People think Harris won the exchange with Biden?

"I didn't become a prosecutor" was such a great line. Cop Kamala will never cut into Biden's support among blacks.

Winners: Harris and, dare I say Williamson? Say what you will about her, she will have a support base going forward.

Losers: Biden, Yang, Swallwell

Can I get two hours of my life back? This night has done nothing to change my opinion of any of these candidates.

It reminded me that every single one of them is a better human being, and a better President, than the person chosen by Republican voters.

Kamala won this clearly by getting at Joe Biden.

Losing the popular vote by 3 million is “destroying”? In what universe?

Hate to agree with Sanchez here, but the universe in which not 3 million but 77,774 votes decided the election.

EDIT: Though I don't think Trump will destroy Kamala lol

Trump won the electoral college by the pluralities across three states. I believe he needs a strong third party challenger to siphon votes from the Democrat to win again.

I think Williamson probably has gained a larger fringe base than she had before.

TOP 3 WINNERS
1) Harris: She did so good on hitting Biden on the segregationists, her ending was so cringe tho
2) Swalwell: He made himself stand out for sure, and his burn on Biden about passing the torch was great. I can see him maybe getting a little bump from this.
3) Sanders: He had some issues, but his ending was strong.

TOP 3 LOSERS
1) Williamson: She was literally everywhere, I honestly have no clue wtf was even going on when she said she'd call Ardern and etc. She has, however, gotten a lot of publicity for sure, which could be good I suppose. I still think she sounded crazy though.
2) Biden: When you get attacked from all sides, it's kinda hard to do good, and even without the attacks he was very bland imo
3) Bennet: He didn't differentiate himself, he honestly said nothing that I remember, other than it sounded to me like he had just taken some meds.

NEUTRAL:
Yang: Closest to the losers here. He had some odd answers (Cooperation with China? Really?) and honestly did the worst compared to how I thought he would do. However, he did close decently well, and he explained his plans decently well.
Swallwell: Closest to the winners. He made himself stand out for sure, and his burn on Biden about passing the torch was great.
Hickenlooper: Kinda boring. He made himself stand out in anti-socialism etc. but not much else. He's about as close to the losers as Yang.
Gillibrand: She did perfectly fine.
Buttigieg: Closest to the winners, he did good, slightly better than Gillibrand imo.

THIS LIST IS VERY FLEXIBLE, BENNET IS VERY CLOSE TO MOVING TO THE NEUTRAL SIDE

My end of debate thoughts and reactions:

The Top:

Harris - Kicked Biden's teeth in. I don't much care for her history and habits, but I very much appreciate her take down of Biden's racist history. And she was generally strong at other moments.

Swalwell - I know who he is now and showed some good passion. I'm not super keen on his insistence on torch base rhetoric and it might actually help cement some of Biden's support.

Bennet - Showed some personality and generally came off well.

The mixed:

Sanders - We've heard basically all of this before. Works for the faithful I guess. Failed to engage Biden at all except on the Iraq vote... barely.

Buttigeig - Came off okay. Did dodge some things here and there.

The very mixed:

Gillibrand - I appreciate being strong like she was trying for, but... she didn't need to pull a Delaney to do that.

The just bad:

Yang - "I'm here and have a single issue! It will solve ALL your problems! Weeee!"

Hickenlooper - "SOCIALISM IS BAD SO VOTE FOR ME! AAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHH!"

Biden - "I'm offended you think my racist friendly past makes me a bad person! Also I trusted Bush, so its totally on him that whole Iraq thing, not me. For realisies. Also kids these days. I'm keeping my damn torch. Also Harris stop kicking me please."

Williamson - "CAREBEAR STARE!"

Buzz man... chill o'Pub ut a bit. Drink a beer, take a bong rip if you have a Medical deal in GA.

Assuming you don't consume substances of any type, grab a cup of coffee and head down to a local coffee shop (Not sure where in GA you live, but assuming you live somewhere not in the sticks) and have some chats with your fellow 'Pubs and bagging on MSNBC isn't going to be the starting point about how the 'Pubs will win the '20 GE with Trump as the "Monkey on the Back" of the 'Pub Party.

Personally if I were a 'Pub looking at the '20 GE, I would be looking for a means of dumping Trump from the ticket and making a more electable candidate, as was the case looking at the '64 Pub Primary election.

I am frankly baffled that anyone legitimately believes that Williamson’s performance will garner her any support beyond her existing cult following. She gave zero substantive commentary on policy and was terribly scatterbrained (talking about the moon, the power of imagination, children in New Zealand, etc.). I get that eccentricity can draw some viewers in, but...

Harris did a great job of pegging Biden on the issue of segregation. Sanders stayed on message and stuck with the stump speech, which works well for him, and despite some slip-ups he killed it on both the foreign policy issue and his closing statement. For that reason, they're both the "winners" of the debate.

Biden, Hickenlooper and Swalwell all flopped. The latter two didn't make an impact at all whatsoever, whereas Biden just crumbled under pressure. They're the "losers".

I will give Williamson credit: her debate performance will be more memorable than half of these candidates.
