle has a good amount of appeal to Democrats and Independents (such as myself).  This will be a close race, and I am currently undecided.

I take back what I said, there is serious competiton, I forgot Culver was running. This will be a close race, no doubt. Culver's name recognition will help him immensly, so Nussle has to get out and get known.
