All Democratic trifectas, but New York is outstanding. New York also has the best group of statewide elected officials. Cuomo-Hochul-James is an absolutely awesome trio.

The Massachusetts state government is also fine with a Democratic legislature and a moderate Republican governor, who governs as a pragmatist and with high personal integrity.

New York is surprisingly good for a state apparatus mired in corruption. It’s not anywhere near the basket case that Illinois is.

Utah, Texas, Nebraska, Tennessee and Wyoming are some of the good red state ones. Illinois and Alaska are probably the worst on the whole.

I'm not saying this to attack you, but you have no idea. Our state government is a clown show.

I'm originally from New Jersey and went to college in Illinois, so ANYTHING looks good compared to them.

Alright, that's a fair contention.

Washington

P.S. Anybody who unironically says NY needs to be introduced to the concept of political corruption.

I would probably say Utah but I can tell you the worst, Illinois. Y'All need to get your acts together when electing Governors. You are the only state where you can get a license plate from a former Governor

The best will include (in no particular order) UT, VA, MN, TX, NH, WA, NE and MA.

The worst two are definitely AL and IL in my book.

The head of each branch of government in AL was ousted for either adultery, corruption or violating the US Constitution between 2016-2017, but that doesn’t matter now does it?

Can you elaborate? I absolutely love hearing about your stories of cowboy state politics. Smiley

Might completely uninformed political junkie from the Midwest slight impression is that, despite inordinate pressure from fossil fuel Industries even compared to most western states, and the place being as close to a one-party State As It Gets, it's relatively speaking an example of good reformed government.
