More troubling for Democrats as a whole. Wow - great poll for Republicans, showing that Trump's polarization isn't totally bringing down the GOP brand. Top 14 Governors are all Republican. 8 of the bottom 10 are Democrats.

I don't know if it's fair to say that considering many of the most popular Republican governors like Baker and Hogan govern decidedly away from the national party brand. Not to mention governorships are less partisan/polarized on the whole.

...which is great news for Republicans! Still, I've never seen the disparity to this extent. Usually there is at least a couple Democrats in the Top 10 and the Bottom 10 is a mix of both.

Lamont, Bevin, Ramondo and Brown as most unpopular, and Baker, Hogan, Sununu and Scott (all -moderates by present day Republican standards, and Baker and Scott - "damned dangerous libruls") - most popular is nothing new. Glad, that most popular are not "ideologues", but "masters of compromise", that inspires some hope (which i lost about both President and Congress)

CT, RI, OR and NM and (maybe CO) probably will flip in 2022 if Democrat elected in 2020

Bad news for Bevin. Tossup/Tilt D

Gee, there is not a single Dem in the top 10? That's hard.

LOL at Ned Lamont. What's wrong with the dude? Another Malloy or is CT hostile to all sitting govs? JBE's numbers are not too good either, his reelection won't be a cakewalk.

It startles me, how Democrats continue to win governorships (and, in fact - all statewide elections) in Connecticut with such bad candidates. Probably, Republicans are no better (and state is too blue overall)...

As the saying goes: Republicans just want a good goosestep, while governing Democrats is like herding cats.

More seriously, the Top 4 are Democrats in all but name.

Lol, you hack.

Could JBE's signing of the abortion ban have something to do with his numbers?  Depression amongst the LA Dem base perhaps?

CHARLIE!!

Charlie Baker is such an awesome guy. Most notable is that the majority of popular governors are pragmatic problem solvers and no ideologues. This proves my point that pragmatic governance of social liberalism (not identity politics) combined with a center-oriented economic and fiscal policy is the best way to chose. Charlie Baker is someone who would make an outstanding president.

I'm only surprised that Andrew Cuomo and Gavin Newsom aren't higher since they were elected in landslides (both massive FFs). Ned Lamont should also be doing better, he seems to be a pragmatic chief executive and a very nice person. I don't know why this guy is already unpopular. Probably the mess Muhloy left him.

I suspect the CT rating may have something to do with the state's push for tolls on their major highways (which 3 in 5 CT residents oppose).

Yeah, they're all moderates. I think a moderate Republican would have won in Connecticut last year, but Stefanowski was too far to the right and too close to Trump. And even then Lamont won barely in a D+9 year and Democrats sweeping House races and the senate election.

Ralph Northam at +5 is such a damn hypocritical look for democrats, imo.

How that dude survived the kkk/blackface scandal is beyond me. And nobody even cares that he admitted it in the immediate aftermath.

Dems MUST primary him.
